Thanks so much for sharing this. I couldn't help but think of Lester's Longhorns on a cattle drive. Lester riding his horse, accompanied by his guard and herding dogs. All of a sudden Dani and Ruby. would start doing zoomies, then begin demanding their bottles. We'd hear, "Jami, Get their bottles ready." I'm being humorous of course. Lester, you are so skilled at managing your Longhorns. You do it with so much confidence, as if it's second nature. Stay blessed Jami and Lester.
Thank you for your narrated tour Lester. It was really interesting. I can just see the cowboys and horses driving the cows across the river, like in the movies. So dangerous. Awe inspiring.
Thanks Lester and Jami for sharing your trip! What awesome monuments the city is showcasing. Plus, saying what beautiful trees...I think of the story of you and your grandma planting trees on Morrow Hill.
Morning Lester thank you for sharing piece of history today. So glad you and Jami having some down time with each other. Those longhorn sculptures are so majestic. Safe travels home take care and God Bless. 🙏💕🤠
Lester, you remind me of my Dad who LOVED history. He passed that love along to his kids and several grandkids, as well. Thank you for showing us this really interesting place. 💜🐾🐾💜
Good morning Lester and Jami Thanks for sharing this little bit of history. It’s beautiful. Hope you guys have a safe, drive home and a groovy day ☮️❤️
Thanks Lester..that was so interesting...I can't imagine how hard that must have been to cross a river like that ...on a cattle drive..how many snakes were in the water...😳🤠 I love seeing historical places like that...thanks for sharing ❤
Lester, you and Jami are the perfect pair. I love the different perspectives that you share! Jami’s love of showing us the shopping and restoration / repurposing of old buildings and such coupled with your love of history and teaching us about what you find! It reminds me of how my husband and I view these types of trips! Thanks for bringing us along!
Wow I love seeing the cattle driver herding the longhorns to the river. Watching Lonesome Dove they tried to find the most narrow crossing and lowest part of the river. Thankyou for sharing your and Jamis adventure in Waco Texas. Really awesome.
Hi Lester, thanks for taking us with you all. Hope you & Jamie had a great time away. My husband wouldn't have stayed the night. Wasn't it worth it to just to have a reset . We are raising our 2 oldest grandkids now. We only got away 1 by ourselves & been married 44 yrs.
What an amazing monument! You need something like this at Longhorn Lester’s in front of your gate!! Smaller of course😂 Tell Jamie to keep that old truck at your new property and she can pretty that up with flowers and maybe a sign in front of it. Ideas galore there . Can’t wait to see what all you do there. You need to have a home there too . Love you two ❤❤
Good Morning 🌞. Hope you both slept well. Thanks for taking time to share the sights with us. Have fun, travel safe, eat amazing food & enjoy your WELL Deserved getaway adventure.
Lester, I was so excited to know you and Jami had finally made it up to Waco, my home town. There are so many things around this great city for everyone of all ages to enjoy. I hope you will both be able to visit us again soon.
Very cool. I enjoy just jumping in the car and exploring my state. So seeing things like this is really neat and interesting. Thanks for sharing it with us. Safe travels home today.❤
Thanks for taking us along on your trip! It’s a beautiful bridge and the story behind it is so interesting. I remember watching cattle drives on the western TV shows when I was younger.
Watched Jami's 1st this morning! Was awed then and still awed watching yours. I've always loved history, glad Waco honoring the past and the men that did this. Helped built a country! Good, Bad and Ugly, our country's history.
Good morning, y’all! Love going to Waco with y’all. I’ve only been to Houston airport on a layover. Beautiful coastline flying over leaving. Glad y’all got away. Enjoy life while you can. You sure don’t know what tomorrow shall bring. Love y’all. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 🇺🇸💖‼️
This is quite an impressive tribute to the Chisholm Trail. I grew up watching Rawhide, Wagon Train, and many, many western movies. He[], I still enjoy them. It's good yall got a quick away. A change of scenery can do the body good. Hugs to yall... 😊
Hello my Friend, thank you for sharing such an interesting piece of our history. So really cool. I'm happy the two of you got out and spent some really neat quality time together. Love you both. 🙏❤️🙏
