  • This is a test of an Old Chemotron Micro 1-EV Fire Suppression system. These systems were using Carbon Dioxide (CO2) as the extinguishing agent, the tanks were disconnected for the test. I am aware the the Spectralert Advance is not mounted correctly. I tried fixing it but the junction box is right next to the panel and there was no time to move it. Maybe next time!

i have a suggestion, if you want to get the strobes visible on video, film at around 30 FPS. I had some better shots that way.

Ooooo another video featuring an EST WG4 outdoor horn strobe in action, now I wish there was a video of a speaker strobe version going off

I'm on the alarm side, so fire suppression systems are like landmines for us. "Don't test that one!"
But I've been around for a suppression test or two, and it's a really neat thing to watch.

Love this series of halon system test videos, it’s really neat to see field systems going off as they all act differently

I'm guessing the part where it does the one beep per second is pre-Alert then when it's doing code-3 that is pre-discharge and I'm guessing after the timer runs out it switches to continuous?

@GaryBeltz you are very close, the 1 beep per second given by the Advance P2R is pre-discharge. Then when the timer expires, the code 3 tone given is for discharge.

@@ZacharyCesario that's awfully quick for the time between pre-discnarge and discharge. From my understanding the system is supposed to wait 30 seconds before discharge.
