Really informative video! I was invited to an Oxford interview and, just as Simon said, there were no questions that I found particularly too hard, even though some of them were pretty "inventive" and unique in a way :)
These videos are so great! I definitely liked it and you should definitely do more - you make a fabulous on-screen duo! I also really loved Jamie's head dance (and in particular that it was pointed out with a caption!) and the sound effect for Simon's throwing of a question :) Thank you both so much!
A fun-fact about PPE in America. Yale actually tried to 'copy' the Oxford programme, except that they do ethics instead of philosophy. What resulted is a major called 'PEE'. A very classy degree to have ;)
Relatively new to your work but got to say I loved every bit of the video- got everything(ingenuity, honesty, the humour ahhah). Recently got my GCSE results 7A*s, 3As and a D in literature :( and taking Further Maths,Maths,Physics,Economics and French for A-levels. Hoping to undertake either Maths or Economics& Management at Oxford. Just wanted to know how I fare in relation to the numerous competitive applicants in terms of GCSEs as I feel a bit down hearted(could have done better-ranked 4th in my year). Thanks:)
Yeah, this is so helpful please keep making it. Do international students like you still have to do A-level to apply for Oxford? or can we just use to our own countries' exam result to apply for Oxford? Do you have a student loan? Are there any difference about the loan between UK students and international students?
Great video! Great Project! ( as always I may say) It is definitely helpful! Did you know each other when you were in Oxford? How did you come up with this idea? More serious question : Do we get better chances entering in Oxford if we take specialised courses outside of school. (like Private-Tutors) Do we have to mention them in the personal statement ? Or is it just wasted money? Thanks! #OxTweet ***** PS: sometimes the music is a bit too loud :)
Hi!!! i'm applying for PPE as international student :)))) I wanted to ask you if you have some advice, or some tips for TSA. I've already done 2 past papers but i haven't reached 61%.. if I can ask, how much did you score? and, how much do I need to get an interview? and, how would you advise me to prepare in order to make my scores grow?? thank you so much!! have a nice day!!^^
I'm a from a medium-income Vietnamese family and I want to study A-level in the UK. I'm now studying IGCSE at a bilingual school in Vietnam. But my fanily budget is small so should I take 1 year intensive A-level course?
I was just watching this video and what you said about GCSE results really stuck me... I got one A*, 8As and a B with English as an additional language and just 4 years spent in England... I hadn't worked at all for those, save from cramming the night before, and have improved a lot since then. Does this mean my chances of getting into Oxford have basically gone out the window, or do I still have a chance, however slight?
Marion Guerbet It will depend on where you GCSEs sit in relation to the other students in your school. If those are above average, then I would say your chances are higher than you think
Hmm... your teachers should know. You are looking for the percentage of students that get A*-As, and then you'll be able to get idea of where you rank. Hope you're having a good bank holiday :)
I am, thank you :) Hope you are too! Just another question (sorry ^^), if my predicted grades are low (meaning something like AAB, which is a 14 in France) but I've been improving and I know, as some of my teachers do too, that I will be able to achieve AAA (which is 16 in France), should I ask them to discuss this in their recommendation letter?
Dear Jamie, I have applied for engineering at Cambridge. My UMS average is above 90% but i scored B in one module (D1), will that be a disadvantage for my application.
I don't have GCSEs (or an equivalent). I am an international student and because of G8 (German people know^^) we didn't have any exams after grade 10.. Will that disadvantage me to get an interview?

Your application is obviously less strong than if you got a higher mark in D1, however, it isn't going to exclude you all together. It sounds like your application is reasonably strong regardless, so I would focus on the next step in the application. Also, I'm quite happy that I can read everything you wrote in Japanese :D
ジェイミーさんこんにちは!サブスクライバーとしてお願いです。インタビュービデオのPART2をぜひアップロードしてください!よろしくお願いします! By the way how did you prepare for your interviews(apart from mock, reading in depth). Are the topics which i covered till now at school be sufficient to answer interview questions ?(Engineering at Cambridge). 色々とありがとうございます。

Simon, Jamie, thanks for answering all questions! :)

I like this collaboration. Do part 3!!!

So weird that you wrote this comment, I met a guy 2 days ago who did PEE at Yale!
These are really entertaining, please keep doing them!! :D
Wooooo!
SimonOxfPhys I was just wondering after you mentioned it in this video what did you do your EPQ on? :)
Charlotte Ruck I did mine on manned missions to Mars, assessing the practicality and going over the science involved
Hey, I know I’m five years late, but I’ve got a question I’d like you to answer, if you don’t mind.

I've tried to look for my school average but haven't found it... Do you have any idea where I should look? Thank you for the reply anyway!

What was the option the other 49 kids did for their aptitude tests? I couldn't hear.
About whether or not people should be allowed to wear head scarfs.
So Cambridge is more aimed towards English and the arts while Oxford is more math and science?
