This is what's called loving the game and never giving up on yourself. I don't think I've ever seen a streaky shooter become a legit 40% three-point shooter. It seems unreal. This is the definition of mamba mentality.
Still streaky but when he gets hot this year he’s one the best shooters in the leauge
Still streaky asf tho, if you watched laker games you would know. and he’s still not a good shooter off the dribble unless he’s wide open. But at least he’s hitting his spot up’s at a higher clip rn. Hopefully he can keep that up in the playoffs
This is not mamba mentality stop it.
@@keithtorrence2487Who cares about mamba mentality anyway? just marketing

I've genuinely seen haters say LeBron is a bad shooter this season and that his percentage is misleading. I have never in my life heard anyone say 40% from 3 on 5+ attempts a game is "misleading" except for with Bron 😭
@@shepardice3775he’s open very often
Ironic because the dude who uploaded literally shit on LeBron's shooting early in the season. Now he tryna save face
Amazing how he adapts even as he ages. From young to prime LeBron using his body, athleticism, and speed to get buckets and be a tank to now adjusting his game by being a more reliable outside shooter. This is how greats stay in the game longer: adjusting their game to compensate for their reduced other abilities. Another example is Curry adding more weight and muscle and refining more of his handling the ball to compensate for his age and loss of quickness.
But people still loves Westbrick for not evolving his games but they love Rust for his outside donations.😂
@@gobeyond6473 well that is apart from basketball, donating to the community and improving the lives of others is something that should be appreciated when u remove the player and look at the human instead. Hated Russ on the Lakers but that's a silly statement u made imo
Nah lebrons percentages have always been up and down. Shot 40% in 2013 on 5 attempts but 32% last szn. This year happens to be the up season. Not like hes attempting 10 a game. Its just similar to 2013
Now if he could just fix his free throw shooting. LeBron will be 45yo posting a 50/40/90 season lol
If he could get to 80% that'd be good enough lol

Lebron was shooting 3's BEFORE he got to LA ..
I noticed this a lot last couple years, James shot slowed down a bit. Watch his younger Cavs highlights and it's like a completely different player shooting. This year his whole release is quicker and his follow through looks much smoother
The dedication it takes to get better at something you've been doing professionally for literal decades is insane
It’s literally his job to shoot a basketball. He has millions of dollars and can hire the best shooting coaches in the world. Plus he’s streaky as hell and I would bet money his percentage will drop down again. But yeah let’s act like this is some amazing accomplishment. Their team is currently in 10th place.
@@fancylad22 damn, thats goat level hating 😂
@@fancylad22I love Lepapi but I mostly agree, this guy picked and chose with these clips and numbers a bit too
His "elite" shooting is because he plays absolutely no defense nor does he do anything on offense when we doesnt have the ball. I expect something like this from a casual channel but its quite literally impossible to actually analyze tape and not notice these things.
Yes he is a better shooter but its really not that big a deal due to the context. He shoots wide open 3. Hes not breaking dudes down off the dribble for 3s nor is he taking a lot of contested 3s
@@jdrmanmusiqking I'm embarrassed for you

Thats something the haters never talk about, Lebron change his game constantly while he get older, in order to stay effective. The fact that he still is able to explore undeveloped potential is equaly impressive as his wolverine-like body.
Well its expected since lebron is the 3rd greatest player
Because he has relied on lots of shooters to be around him when he has the ball, the other players had to adapt to his playstyle too, like Kevin Love and Chris Bosch for example. He didn't developed his shooting, until now.. after 20 years, where the league is forcing him to shoot more 3pts.
This just pure love for the game and compensating for his athleticism, he’s my 🐐

Credit to James for still working on his game and improving this far into his career. A player of his stature, at that stage in his career, could be excused for accepting his shooting for what it was. But this is what sets true competitors apart, the mindset that you are never too good or too accomplished to learn something new!
It’s absolutely wild that Lebron had a better 3 point shooting percentage than Steph Curry this year. Obviously that doesn’t mean he’s a better shooter. Lots of context missing. But still, incredible
He’s been great at shooting at some points in the past: 2012-2013, 2016,17,18. In 2017 playoffs he was one of the best shooters in the whole post season

I'm sorry, ELITE?!?!? Coach, you're better than this. I've been watching you for like a decade and i hate your fanboy bullshit the most 😂 LeBron is CHEEKS. I'm a 27 year old white, shooting scrub and I wholeheartedly believe I'd beat LeBron in a free throw contest 😂
Until now? He shot 40.6% in 2012 on Miami. At his size and strength, power isn't the problem, it's rhythm and consistency on release, no? Draymond is just an ugly shot...
Yeah, until now. Shooting 40 on two attempts a long time ago, with a lot of average shooting years in between, means he was in the wilderness until now
This was excellent analysis.
You'd shoot better too if you're doing load management and don't play defense most of the time
His dedication to improve is great, it's just crazy if you think what level of play he can still maintain. Also close to the rim posting up, you still need to double team a 39yo guy because he's like 70% FGs from that position.
Then there is Ben Simmons who has had years to develop a shot......
The fact that in year 21 he suddenly became a 40% 3 point shooting with volume (yes I’m aware he did it once in Miami) is nothing short of insane

