Like the other commenters I do applaud the transparency and honesty of showing how the economics of selling on Etsy really is. Just like in the previous video about the patterns, you've given us the real scoop that you're not going to make thousands overnight, and not actually any profit at all at first. But i definitely would like to see you keep going with these ventures and follow up in 3, 6, 9 months and a year to see if putting in the time and continuing what you're doing will eventually yield a profit when you reach a certain amount of listings... (well maybe not the ornaments which are seasonal) Will they rally and eventually turn a profit and then just keep growing as you add more and more listings, or do the fees just keep eating you alive and you just keep going further and further into the negative? This is what we want to know!
I will say in America, Thanksgiving day or week before is when trees go up. So somewhere between right before and after Halloween is prime time for personal ornament buying. For gifts, you definitely need to do ads though with Etsy during holiday times.
You show the proper reality in many of things like doing trial and error in the process and in that process there a lot to learn. Great VIdeo ,Thankyou 😄
I love the way you shown us all the truth about doing online business. Those content creator who told you they earned thousand over dollars are bullshits! They just wanted you to visit their websites to earn viewers. I am also a content creator, I do multi tasks. I do almost everything but the results are bad. You should print less and sell them in bookshops. At least you earn little.
Subscriber +1: I love the video format and the reality behind the so-called easy money seen everywhere on RUclips videos! The thumbnail is just a side note once you know the trick :). Hoping the newsletter is as good as the videos :)
Fantastic video, Jensen! I've developed an AI tool that streamlines the entire process of creation, file resizing, mockup production, and product video creation for Etsy sellers. It even includes a feature for automatically uploading all your assets to Etsy, making the entire process effortless. This tool is designed to save time and enhance productivity, allowing creators to focus more on their art and less on the logistics.
Since the holidays are coming up, would you consider revisiting this idea to view after a year if you still have these items up and tracking them from Halloween to NYE as consumer buying picks up in prep for Christmas? Or even doing something on your other 30-day videos to track up to 90 days? I truly enjoy your video, the clarity and straight forward information are very valuable as I am consider dipping into this stream of income and am trying to gather all fact and considerations, Thank you Jensen - Cheers
I think the biggest problem was the fonts you chose. They were really ugly. (And I’m your target audience - an almost 40-year old mom who bought like 10 of these kinds of Christmas ornaments for family members this year alone). Maybe try again next year with more modern/popular fonts!!
this is the reason because I prefer to sell only digital download I'm really anxious about print on demand items, seems a more complicated model of business!!
I I really love your vedios .. I am so touched , how real you showed everything .. It can help a lot of etsy seller like me , who is beginner. Thanks to u I got to know , some good info about etsy extra charges.😊😊😊
Would you say to avoid Etsy, or with the right product and knowledge there is some good that can come from it ? I am setting up my mindset to work hard this year to reach small goals at the time, it won’t be easy but with your help and hard work it might be possible to earn some extra money and eventually quit my job 🙄 Keep it up !!
Etsy is a platform that can work (as evident by the many business owners making a living on the platform). It's all about finding the right product that works for you and the platform. Good luck!
You just reminded me why I was dissatisfied with selling on Etsy last year. All those fees are insane, and I doubt sellers can actually become profitable in the first 6 months of selling on the platform
VAT shouldn't eat into your profit margin. Etsy adds VAT on top of your listing price for any UK buyer - so we as UK consumers end up paying 20% more, rather than you taking a 20% hit. As far as I understand it's similar in most of Europe. Thanks for showing all of the costs of sale on Etsy. I sympathise with your pain :) It seems on the whole you need to run Etsy ads in order to make sales, which eats up the profit. Unless you're willing to drive traffic from other sources. But then, driving traffic to Etsy seems counter to the point of using Etsy and its 'built in audience', I'd rather send people to my own website if I'm doing the work of building the traffic. All the best with future videos and challenges. I'll be watching more.
No refunds in against the law in European union. By law, buyer has a right to ship back bought item withing 14 days after receving a parcel. Thare are only few exeptions to the law

thank you Jensen for showing the reality, because other youtuber make $10,000 in first 30 days

I'd love a quick ending showing how to make the listings profitable if you were to do it again 😊
The "-" sign is missing from that thumbmail - picture, so minus 6182 USD. But I'm still glad that the video shows things as they are.

These L’s are more informative than wins. Great video.
Apart from the realness these are very entertaining to watch

Maybe you can charge a custom shipping fee to offset some of the costs? Especially for the extra costs for people who buy from UK etc etc
Please talk about affiliate marketing and products promotion too🥺🥺

Another Jensen Tung original 😌

The fees are absolutely ridiculous. Etsy is already making a ton of money off you in other ways, adding a gnarly fee is just malicious and greedy.
hey can you make full detail video on POD with no money and how to promote POD ?
I I really love your video. I trying to find a POD supplier that does glass and shaker ornament. Any recommendations?
