    My daughter has two boys. She gave one boy white socks and the other one black socks. Now there is no argument about who is guilty. Just having that little bit of accountability ended that lazy habit.

    I love throw pillows! They add texture, decor and comfort to my large l shaped couch. I changed them ( covers) seasonally when I decorate and gives me instant updated decor without a lot of effort

    It takes me longer than a minute to do any of these tasks, I must be super slow! Having said that I can do a series of 5 minute tasks instead of 1 min 😂 great video Candace! ❤❤❤

      Nope you are not super slow these are not one minute tasks.

      1 min to fold a load of laundry? I don’t even fold, I roll and it’s definitely a 5 minute task

      Lol. Same. But I’m still battling perfectionism and that might have something to do with it. Laundry esp takes longer for me. Dishwasher also.

    I’m minimalistic and short. Throw pillows are what makes furniture comfortable. I have two on the couch and one on each chair in the living room and sun room.

    Don't feel bad if it takes you longer than a minute to do some of these things! It's not realistic for some tasks like unloading a full dishwasher or folding a sizable load of laundry. However, the advice about habit stacking is really good! Any time you're already standing up to do something routine like getting something to eat or drink, attach a task to it that makes sense. When you finish eating breakfast, take care of the dishes. While coffee is brewing or tea is steeping, wipe the counters and stovetop. When you go to your bedroom to get dressed, make the bed and put dirty clothes put in the laundry basket. Do 1 cleaning task in the bathroom while you're already in there. When you leave the home, take out the trash. When you return home, straighten up the entryway and hang things up. Basically, just try to leave a room in better shape than when you entered it and take care of messes (including dust) as you see them. It might sound like a lot but I find doing little bits of cleaning here and there so easy compared to cleaning an entire room at once or for a long block of time, which I find super overwhelming/paralyzing.

    • @goodenoughgirl8102
      @goodenoughgirl8102 Год назад +2

      Yeah. Or even doing one part of something “while you’re there” (like unload dishwasher utensils or grab a few clothing items out of the dryer and put away) goes a long way. I def can’t do the whole shebang in one minute tho. But still 5 minutes or so really isn’t too bad either. And then of course the whole thing about only having to commit to one minute (so a task will be started at all) is very helpful also. “Just start” demons are the hardest part anyways Imo. It gets you to just start and then you may do more but you won’t “have to.”

    Throw pillows are THE BEST!! I love switching them out. The pops of color. I don't even care that I'm adjusting them or I'm constantly picking them up because of my kids. Team throw pillows all the way 😊

    I would love to know what is your cleaning schedule? I keep trying to do the Clean Mama cleaning plan but I never succeeded for a whole week. I'm wonder if it's because of the cleaning plan or because I have to declutter more to make it more easy.

    I keep a car bin in bedroom for collecting sock. I drop then there when I take then off. Great wee job.👍

  • @goodenoughgirl8102
    @goodenoughgirl8102 Год назад +4

    Lol. This motivated me to empty the dishwasher and time it. Lol. (Also Bcuz I just ran it last night lol). Mine is older and doesn’t “dry” quite everything tho. Plus since it’s just me and the cats, I don’t run it every day either. Maybe once or twice a week, depending. So I timed the “mostly dry” unload at about 7:30 minutes. Then later I’ll go back and get the other stuff (that was wetter) and that will prob be about 1 minute. Idk how anyone does that job in just one minute tho. 😂😂

    Love your videos…2 things …get your kids involved with extra fun …example with the socks …throwing the socks into the hamper is like a game of basketball …let see who can do it better…but as parents we need to be there and play with them [the biggest complement l ever received from my sons was that the things we did together was fun …they found out later that what we did was called chores {this comment melted my heart} my sons thought they were playing.. that’s the key for young children [fun,play] as for your garbage …l only have 3 garbage containers in the whole house one per bathroom and one in the kitchen that it ..game changing ..much faster system❤

    A minute to fold a load of laundry is not possible for me unless it is a very small load which I do not do lol. Also my husband is in his 40’s and still leaves his socks lying around. Been with him forever and still cannot get him to stop doing it. It’s very annoying.

    I created a 'mud area' where there is a shoe shelf, box with each persons clean socks and a fancy container for dirty socks at the side. Weekly I just take the container up when I'm doing laundry.

    Respectfully what dishwasher are you loading and unloading in one minute, a toy dishwasher with two dishes. Certainly not a dishwasher in a family of four.

    • @FancyThatwithCandice
      @FancyThatwithCandice  Год назад +6

      I have set up my kitchen very carefully so that the dishes and silverware are less than an arms reach from the dishwasher!!! One minute over here!!!

    • @goodenoughgirl8102
      @goodenoughgirl8102 Год назад

      @@FancyThatwithCandice Lol. That is amazing. I wish I could change the logistics of my kitchen but as it is all the cabinets are off to the left end and the dishwasher is far right. 😅😅 And the perfectionism I have with everything being dry (older dishwasher). Oh well, at least it’s not a huge kitchen. But I DO think the whole super helpful point is really “just start” or “while I’m up” Bcuz that’s what will help us make a dent in it and get it done. Idk why 5-10 minutes seems so long sometimes Bcuz it’s not really that long. 😂😂

    Keep the throw pillows. You enjoy them. They are not taking up huge amounts of space. Allow some cozy and comfort things in your home.
    I don't like the term minimalist. Many people still think of it and see it as bare bones, next to NOTHING in the home.
    ROFL The empty box is their way of showing you, "Mom, you buy these, we ate them all up, and SEE MOM we need more."

    Sorry, but many of these are not 1 minute realistically. For instance, planning meals for a week can take way longer than 1 minute unless you eat the same meals every week. But some of these are great tips/advice.

      Exactly!!! Do a meal rotation! Eat the same meals each week for a month and rotate. Crock pot Mac and cheese every Monday, harvest salad every Tuesday, burritos every Wednesday, etc

    Sock solution: Get the big safety pins meant for diapers. As the socks come off, they get safety pinned together. They can go through the entire wash cycle like that. No more matching or lost socks. But you have to enforce that the socks can't just come off randomly around the house.
