So, this was made as a standalone track, since I poured so much of my time and love into the Tal Tal Heights movement in my Link's Awakening Epic Orchestral Medley (you can listen to it here: • Link's Awakening Epic ... ) that it was practically already its own song. The original theme was a chip tune for the gameboy classic, Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening. I've been meaning to give this iconic theme its own dedicated arrangement for eons, so it was about time. Hopefully, this remix has managed to capture some of the epicness of the original.

Who's here after the Nintendo Direct?
Meeee
❤
I had to.
yeahhhhhh
im here bro and i love it
1:06
WHY ON EARTH DO I HEAR TETRIS?!
It is your fate.
@@RebeccaETripp Tetris for switch was announced in the same direct than Link's awakening HD.
Coincidence? :]
I think I broke the replay button 🤔
Finally! One of my fav Zelda Games, as an epic orchestral remix! Someone else wish a HD remake of THIS game?
+Das Papu YES!!!
And in that HD remake of Link's awakening should be soundtrack orchestrated by RebeccaETripp.
Exactly :D
In fact, they should make epic remakes of most Zelda games, with epic remixes of the music. Now that, however unlikely, would be the best thing ever.
Yes !! Links awakening on switch!!!!!
childhood awakening ❤
Maximilia 8.Tunnle such a classic game links's awaking is my favorite Zelda game
If this game ever gets a proper remake, it would have the potential to become the best Zelda game ever made...
Agreed!
Ha, you couldn't have picked a better time to make such a comment. Hope todays Nintendo dorect pleased you.😁
well, the remake was announced officially hahahahaha
You've earned my respect :D
Just don't get your hopes up too high. It could be good, or it could be a cheap, watered-down cash grab.
"The Tal Tal Heart" by Edgar Allan _Poe_
+tahutoa Lol! Nice!
+RebeccaETripp Thanks, I do what I can :P
Favorite Zelda music ever. To me, this is much more the Theme Music of LoZ than the actual one (it does sound incredibly similar, obviously), probably cuz Link's Awakening was the first Zelda I ever really played. It's the most epic to me too. So good!
my fave zelda getting a remake, happy days
You want to know how good this is? I'll tell you.
Nintendo should hire you and have you work with Koji Kondo.
That's how good this is.
+Christian Beach Thanks. :)
Amen to that, bruddha. :D
Christian Puddington this is fantastic, but no one is good enough to work with Koji Kondo (i mean even Masuda on his best day should only be allowed to give a few ideas)
This song is just amazing. can't wait till the new links awakening on switch
You captured the epicness and more, Rebecca! You captured the mystifying, perplexing, adventurous nature as well. I especially liked how you ended your rendition: somewhat dark, yet determined, like looking up to the final destination at the top of the mountain.
+Augustus CB Your comments always brighten my day.
Anytime. I only want to return the favor.
+RebeccaETripp 2:22 Glory! I love that part.
Oh wow, you still read comments? Well in that case, I love this piece, great work! It really is impressive!
Thanks. :3
I clicked refresh and just barely hit the video
Lol
Still an absolute hit ! can't agree more with the arrangements
The art Tho Geez its give me a shivers
why did it take so long for this to appear in my recomended? instand subscribe, and i NEVER subscribe to people
Well, thank you! :D
Sounds like a Smash Brothers remix of the original. They should hire you if they ever go there.
@Leo Pausch Neither was the music in a bunch of stages in those games... But you fight shit when you climb the mountain, bro.
I love this theme
I'm so glad you did this.
we are
An amazing remix, you brought this tune to a new level, also, the cover art is beautiful!♡
I always see your comments on Zelda things, but didn't know you created stuff!! This is AWESOME (coming from a massive fan who can be a bit picky about Zelda covers)!! I love it!!
:'D Thank you so much!
My favorite track of my first Zelda, 20 years ago !
Awesome remix thanks !
Thank you! ^_^
This is the absolute greatest arrangement of this theme I've ever heard!!!
Thank you. :'O That means a lot, since there are so many, and it's such a popular track.
You're very welcome! Thank you for making this and sharing it with us ^_^ It really is a popular piece, and is one of the series' most loved, easily. You've more than done it justice!
0 dislike.
of course there is no dislike. ;)
Haters* is the answer, this a magnificent composition, and all the compositions crated by Rebecca Tripp ; )
5 moblins disliked this masterpiece... - _ -'
It's actually nine moblins now. I think they're planning another attack on Hyrule. Find the hero!
