I have my own set of superliners with a P42, some single level amtrak stock, and a collection of classic ATSF Super Chief cars plus an F7 A unit, all Kato, every time I get anything from them I’m blown away by how much detail they fit onto such tiny models, especially the printing of lettering you’d legitimately need a magnifying glass to read, always perfectly clear

As an HO scale model It’s surprises me how much detail they can fit in those engines
I personally run my grandfathers' old Lionel Postwar trains, but I can still admit that that Big Boy is a gorgeous locomotive.

You should do more of these types of races like Amtrak Charger and a different steam locomotive with the 491 and see who the winner will be. I love these steam locomotives and model steam locomotives

My trains are HO scale so this ain't me but a very cool giveaway! Tell KATO to do more HO please 😊 They're a great company. My Rivarossi Challenger runs like a dream thanks to a KATO motor swap! And the RSC-2s i have are the smoothest switchers I've ever seen. We use a bunch of their trucks too. Fantastic stuff!

Well the old HO scale Athearn Rubber band drives and specifically the hustler has a scale speed of around 300 MPH. The other athearn band drives are also “very speedy bois.”

one other thing you might want to consider when you are timing the real train vs the model train is that time probably is also scaled. if you think about how long it took for the 20 to go around the track and then figure how long the model train took to go around the track that time scale would be included

Oh, you have the Rio Grande Diesel there? I actually have one of those in G Scale by LGB as well as a Lake George & Boulder #2119 2-6-0 Mogul. Though very much a HO gauge person myself. Its the right amount of size with the right amount of detail.

Well… I can see you guys pulling off what James May (top gear/ grand tour) did with his HO model, BUT have the tracks goes in circles with the museum tracks. BUUUUT I know that is going to be difficult and expensive to pull lol :p

I would LOVE to win this set. I'm slowly beginning my venture into N scale for the first time. Having this Big Boy set would look great on my layout once I get it built. Right now, I'm just working on getting a bunch of track until I have the room to build the layout.
Win the model or not I feel like I won because I enjoyed the video. I actually said to a buddy, "If I win I'll convert to N scale." After all, it turns out I do not QUITE have the room for HO in my current house...

@@Hyce777 I haven't gotten him yet, but he's paid for. I did have the older Vision, but it got... Well, some things happened to it in a recent move. So it was made incapable of running.
The Restoration version will be coming in either late this year or early next.
I also missed the deadline so it might not be coming at all.
