I think is more about leverage, him showing himself as available for that seat does give leverage to Toto to negotiate with other drivers for a fairer price, dont burn your bridges man, Toto might not put him in Mercedes, but Toto helped him get that seat in Alpine and also did help Mick get his at that other racing series. If someone can help Ocon keep racing (no matter the series) it is Toto.
