Ive been into kpop for 6 years I can easily say that twice is the best role model and arguably the best kpop group
44:35 that’s actually not weird! he said himself he kinda sees twice as his daughters. he produces almost (if not all) their title tracks, and often writes lyrics for them too.
9:07 I think there is a bit of miscommunication here, jeongyeon's persona was not "assigned" by the companny, i think some people are misinterpret her vlive some time ago where she said that jyp does not like her having a short hair. If you have watch jeongyeon since her predebut era, that is just who she is. She is not forced to be a certain way by the company, at least not from the beggining. The reason why jyp does not like her with 'feminine' look or her having a long hair NOW is solely because she had her short hair and boyish look for so long that the fans and the public already associating her with that image and it already became her brand so to speak. In the first place, jeongyeon is just jeongyeon, we are the ones who labeled her as a 'tomboy' just because she has a short hair, the jeongyeon now is still the same, her personality is still the same, just because she decided to change her style and that she does not want to have a 'boyish' look on her does not change anything. Also, one of the reason why jeongyeon slowly hate her short hair is because people keep misgendering her and call her "oppa" a lot which she already said that she hate that and wish people stop doing that.
Unfortunately that part was probably included because it's from an older famous guide. All too often there's a trend to present an underdog story in these Kpop guides, either through exaggeration, misinformation or leaving out information.
There's a lot of familiar beats, terminology, and editorial from other guides. The creator is well intentioned, but seems like a newer fan, that felt the need to create an "updated" guide.
Jeongyeon's body used to be perfect with long legs like a model. because of a neck injury she gained weight and was not confident.
Short hair is one of the demands of company agents because he is very suitable for the role of an idol icon who is trending for fashion.
when she stated jeongyeon was his bias i was so happy. almost became the main vocal, but the agent appointed Jihyo.
I follow every member of TWICE and TWICE as a group.
Sixteen IS heartbreaking (especially the elimination episodes) However, it's really fun to see how the girls started and improved/ stayed the same and to see their bonds form. Plus, after seeing them go through these hardships personally made me root for them and enjoy their success even more because they truly deserved their success. Plus theres like 10 episodes and the episodes honestly go by quickly and are very engaging from start to end

If you are talking about album sales, such as preorders 1.7M, this is not just saying it, it’s a fact and that’s why Twice is the best-selling Kpop girl group in history. Twice also were the only K-pop gg who charted in the Top 10 Billboard album sales from 2020 through 2023, and in 2024, charted at no.1 Billboard album sales for their first week come back.
1:04:13, Just want to correct you. It is not a generalization, it's a legitimate FACT, and you’re wrong if you think their album sales are going up all of a sudden. Twice always sold their albums higher compared to other gg. Since you said maybe you focus on boy groups most of the time, so you didn't know, and that makes sense. Their album sales have been higher internationally since ‘Fancy/2020’. You can check the news everywhere. Twice is the only gg and ranks at no.3 among bg in the top 10 albums sales by any K-pop group in general.
It was revealed only recently that Cry For Me was going to have an album and MV (probably around 1Q2021), they even completed the album jacket shooting (that is the reason why they were able to release the digital version and concept photos so quickly after MAMA2020). However, Jeongyeon was unable to participate further due to her illness, thus they scrap the whole comeback after consultation with the members. The company wanted to have all 9 members together.
jeongyeon's sister is a actress, they have a recent video together when they apeared on a talking show where they introduce their pets.

One thing missing from the guide, is that the girls weren't strangers before the survival show Sixteen. All the contestants were already JYP trainees, there was no public audition like American Idol. There were trainees ranging from 10 years, to less than a year competing on the show, so they had different relationships coming in. The struggles they went through on the show together, brought them even closer.
In regards to your question about JYP's relationship with Twice, they seem friendly. He generally has a good relationship with his artists in the past, even when they leave the company to sign elsewhere for a change. Sunmi still collabs with him, and often roasts him to his face and on other shows. He always brings up character, when he's looking for artists to debut. Twice's success is in big part due to their humble attitudes and relationships with each other.

Hi! To answer some of your questions:
1. Variety Content - They have an ongoing youtube show (since the start of pandemic) called Time To Twice (TTT). It has 3-5 episodes per concept. you can find it on their official channel. They keep up with it even with all their other commitments such as tours and all. They also have earlier variety content called TWICE TV, but these are hard to come by because it was aired on channel tv. There are sites you can watch it from, but they are not official.
2. Acting opportunities - For the longest time, the girls haven't touched on that even though they'd have some offers. But it was recently announced that Dahyun was casted into an independent film titled 'Sprint' and they are filming atm. It will be the first time a member does so. Prior to that, they have only acted on variety shows, SNL Korea, and MV of other JYP groups.
3. About the Marshmallow song - MISAMO had pre-released a song prior to their title track which is Marshmallow. It came with a music video as well.
4. JYP relationship with TWICE members - they are pretty close, Onces can infer. Dahyun calls JYP her "Appa" (father) especially during concerts in which he attends. JYP also talks a lot about the group and always praise them for being kind and humble all these years.