Thanks for sharing this with us Lester. I have family in Waco and have visited many times, but have never seen this, will keep in mind next time I visit.
Love this video Lester of You and Jami visit to Waco, Texas. I have been there but it’s been awhile. So glad you and Jami got away on this little trip..
After following you Lester after all these years...I can see that first longhorn was underweight! You've taught us that. Ribs showing and skin hanging. So it was a hard life for the longhorns too!
Good morning Lester. The sights of Waco are fascinating especially when you have seen the longhorn statues and head trail drive boss before but I can't remember if it was on Fixer Upper or in history books in school or just curious when someone has drove by when they are storm chasing Texas. Would the settlers back then may have built barge type rafts to take the cattle across or just have them swim it. Thanks for the history. Have fun and safe trip home.
Hey Lester, thanks for the historical information. Now we know why Texas is the big state & was the last one to join the union. It's a state that can handle It's self. This is the state I should have been born & raised in because I love the outdoors, wildlife, & living off the land. GB, y'all stay safe & take care 😊
I would love to see this place. I am excited for you folks. There is an old suspension bridge in Wheeling West Virginia. You can feel it move when driving over it.
I love the statues. They have this type of statues in downtown Omaha about the expansion into the West. Impressive and worth going to see. I definitely want to check this out when I travel through Texas.❤️👍🏻. 🙏🏻🌦️🌦️🙏🏻
Funny story Lester. A girl I went to high school with had her own horse. She thought she was really something and let everybody else know. One summer she was going out west on a “real cattle drive” and she let everyone know about it - how great it was going to be, how she’d be the only non-adult there, etc. When she got back she had a rather permanent scowl etched on her face. It turns out she actually had to WORK!! She was absolutely miserable, and on top of that the “drive” went a few days over and she missed the hottest rock concert of the summer at our local venue. 😂 Those cattle drives were no picnic to be sure!! (This was in the late ‘60s)
Lester do you know that the Texas Ranger Museum is also in Waco. It is right off the interstate (or used to be). There is also an old cemetery beside it. FYI.
You should take a trip to KC to see the Stockyard tunnels, my ex FIL was a cattle buyer and worked the Stockyards, he had some really crazy stories about moving the cattle through those tunnels.
Do you know the man who invented the twisted wire for suspension bridge was from Saxonburg,PA. His name escapes me now. Saxonburg is about 50 miles from Pittsburgh.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I couldn't help but think of Lester's Longhorns on a cattle drive. Lester riding his horse, accompanied by his guard and herding dogs. Your next trip needs to go to The Stockyards in Ft. Worth to see a Longhorn Cattle Drive in person. There are shops for Jami to shop in.
The sculptures, bridge and that entire area is absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this history with us
Thank you for your narrated tour Lester. It was really interesting. I can just see the cowboys and horses driving the cows across the river, like in the movies. So dangerous. Awe inspiring.

Lester do you know that the Texas Ranger Museum is also in Waco. It is right off the interstate (or used to be). There is also an old cemetery beside it. FYI.

You and Jami should do a trail ride across Texas. Now that would be a sight and video for you two! LOL
Lester, did y’all go visit Ben at Urban Rescue Ranch😃❤️ Waco seems like a cool place, tons of history there!❤️
That's really awesome!! What a beautiful display 😍 👏 🇨🇦
My favorite western film has to be Lonesome Dove, they don’t get much better than that
You should take a trip to KC to see the Stockyard tunnels, my ex FIL was a cattle buyer and worked the Stockyards, he had some really crazy stories about moving the cattle through those tunnels.

So gorgeous.. how far from the power plant that exploded were you???
That is a wonderful display of Longhorns and cattle men.
Did you know that these longhorns and cowboys were made in Lander, Wyoming? We were living there while they set up waiting to be delivered to Texas.
Do you know the man who invented the twisted wire for suspension bridge was from Saxonburg,PA. His name escapes me now. Saxonburg is about 50 miles from Pittsburgh.