It's very nice, however, I definitely think that your brass section could do well with a bit more attack (quite a bit, actually...) The extended legato on all voices makes it a bit messy. It's nice to have a couple in the background, but we need something to keep the melody's rythm well defined (at 1:07, for example, it would be nice to have the tat tat taaa ta tat taa). The accumulated dissonance also becomes a bit heavy for this kind of piece (though that's more of a problem in the dark world remix).
These are good observations! You kind of zeroed in on many of the difficulties I had while mixing this piece. Some days I have an easier time than others getting all the fiddly work done to fix articulation.
Great work, by the way, I'll be sure to keep up :)
i want a 1h version of that...
man did you turn an already great song into the best version of itself that it could be wowzers I'm impressed! I love finding songs like this as I explore your backlog it will be a sad day when I run out of songs of yours to discover then again you are always creating so maybe that won't happen? we will see....
Link's Awakening is my favorite in the series. Your instrumentation and texture choice is amazing. I love this!
+Strings of the Woods Well that makes me really happy! Thanks!
I've listened to this repetitively for the past two years. It's still utterly brilliant! It's absolutely amazing! I still can't get over how brilliant it is.
Can I use this song in a video? (I would obviously leave credit)
Maybe! What's the video going to be?
100 facts about Link, this relaxing music would fit nicely in the video.
JCrv
Okay! Go ahead. ^^
Thanks!!
12 dislikes are from ganons fake accounts
Can you please make a Dark World theme orchestrated remake with the instrents used in this re-orchestration? I think you would make a great job as always!
+Andrea Ottino I sure will! Actually, what I wanted to do was extend the Dark World movement in my LttP medley, much in the same way I extended this from my LA one. :) But, in any case, a fully orchestral Dark World standalone Tripp remix is in the foreseeable future.
+RebeccaETripp I vote for that! DARK WORLD FTW!!!
+RebeccaETripp YES PLEASE!!!! an epic one that gives me chills, that lets you feel the dark side in your soul D:
why i couldnt find this video earlier? ^^
but seriously, top music and i love the ff vids
pls more of dat stuff ;)
K! (2 new FF4 ones are scheduled for later May, by the way!)
thanks ^^
nothing else to say ... just perfect. sit down and relax
your better then the remakes sound sadly they removed most of the sharpness of the soundtracs ...
i cried ;_; childhood memories
Hehe! It's good to cry sometimes. ^_^
I do not like how this version has not the same vibe or drive, sorry this is the first one i really do not like at all.
You got the main melody wrong at 0:32. It should be an E-B-E-F#-G-A-B not E-B-E-F#-G#-A-B as you wrote. Other than that it's a brilliant piece of music by you Rebecca! =)
Well, it was an artistic liberty, truthfully. I often change stuff slightly because I enjoy experimenting with style, variation, etc. It's amazing that you have the exact notes memorized (if you do), haha.
@@RebeccaETripp I'm glad that it was deliberate at least ;). I'm studying composition right now and our task at the moment is doing covers of 8-bit video game music and realizing the composer's idea and I picked this exact cue from Link's Awakening. That's why I have the notes memorized =)
I'm surprised I didn't find this sooner. It's beautiful. I've always loved the Zelda series and, of course, the music's a big part of the reason why. There is seemingly no end to Zelda remixes, most of which are amazing. Tal Tal Heighs was probably my favorite track from Link's Awakening even in it's original form. This is truly something else, though.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! ^_^ Thanks!
we need your work on the 2021 Zelda Game
c'est vraiment super !
Merci!
I can listen to this forever, this is so amazing and beautiful!
Damn this s too awesome. Thank you for this
My favorite zelda song..
Hands down.
I know this is an old video, but could you please do Byrne (Staven)'s theme please. Every theme you seem to touch is gold.
Thanks! ^^ I can't make promises at the moment, though! I have a giant backlog of themes to complete as it is!
RebeccaETripp Understood. I look forward to what you have to offer regardless :)
A fantastic cover! Amazingly done!
Thanks a lot! ^_^
I'm glad you've released this standalone version too Kee =D, the medley's awesome of course, but this part has enough power to stand on its own. Hmmm... I wonder though, is there any LoZ theme you would not want to make a remix of? Mayhaps from Wand of Gamelon, or is anything salvageable in its ost? -_-;;
+Sparkbomber You know, I never checked out any of the CDI music, so I have no idea if I'd like the music or not, haha! As for themes I would or wouldn't remix, well, the ones that interest me least are a lot of the shorter, cinematic themes that happen during cutscenes, mainly. I greatly prefer either atmospheric tracks, such as temple tracks, or memorable melody tracks like Lon Lon Ranch or Zelda's Theme- which is 99% of what's in the games.
