2nd year was my hardest year at uni workload wise and 3rd year was hardest for mental health. I did a 3 year degree at Winchester 2009-2012! 🙌🏻 This was before the days of lecture slides being available online, if you missed a lecture, you missed a lot of content! I can't believe students nowadays could technically miss every contact hour but still get all the info they need to pass! 💜
Watches this while involved in a s*it ton of drama as a first year student. So far there is so much unbelievable amount of drama that it’s funny 😅😂 prepare yourself
I think it's a human nature to get into dramas because you will have dramas in school, work etc. We have so much drama in uni and not only regarding love relationship, but also friend betrayals, schemes, people buying grades, a lot of talk behind the back. Seriously people are acting like little kids...
um, excuse me, I'm looking to find information about college students. Is there a way to be in contact so you could tell me more about your university, the application process, etc. if you are interested?
Thank you for the reassurance about friendships! I feel like that can be so difficult at this time of year, when it's not Fresher's but you still haven't known people for very long.
I’m 9 weeks into first year at Leeds Beckett uni. My uni contact hours range between 9 hours and 24 hours, and now I’m on placement too so I have 35 hours on placement, and 9 hours in uni a week. It’s exhausting, and very easy to get overwhelmed with essays to do, exams to revise for, and no time to do so! I wish people would understand how different a nursing degree is instead of just thinking it’s the same as every other uni course
I'm currently in my first year of uni and so far loving it! I have a friendship group with the people I met on the first night of freshers who live in the same halls of residence and two of them are in the same seminar group as me. One of the girls is also my flatmate. Then in my flat, I'm living with 4 second year students and 1 third year and I actually love it because whilst they're all doing different degrees to me, they can still offer me advice and it's really lovely to hang out with them and luckily we all get along really well!
In Edinburgh, there’s not really much of a gossip culture because I think in city Uni’s, people are so much more spread, but in collegiate Unis its a closer group
From what you say in this video Oxford seems so different from other unis! I’m at Leeds and it feels a lot less like a community because everyone lives in houses, but there’s very good parts to that as well!! Gossip definitely happens here as well hahah. I’m vlogging my experience at Leeds if anyone wants to see what it’s like!
Bangor nearly 20 years ago was very unbitchy and non-gossipy. Very refreshing after my tiny high school ( years 7 to13, 2 classes of 20-odd students, sometimes 3 classes) where everyone knew everything about everybody!
Yep I do not handle things smoothly because I just have to think about Google classroom and doing my college work and I break down like I will be thinking about college work by the time I am photographing the birss
Hi Eve, I have a question, I love languages and I’m currently doing French at A level. I’m also interested in learning other languages as well and also the linguistics and grammar side of things. I really want to do languages at university but I don’t really like learning about history, politics and literature that much and I’ve been told that language courses are heavy with that stuff. I’m not sure whether it’s worth taking languages if i don’t really like that stuff. Ideally I’d want to do advanced french at uni and then 2 languages from beginner as part of a modern languages course. I’ve also seen courses which combine modern languages with translation and interpreting and that definitely interests me. But from your perspective, do you think it would be fine to take languages if I’m not so interested in the history and politics side of it? Also do you think the interpreting and translating with the modern languages course would partially replace the stuff to do with history and politics etc so I’d be doing more of translating and interpreting than learning about that? And if so would it be the same if I took modern languages or a language with linguistics? I don’t know if you’ll know the answer but I don’t really know who to ask about this stuff x
Omg what a coincidence! My name is Grace too and I love learning languages and am considering studying a foreign language with linguistics at university! Haha I just find that so funny. Well I hope Eve replies because I'm kind of curious to see how she'll resond
loved your video!! so as an international students i've been wondering how flatmetes work? like do you share a kitchen with flatmates and a communal area and then have like rooms next to each other?? im really clueless hahah
I go to Brighton uni, I'm in my third year and I don't find it that bitchy. On nights out and stuff, it can get a bit bitchy and girls being a bit horrible, but on campus and in uni houses it's not bitchy at all. Our uni isn't that bitchy thankfully
A contact hour is any hour where you have a member of university staff in front of you (lectures, seminars, labs etc.) As opposed to hours you spend reading, studying etc. Hope that helps!
She plans to be a broadcast journalist and has written videos on it in the past- being able to speak 2 other languages is SO valued in the working world so I'm sure Eve will be fine :)

Katy Goodall you used “bitchy” 4 times in a 5 line paragraph 🤭 calm down
It's so different to normal unis (you have colleges) .
It's cool that you can live in single sex corridors too.
Her pillow case😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Part 2 plz 🙌💕🌹
hey i'm in year 12 lmao so i don't know about a lot of uni stuff yet, this might sound stupid but what are contact hours?
A contact hour is any hour where you have a member of university staff in front of you (lectures, seminars, labs etc.) As opposed to hours you spend reading, studying etc. Hope that helps!
U look so good
I’m confused, what does she plan on working as with her “language degree”
Big Mouthh she’s already studying, why would she plan to study with a degree 🤔
chloe archer I mean work oops
She plans to be a broadcast journalist and has written videos on it in the past- being able to speak 2 other languages is SO valued in the working world so I'm sure Eve will be fine :)
Having a language degree gives you opportunity to pursue a number of careers
Thank you .eve bennett