Also to answer the question about album sales for twice specifically not every group
But JYPE has been bad at distribution - US distribution only began in 2020
- European distribution began in 2023 which is why there was that massive increase between the 1million and 1.7 million
There was also exactly a year between the 1million album and the 1.7 million album
And set me free was the album that came along side their biggest world tour
So they were the reasons for such big increases

Yes Twice has their own show it's called TTT (Time To Twice)
You can explore a bit on JYP's relationship with the girls thru "TWICE Seize the Light". And they do call JYP their father during award shows. Regarding their solo's, if you watch Nayeon's bts for her album, i think she said that this has already been planned ahead of time by the company only waiting for the girl's consent/approval if she wants to take on that challenge. JYPE will not push the debut on the member if she thinks she is not ready yet.

She's the 1st one in Twice to do acting, also Nayeon is having her 1st comeback this year + 5th japanese album coming in july and MAYBE a 4th full album (since it's their 9th anniversary this year and jype loves to do things for twice with the number 9)

why Nayeon be the first solo? i think it's JYP push (as i saw some interview as her solo could inspires to other members). but why her, i think she is just have the most ready to do solo.
as i said before, that JYP afraid to debut girl group, and as i saw, i kind of understand him, this career path is crazy, so much pressure, so much hater. so i think the most important is 'the members' because that might be the closest person (even more than parent or friends or staffs, during work) so when you have strong members support (also fandom) then you can go solo. (it's like contingency plan)

He is very respected in kpop (although everyone, including himself, makes fun of him) & he writes songs for all of his artists. He has over 650 writing credits for songs with more than 50 no.1 hits. If your somehow interested, he plerformed al lot of them (including a piano version of Feel Special) on his concert "JYP NO.1 X 50".

If you're looking for R&B, both Nayeon's and Jihyo's solo albums feature R&B. They're both very distinct from the TWICE sound and really showcased their artistry.
TWICE does have a reality show in their channel which I believe you will enjoy granted that you wanted to know more about the members individually.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. The growth is reasonable. Did u know that the #1 buyer of Kpop music is now USA. It used to be Japan i think. Within 2-3 yrs things have changed a LOT. BTS paved the way and now i see so many Kpop groups on US shows and performing here. So happy for the growth. Their 1st Eng song was everywhere here! I heard more from them than BTS in my supermarkets. UwU lol. This was a 1st watch. I think he did a good job. If he told us more about each member i believe it would be 3 yrs like other guides i see. But u can always watch another guide that focuses more on the members. I am still learning about these gals. So fun. Throughout the whole guide i was saying the leader gave us a solo. About Nayeon's solo, I think it was mentioned before that when the company decided it was time for the group to have solos, some of the other members were not yet ready and Nayeon was one of the most ready ones? Also, from a corporate view, Nayeon being the first one to do so was probably a safe and smart move because she's the face of the group and can really hold her own vocally. Honestly it was really just a matter of time before she debuts solo and she did it at a great time. Jihyo even said during her own solo era that she was very grateful that Nayeon was the first to do so because she learned so much from her tips when it was her time to debut solo. I can't wait to see the other members debut, especially since MISAMO also killed it with their debut. A lot of people are saying Chaeyoung or Jeongyeon might be next but I think the smartest move would be to debut Tzuyu in China. Dahyun will also be making her actress debut soon and Nayeon will have her comeback later this year so there is definitely a lot of hype with the group's solo activities.
Sure hope that Jeongyeon gets a solo album some day 💚

There's a lot of misguided info your getting but I'm a ONCE so I'll not argue, but just because, try this. Twice is as great as they are because the members don't just love each other they RESPECT each other, it's why you will always see them listed by age (Jihyo is the leader but she is always the middle picture because of her age) so the solo's will always be age related. Nayeon being the oldest debuted first, Jihyo was announced to be second but oopps surprise MiSaMo debuts a month before her and oh look Momo and Sana are both older than Jihyo, coincidence I don't believe in it. Now you'll say what about Jeongyeon well they all tried to get her to debut but she doesn't want to go solo YET (I hope) and they will respect her till she changes her mind or doesn't. Since Jeongyeon is my bias I will say that she didn't go on hiatus she hurt her neck and had surgery and like all great athletes or performers the first major injury is always denied till they realize the doctors are correct rest is the only cure and she didn't listen the first time so she came back to soon and then she did what the doctors told her and took the time she really needed to heal. My proof, her weight (not in my eyes but i'm not Korean), it is one of the dumbest parts of Kpop but did she care no she came back when she felt physically ready with no concern about what anyone said about her. She's a rock, actually THE rock that Twice is built on. OT9 forever, Twice lore that they will remain a 9 member group forever and 9 years and 2 solo's later they are still 9 (TIMELESS). PS Jeongyeon's sister was actually slated to be in Red Velvet but didn't want to compete against her sister so she became an award winning actress.
What do you mean? It wasn't just her injury she took a break for. She has anxiety. you can see videos people took the months before her hiatus was announced where she looks visibly nervous and members were comforting her just as they did before Mina's break. Also her weight is a sign of that too. She's likely on medications for it. Not that she's overweight or anything but she has gained a little bit and that's likely why
@@peachxtaehyung As I said lots of misguided info. Jeongyeon is a perfectionist and the pain didn't allow her to do what she had always done, so yea she was upset. As to the weight gain, look up back injuries you'll find that the cure for that kind of pain is steroids (she was already using steroid patches) and the biggest side effect is weight gain. I have first hand experience with this my girl friend gained lots of weight and after 20 years of not taking them she still can't lose all the weight. If you wish to believe the lies JYP tells that's on you I prefer to believe in the strength of Jeongyeon. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).