Heh, well some of them can be quite nice, if indeed a bit too short. Still, maybe as a mini-medley? =)
Ahh, and concerning the two CDI games, most of those tracks lack the Zelda feel and are short+repetitive I'm afraid. I'll swear though that the Gibdo's Cathdral theme was originally scored for the SNES.
Ergh, you know something else? CDI flopped, quite hard, but at least it provided a ton of things for the more corny/toilet humor on RUclips, Newgrounds, etc.. I've only played, if such it can be called, a game on it once at a friend's house (as a kid) because his father worked for Philips and they promoted the bugged mess. IMO, bad does not cover it.
Sparkbomber
Hehehe! I'm so glad it existed, though, for the reasons you stated! Some wonderful comedy has, indeed, come about as a direct result of it! :D
Hahaha~! Very well, some of those can be very funny. But tbh, no matter how bad the humorous takes on the games become, the original is in this case always WORST. XP
Take Rayman for example, one of the launch titles in NL. Imagine using an unresponsive tv remote to play a platformer with some measure of required accuracy.
Watching a lets play for CDI would be comedy gold though. XD
can you make dark pit's flight theme for my birthday ? its on April 14
Yes! This is exactly what I needed to start the afternoon! Thank You Friend. Lovely. Somebody commented on one of my videos saying that they love your music, and that it takes them to the elysian fields (heaven in greek mythology). I'm sure they subscribed because I put your link in the description box.
+Seven Tikal Raymond (Boundless Exuberance) Well, Seven, I can't thank you enough! :D
+RebeccaETripp Likewise Rebecca!
Can you please tell me what program this was made in?
Ableton Live is my DAW. :) I mainly used Eastwest and Garritan VSTs.
Would you mind if I used this in a short film?
Sure thing. Just link to this video to credit me.
@@RebeccaETripp Thanks! Will do
noiseless was that short film ever made?
Well, you're quite the volcanic kind of person: 3 tracks in 12 hours. This one is my favourite, anyway, I have a soft spot for your epic arrangements.
+Stefano Moscatelli Thank you so much! :D
after 4 years, still loving it
Thanks!
This is amazing. This is from a gameboy. This brings me back to very first time I played this game. It's still good to this day. I love it, truly.
Thanks so much! ^_^
So much talent you have, this is amazing!! I am surprised for the low views, your orchestral arrangements should have thousands of views, my likes to all of them to help. I hope you get there soon.
Do you make all the fan art yourself as well?
Congratulations, keep up the amazing work!
+DaxMoon Thank you! :D I didn't make the art used, but I did layer it with the photographs.
That was so cool!! very nice!!! ^^
+Buck Bowie I was wondering when you'd get to this one. XD
Sounds great. After listening to your overworld medley so many times, though, I can't help but spend the whole thing waiting for the Lorule Field opening to start up.
Hehehe! I get that, too. With all sorts of medleys I've heard over and over, I keep expecting the next part. :3
I really loved the epic orchestral remix and this part and the last one, when you sing are my favorite
Tal Tak heights is a song that I like a lot, A LOT.
+Christian Bugmann >:3
you should submit these to Nintendo
+Isaiah Fuller ^^ Thanks.
Brilliant and epic rendition to the best track from this AMAZING game :)
+Michael Prado Thank you. :')
This needs more views though
:3
This is why the next remade Zelda ought to be Link's Awakening. There's just a goldmine of tracks that are begging to be done with a full orchestra instead of just being left as chiptunes, along with the fact that it seems to have been mostly forgotten by Nintendo. Heck, just do it in the same style as Link Between Worlds- maybe remove a bit of the difficulty from Eagle's Tower, lower the price of the bow in the shop (900 rupees, and it only shows up after you buy the shovel for 50 more? Really?), and generally flesh out the world a bit more.
But onto the music.
It's like I said in your LA medley- Tal Tal Heights/Mountain Range is one of if not my favorite tracks in the game. I love the mix of instruments that you put into it- everything mixes perfectly! It doesn't really sound like anything's out of place- everything's in there just where it needs to be and it doesn't even need a nudge or a jostle further or back. The urgency of the music is still there, along with the feeling of being close to finishing your quest- with six instruments collected and two dungeons left (though easily the two hardest), the goal is in sight even as the Nightmares are doubling down on trying to stop you. (Though I never understood from a storyline perspective why they just didn't move all of their leftover forces to Turtle Rock and just fortify the blasted place to make it harder to get in- after all, without all eight instruments, the Wind Fish couldn't be woken up...)