Elite shooter? 😂😂 dude averages 37% outside of 5ft and he is considered elite. Hes only averaged 50% outside of 3ft 1x in his career and that was from the 3-10ft range.
insane, i used to think this channel was knowledgeable, too
Even MJ averaged just 0.377, 0.444 and .453 outside of 3ft up to the 3point line for his career. But in the 1996-97 season he was at .521 from 16ft up to 3pt line. That was his awesome midrange game.
@@pekie5533 you do realize that the stats you're looking at is for a 4yr window (his last 2 yrs with the Bulls and his 2yrs with the Wiz) because they didnt start tracking shots by distance until 1996.
@@mikerobinson6969 Yes I saw it's only 4 years. But I wanted to point out that it's not easy to get above .500 even for a (generelly acknowledged) good mid-range shooter like MJ. Given that MJ further developed his jump shot later in his career, I guess his 90s seasons could maybe feature some more times above 0.500 from midrange rather than his 80s seasons.
🐐 James, keep striving for greatness .
Wtf? His team is in 10th place. But yeah he’s having a great season? What a joke.
Crazy. Hes a billionaire. I would have retired long ago and he is still working extra
That's because his putting more juice on his body that looks like he isn't old and fragile. Just ask Kevin Garnett when he said "Balco" in a podcast interview. 🤑
Because he knows he'll never catch MJ or Kobe in terms of legacy. He thinks if he plays the longest and has the highest scoring total he'll be better than them. Truth is: he's embarrassing to watch. Travels 80% of his drives. offensively fouls constantly. Flops and cries. Then goes on Twitter and has the dumbest takes. Dude has lived with zero accountability his whole life. I don’t disagree with you but it also has to do with longevity which isn’t Bron’s fault lol all I’m saying is most players are lucky to be in the league for 10 years!! compared to 21 YEARSS 💯
He's been playing for 20+ years and shoot a lot of 3 pointers
@l9ikjam He just started a lot of threes past 5 years before he was shooting like 3-4 a game
Hes also 5th in attempts but not even in the top 250 all time in %. So yeah more attempts usually equals more makes. Jordan was an average 3pt shooter and even he'd be 12th all time in makes if he'd shot as many as LeBron.
@someone-eb1wh he was taking a lot of 3's in the beginning of his career. He slowed down the 4 years in miami but then started going up when he went back to the cavs. His last 7 seasons he averaged between 5 to 8 3's per season. Reggie miller highest is 6.6 and average is like 4.7 for his career. Lebron's average is 4 6
STILL CAN’T SHOOT FREE THROWS. Show things that matter.
He shoots 37% outside of the paint for his career and usually gets wide open layups, hardly elite shooting

Just a reminder that Lebron came into the league when 3pt shooting wasn’t half of what it is now. He came into a league that was low scoring and defense heavy. Now he’s in a high pace 3pt shooting league and he’s as good as ever. Legitimately unheard of

I'd wager 1000$, that Lebron won't top that.
(P.S.: I DO respect his improvement on the 3P shot. About the only thing I respect about him...)
I agree that his jumper is better but this is stuff he needed to have mastered by 2010. He was constantly exposed as a poor jump shooter in the deadball era where jump shooting was needed. The Magic and the Celtics in 09 and 10 made him a jump shooter and that's why he lost to them when Kobe was able to beat them pretty much single handedly with about an equal supporting cast. If he could combine better jump shooting with his generational athleticism, maybe he wouldn't have needed to jump ship to superteams and have adam silver put bugs in every ref's ear to make things go his way. As it stands...father time has caught up with him and all he can really do now is put his head down and watch as everyone is instructed to get out of his way.
😮 I'm just saying he has improved his shot but playing 20 years of basketball will do that. Yea you got the 40 grand cool but as long as steph playing Lebron will never lead the league in 3's. Rebounds, steals and blocks are also out of his reach another ring🤔 maybe with another team
easy, be such a terrible jump shooter for 20 years in the NBA, don't work to get open on offense, and defenses will ignore you, sagging off to give him 10+ feet of open air in front of him, then when he gets the ball and jacks a 3, it has a higher then normal (for him) chance to go in, because there is no closeout; as a sidenote, while his work on his catch and shoot aspect has been enormous, i can't help but note this might be the first time in his 20 year career his game evolved in any meaningful way.
still lets temper our enthusiasm his shot off the dribble is still putrid. and he is far less accurate with a hand in his face. but it's still a small evolution in a guys game who somehow has failed to evolve in 20 years.
Nah lebrons percentages have always been up and down. Shot 40% in 2013 on 5 attempts but 32% last szn. This year happens to be the up season. Not like hes attempting 10 a game. Its just similar to 2013
LeBron may be a generational talent, but the fact that there are still aspects of his game he's capable of making big improvements in during his _21st season,_ players like Ben Simmons have ZERO excuse to coast on their raw talent and athleticism alone

I'd say he's below average improving to average. But as a Lakers fan, I hate it when he keeps chucking them up even though it's obvious it's not his night from deep.
How do you become elite at any sport..you have to be an idiot not to understand this..repetition..of course you have to have "genetics" for sports..but no one in the world can become good at any sport without work ethic
Bron knows Lakers issues is shooting so he take like always the responsibility since AD stop shooting from 3 well they can count on DLo but thats not enough with all the players they sign in the offsesason Lakers shouldnt watch to be in this postion
Let me guess. Haters will say PEDs improved his shooting.
I hope he gets more confident with these threes. It’s not going to last and ultimately it will probably be the Lakers downfall (if they even make the playoffs)
Too late to develop a shot, let's see how he going to improve his overall commitment to play defense,
