Every scar, every scratch, and every bit of charring is a badge of honor for a lifetime of service to you and others, bringing joy and memory into focus. I love it, and the repair. I wish I had some of my childhood things, childhood should be treasured.
I feel the same way! I gave all my beloved toys away as a teenager to a neighbour child (there had been a house fire) I didn't regret that, but I've been working on my first doll house and the childs bedroom is from the 80s and the teenager room from the 90s lol I've bought or made all the toys from my childhood (even needlefelting a teeny horse plush I had) and its given me so much joy! Like a time capsule of my childhood lol

That little piano has quite a story to it ❤️ mine is long gone but I remember it played a song called the entertainer my mom said it was my grandfather favorite tune so you just brought a memory up for me 😊

Awwww I just love it how you referred to past doll house repair efforts as "seasons", it is so true! Every stage is a season and it changes as we learn, develop and grow with our skills and ideas. Such a wonderfully nurturing way to frame it. I hope many of your dolls learn from that and don't judge their own past efforts harshly. When we know better, we can create better! It is all part of the journey
YES NESSIE! That is EXACTLY RIGHT! Each attempt, even the perceived fails are steps towards improvements! If you haven't failed, it means you never tried! It's a myth that you'll do it perfect the 1st time or you're a FAILURE. Anyone who SEEMS to be AMAZING has TONS of "FAILS" under there belt!! They just don't let you see it!
I recently bought that same piano and it needed a few repairs. The music box was loose and I used gorilla super glue gel to hold it in place. I glued the yellowed keyboard back in place, too. Love hearing the Entertainer playing on it!
Hey there JONI! I just found out that was the name of the song! I had never opened the back of the piano! Maybe i should open it and secure the music mechanism! Thank you for the suggestion!
Aww, now it’s really a Little Gretchen special. I’m so happy you were able to salvage it and have it as a reminder of it’s journey along with yours. Your happy hands always bring me joy. I’ve missed you gurl. I got all tangled up in the hurricane that hit the Texas coast. Whew am I glad to have a/c again!

Hello Gretchen, what a lovely piano, I'm glad you were able to repair it, and continue its dolls house musical life, it will be a wonderful addition to the wedding, I can just imagine one of the dolls playing hymns on it during the wedding service.

Thank You! I was really glad to have a larger house to put it in! I removed it from the parlor of my original dollhouse because it took up too much room. I love how it fits in with this story! 😄☺️😊☺️💖💖💖

I think that song was 'the Sting'. A popular movie caused that to show up in a lot of music boxes at the time.
I was trying to choose between The Sting or The Entertainer. :)
@@figgy7099 you are correct. It is the entertainer, but some music boxes just were labeled as the sting too.

You know I was just thinking if you take a mini clothespin (wooden) and take it apart , paint it up , glue it in underneath the piano as where your feet would go.

LOLOLOLOL!! YES VICKI! I Know am well aware that many times my methods are somewhat " ROGUE". I regularly got in trouble for not following the " preferred path"!! LOLOLOLOLOL!! i'm still trying to Decide! The Doll that I had chosen to be the music teacher HER LEGS DON'T BEND! LOLOLOL! SO I need to figure something out quick!!!LOLOLOLOL!! Oh yes!!! It came out lovely. I've been interested in that Chrysnbon Piano for a Church project. But then looking at your piano..I feel like maybe I can just make one. 🤷🏻♀️ I love how this came out and I'm sure there are no regrets or guilt for taking the keyboard away from the Chrysnbon kit..lol I would not have regrets but may feel a lil guilt. 😂😂😂❤🥰
Yes I love the Chrysnbon kit piano! But I don't feel guilty cuz I actually ordered two sets of keys I'm waiting for them to come in the mail now! They sell to replacements on Amazon but I never had a need for them until now 🤣🤭😂! I'm positive you can make a beautiful piano!!
Gretchen, I didn't open the back. I just straightened it and glued it through the opening. 😊

Or the lid is down and lock, LOL best way to get out of doing dishes is to all of a sudden needing to practice my lesson. My dear mum especially loved when I played the old hymns and gospel music. 🤭🎶
YES DONNA! I hated practicing but that was a refuge from other chores!!!! My grandmother on my Daddy side lived downstairs ( I grew up in a 2 family flat). And she taught Piano lessons. So they thought I was destined to be a PIANIST! YES OLD HYMNS and GOSPEL Was ALL My GRANDMA PLAYED and TAUGHT!!! By the way....I received your package! YOU ARE SUCH A PRECIOUS DOLL!!! THANK YOU!!!

Hi Gretchen🤗 I love when you show pieces from your childhood. 🥰 The sliding doors are so charming. I couldn't help but notice the kit keyboard looked like combs. I wonder if a keyboard could be created using a black comb with some tines(?) removed and white card stock (or plastic, or..) underneath? Did you have friends who would come over after school to play dollhouse? Very precious piano, ready for a recital! 🥰✨
That's a great idea using the comb to make a keyboard I just don't have that type of patience. 🤭😂😍 Go AHEAD DOT and give it a go! I had a Barbie doll house friend for a little while. But No a 12th scale Friends until RUclips, sometimes that is why l cry. This is unbelievably Wonderful!💖🥹💖

Okay so L saw someone say it was the ENTERTAINER or the STING, but when i check the Song on RUclips Music a different tune comes up so I'm not sure.