You've managed to top yourself, Rebecca- keep shooting for those stars, will you? :D
+Rain Feather I will, indeed, keep shooting! I think, in this case, because it's as much Link's dream as it is the Windfish's, that Link's mind intentionally created an evil as a means of working through his traumas left over from LttP, and seeded itself with all necessary figurative tools to overcome his grief.
I'm having a live orchestra play my work soon, as it happens! ^_^ If you want to see the performance, there will be a livestream! facebook.com/events/174216413297453/?active_tab=about There's the event in case you're curious! This is for my Chrono Trigger medley, so I'm not sure if it would be your thing or not!
And the prayers were heard.
Link's awakening! I love this Zelda game! Such an underrated one. It was one of the best IMO.
+Time Rock Orchestra Absolutely! :D I think the best in terms of overall quality/story/aesthetic were Majora's Mask, OoT, LttP, Wind Waker, Link's Awakening and Twilight Princess. Of course, many other Zelda titles were god tier compared with other series- Minish Cap, I think, is better than most other non Zelda titles, for instance- but those ones seem to be the best of the best.
+RebeccaETripp Agree on all of those, except I havn't played Majora's Mask much. Minish Cap was the best Zelda game I played in a long time. It was the first out of all the newer Zelda games that reminded me of the older titles, like ALttP and Link's Awakening. When I finish the CT tracks I will probably cover a few of these games as well. Always wanted to make an orchestral version of ALttP's Death Mountain.
Time Rock Orchestra
I'm looking forward to that (although I've only made a small dent in your CT stuff so far, haha!)
Hi there! I was wondering if I could use this in one of my videos?
+Ginjo Possibly! What kind of video would it be used for?
WOOHOO!!!
+Victor Hale (Nicholas Pultorak) :D
+RebeccaETripp ^^
Do you write these yourself?
Yeah. I mean, obviously, it's a cover, but I did 100% of the work in this arrangement otherwise. :)
Hot damn this is great! Wish I would have found this channel sooner!
+Koei126 ^_^v Thanks. I have a ton more Zelda stuff in this style, heh heh!
Put this on iTunes
Make a lot of cash money
Awesome!
This was my first ever Zelda game, when I was 12, now 35, and I still love Zelda! Thanks for this great dose of nostalgia!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! ^_^ It was technically my first Zelda too, though LttP sort of took over before I saw much of LA- but then I went right back into it.
I still believe it is still one of the finest portable games out there. I have no doubt Zelda will make it to its 40th anniversary! You could say I am married to the series.
Bravo !
A magnificent job you did there! Oft I hath envisioned a well done arrangement of Tal Tal Heights, and my wished are not in vain!
+Jeremy Gan I'm glad you liked it. ^_^ Twilight Princess medley is next! That, and a Deku Palace collab with David Ramos. ^_^
+RebeccaETripp That's sooooo coooool! I await the results!
You sure have some nice-sounding instruments.
(That's not to lessen the amazing job you did arranging this.)
+derula ^_^ I appreciate that comment, hehe! I'm getting better at using them. I've had the same VSTs for two years, but my newer stuff sounds like I've upgraded them.
+RebeccaETripp It sure does!
Sooo schön....
Knightfall brought me here ^^
Amazing work as always Rebecca! Keep it up!
+aplumafreak500 ^_^ Thank you, I will.
This is beautiful! This was always my favorite song from this game.
+Seth Moore ^_^ I'm glad you liked it.
I want a remake of Link's Awakening with your music.
:'D Thank you! Have you heard of the Second Narrator? He remade the entire LA soundtrack in a similar orchestral classical style. :) His work is exquisite!
+RebeccaETripp Yes! His music is just simply amazing. Of course, yours is just as good! :D
You two should totally do a collab.
please remake the entire Oracle games soundtrack together. It needs to be done. The games have such a great soundtrack
@@RebeccaETripp At least the dream became a reality even if is not your music I wonder how all the new soundtrack will sound on the remake.
Yes! Thank you a lot for doing a great job on an already great theme!
+Andrea Ottino ^_^ Thank you so much, Andrea.
Beautiful, one of my favorite songs in all Zelda games.
Thanks!
The Japanese must love us.
I always find myself coming back to this. Thanks! ^-^
:D You're welcome!
+RebeccaETripp It's like a song of adventure and heroism, so inspirational!

+Sparrow3587 Hahaha! Why 2004? Thank you. :)
That was when I discovered that video game covers and remixes were a thing.
Nice job :)
