sarah sonal I think that is exaggerated. We are a powerful country but there are other strong and influential countries out there that can balance stuff out if Trump gets out of hand. There is the EU and China. The EU should put on its big boy pants and take a leading role and stop pushing Europeans into the arms of the far-right otherwise they will break up the EU.
If a worry is war, Trump needs to ask Congress for permission. The American population does not like war no matter what the press or other people in other countries might say. So Trump waging war on Iran or something is out of the question. Politicians are looking to get reelected.

That is a pretty dumb comment... This is the NY Times releasing what it knows to be an incredibly incendiary letter. The NY Times is one of the most well-respected and iconic publications in the world. They know exactly where the line is and you had better believe that they haven't crossed it. I am 100% sure that they know exactly who the senior official is, that the document is legitimate, and that they will never give up his/her identity. Trump can complain all he wants to but when you say and do as many stupid things as he does, it's impossible to run away from the inevitable fallout.

If you've worked your an entire adult life in a CAREER of PUBLIC SERVICE, be it Military or public office, and are chosen to be on the President's Cabinet, or within his inner council/staff, and then realize the man is completely unable/unwilling to fulfill his necessary duties for the office of President OR is using his powers to CLEARLY harm the USA, it is your MORAL, PATRIOTIC, CIVIC, and beyond all of that AMERICAN DUTY to speak out against said President even if it costs you your job, even if it is unprecedented, and moreover, you should do everything in your power to STOP such a destructive person from doing destructive, irreparable things while they hold the highest office in the world. If that isn't your absolute duty as a public servant, I don't know what is. Don't let this man destroy America. Someone smart in his cabinet needs to draw a line in the sand, and be serious about stopping him when he inevitably crosses it. Trump is not like any President whoever came before him, and the cracks are starting to show.
