The TX27™ Hardshell Rooftop Tent range from The Bush Company are the industries leading double action hardshell rooftop tents providing ultimate comfort, design & convenience. There are two tents in the range, the standard TX27™ which is 1.4m / 4' 7.1", and the larger TX27™ MAX which is 1.6m / 5'2.9" wide.
The tents have 310gsm (+/-10%) double skin canvas, 6 doors/windows providing near panoramic views & 5sqm of ventilation, front and rear rainflies, plenty of room for all your bedding. Why wouldn't you want this tent?
The TX27™ range of tents can be set up/packing down in 90 seconds, and incorporate The Bush Company's many years of experience in aluminium fabrication and first hand experience in touring/camping.
The double action roof makes the TX27™ range of tents makes them very spacious inside with 1.35m / 4'5.2" internal roof height throughout the length of the tent. Plus you will get a great nights sleep on the 80mm / 3.15" thick mattress which is double layered with super high and medium density foam, enclosed in a breathable and removable canvas cover. When closed there is 190mm / 7.5" of space inside so you can leave all of your bedding and more inside the tent when you pack up.
Like the walls of the tents that are double skinned with 310gsm (+/-10%) canvas, the 3 large entrance points at the front and sides of the tent, and all the windows have an inner & outer canvas cover with a midge mesh screen in between. All the entrances and windows have high quality YKK zippers.
The electrical package provides a 12V Cig socket outlet and twin USB sockets mounted on both sides of the tent as well as a moveable tri-colour rechargeable LED light. The connection to your vehicles power is via 50AMP Andersen plug mounted beneath the tent on the left side.
With the TX27™ tent range, there is need to compromise losing your roof loading space; the tents' roof can hold up to 75Kg / 165lbs in the closed position and will still fully open and remain open with up to 35Kg / 77lbs mounted on the roof. There are high profile automotive rubber weather seals around both the lower and upper lids of the tent, preventing dust and water ingress when closed. The standard TX27™ weighs 122Kg / 269lbs, and the TX27™ MAX itself weighs 133Kg / 293lbs and is ideally suited to larger vehicles, camper trailers or toy haulers.

This is a great product. You know for people who have partners/spouses and/or children who won't come camping with you unless they will be comfortable, this tent would go a long way in convincing them to come along with you.
These are incredible tents.
Just spent 4 nights in my DX27 and it was the best nights sleep in the bush I've ever had.

Another great product but have you thought of integrating the roof rack/mounting into the tent so as to do anyway with the need for a roof rack to begin with?

One of your earlier vids shows the install of an AX27 & XT 270 Max on a Kings MT1 camper trailer. Do you think it will be possible to also install a TX27 Max ? as that would be my preferred option

Hi, we are based on the Sunshine Coast, 14 Cessna Street, Marcoola.
It looks a beautiful tent but my only concern is the weight. Coming in at 123kg without any bedding or extra things on its roof, I would have thought the total weight would be over the dynamic load limit of most roof racks and vehicle roof for that matter. My guess is they're probably only suited for utes with specifically designed alloy canopies that can handle the extra weight.

Is there only one ladder access point at the end ? Or can you also access from the side ?
You can access from the Side, however the rear access is the largest simply due to the style of tent
I have a troopy will it fit? and do they have an attachable annex room?
it would fir but the dynamic load rating would just about be exceeded.
You guys build a great tent I have the AX27 I just don't understand why you still include the same crap ladder..Its hard on the feet and I had to switch to the black alu cab ladder..otherwise wonderful products..

I’m a bit confused about this. The only reference that i can find to the roof limit weight in my Landcruiser 76 owners manual is “Avoid loading any items on the roof that will make the centre of gravity even higher”. The only reference that I could find online regarding weight limits, was on a forum. The consensus was that the weight limit of a 200, is 100kg, with it POSSIBLY increasing to 150kg with 3 or more roof bars, but the weight of these bars is included in that limit. I wish Toyota would provide a page of all the limits, in the owner’s manual. Does anyone have actual weight limits, because I love this tent and would like to buy one, but I don’t want to void my insurance.
There is a lot of conflicting information out there about Roof loads. Your best bet is to speak with your insurance company and see what their policy is.

You said these roof top tents are for larger 4x4 trucks but what if you have a smaller 4x4 like an old Nissan Navara Dual Cab what would recommend for them. Is it a weight issue as to why you wouldn't fit one of these or is a size issue.
There look very well made by the way, love the design and I love the roominess & height you get inside.
G'Day CaptainBax, either the DX27 or the Ax27 tents would be better suited for a Navara Daul Cab.
@@TheBushCompany OK, so if I have a smaller an older 4x4 like a Nissan D22 or a 2000 Hilux then the double clam shell design is out of the equation. Why is that ?, I really like that design of the Classic Max and this newer TX27 Hardshell Rooftop Tent looks to be even better designed.
@@CaptainBax The weight of the TX27 tents makes them better suited to larger vehicles or camper trailers, plus the TX27 MAX is 1.6m wide which to too wide for most dual cab canopies.
Close to 300 lbs on my roof top would crush me driving..... have to pass. 😢
Hi, would the TX27 or Max be ok on a 2016 Nissan X-Trail 4wd ST model?
The TXMax would be too big. It’s designed for camper trailers, toy haulers and large 4WD’s. Not sure about the smaller version but should be ok.
I know you Aussies make great overland products but I dare ask the cost of this great tent 😳
