Can you make a tutorial for making a shark tail? Because I’m making my first fursuit currently, but I’m not certain how to do it. The shark tail, I mean.
late but look up "super motion tail tutorial", it doesn't talk about the shape but if you understand the theory of it you can transfer it to a shark tail shape! I will be using that tutorial for ideas for my own tail
I love to see a video from you reacting to your old suits and talk about its mistakes and teach us how to improve these mistakes. I think it would be super insteresting and helpful! Btw, I love your videos! 💕
i'd love to see the tail sequel!! i am a newer maker and have a love for long tails, so alot of this is mystical to me yet. i have a large floor dragger tail (much like an dutchie) but i have made attempts to make a long tail that stays up and bobs behind me that still looks natural in motion. its so hard to explain in text uhhhh ok but the main thing is, when a tail sticks out alot it flops to one side or another rather than just staying behind me, even with foam backing and a belt. just how weight wants to distribute. whilst a raptor tail is easy because it can be rigid, having a long, thin bobbing natural flowing tail is a little piece of magic i hope one day to conquer
There are a few videos and guides on spines for fursuit tails which have support for themselves and wiggle and flow more naturally, and look amazing, sounds like something that might help you. Rarsuit's Dragon Tail Tutorial on Livejournal is good for a look at that method, but that one seems quite work, material, and tools intensive. There are similar guides achieving a similar effect using a spine made of a pool noodle! Assuming you haven't found those already, maybe they'll give you some ideas. :) Here's a vid of a tail, made similarly to the dragon tail tutorial, in action: ruclips.net/video/96yg9yRQPj8/видео.html Looks awesome! I hope this is useful to you! I'm also a newer maker looking to achieve the same kind of thing from my tail! :)
I was going to ask about big tails that stick out like what I see people do for Manokits, but foam sounds like a good idea! I'm not sure how I'll end up attaching it because I plan to do my fursuit in parts with separate pants, but I'll have to experiment with it. I won't be starting for a while, but this comes in handy!
i love the kitten!! great info too, i had never heard of kidney belts before! as a new suitmaker ive been thinking about tails and how some are attached and detached to the bodysuit. I think for small tails like deer or corgis it would be fine but i agree with you that i prefer detached tails
On thing I thought of when using the kidney belt that'll make it easier when putting the tail on is maybe putting a zipper so you can unzip it to make the hole bigger and then zip it back up to not show the belt. and the placement I think would be easy, like make the whole big enough for the base to fit and then cut little line up from the circle, making sure the whole tail will fit through it and then place the zipper, and that'll make it easier? I'm not sure it's just a thought.
I feel called out, thats exactly what happened to me at AC 2018s dance comp, and this vid was made right after that haha. Love the vids btw, keep it up.
Would you possibly be open to making tips & tricks on floor draggers, free motion tails, hand paws, and/or lining a fursuit? idk if you still make these videos anymore so it's okay if not Your work is amazing btw and your kitty is adorable 🐈⬛
Great video I didn't know there were 2 ways to make the belt loop part of a tail I thought there was just 1, the type on your tail. Very helpful thank you. By the way, your kitty is very cute and your suit is very beautiful love the shade of orange.
To be honest it’s actually very “IDEAL” to have two belt loops opposed to just one. I have a very very long floor dragger similar to a dutchie however I’m a Drat, so not quite the same species but in a way somewhat similar.. anyway, the way I secure my tail to the back spinal cord of my pants is quite simple having the two loops on the tail really helps, especially with jeans/pants that have a belt loop of its own right at the very back right where the lower spine is located, because of this I’m able to loop the belt through one of the tails loops, then the jean loop.. then the other tail loop, which literally secures it to my spinal cord area where a tail should actually sit. Instead of it just flying all around your back end in general. It should really be sitting at your middle lower spinal cord.
I have a dragging tail that is sewn to my body suit. I made it so I have a zipper to take the stuffing out when I wash it and I have 2 belt loops to support the weight as it is quite heavy.
Hiya! I was wondering if you could make a tutorial on avian tails! There are literally none that I can find. Since you've had a lot of experience, is there anything you can do? I'm not making a suit, but I just want to know if I could make just a tail. Thanks, Cloudy OvO
I have a raccoon fursona so qwq the tail gonna be hard to make I’m planning on making my first fursuit this summer I have been doing some research .... a LOT of research
Hey! I know I'm not elk, but ill give you some answers based on my experience. Depending on the tail, I'd say point it in the direction of the rest of your fursuit. If it's a standalone tail, point the fur towards the ground/the tip of the tail. I hope this helps!
Also, I think a good thing to do is study the fursuits used in Disney parks. What kind of strategies and ideas were applied to them? Perhaps you can try and replicate those ideas on your own fursuit. Example: Mickey's smile can change depending on how low the wearer's head is facing. This is so that his smile isn't "perpetual." If you think about it, actually, all fursuits with an overhanging top muzzle have this ability... Idk how many more ideas are in the Disney suits, but studying them might still be a good idea.
I would love to see a Step-by-step, if there is one, or if you could make one; On Shark, Whale, and dinosaur tails. Could be one, or any of the others. I wanna get a concept going, because those creators are what I have in my arsenal. (Oc family, whatever.) I like your vids and very cute cat, but tends to get in the way or a bother. If it was me, I would show the cat a few times then shut the door, don’t worry about it for a few minutes and get the video done, because I don’t like getting interrupted by Anything. But I do Love cats, but not as much as birds, fish, reptiles, and similar. 💙 Take care! ~Nyx Nightwing.
So i was gonna build a full body fursuit but make the leggings and torso separate pieces to allow it to become a partial. Anybody done this before and maybe have tips, especially with hiding the difference between them when fullsuiting.
My friend showed me this cool thing where there were 2 tails. One was shaped like a power outlet at the end, and the other looked like a socket. And you could plug them into each other like a real power outlet and power socket! I really want to try making these with my friend, but I actually can't think of how this could be accomplished! Any ideas?
Would a three foot tail be a bad idea? I’m asking because my sona has a really long tail but I’m shortening it for the fursuit but it is also a really slim tail Thanks for reading
What about using a magnet this is good for partials buy small circle magnets glue a magnet on th tail and place the other magnet in your pants and hover your tail over the magnet and bam
The problem with your tip videos is that you never SHOW what you're talking about, just using words. People can greatly benefit with a demonstration so they know exactly what you're saying. Also, just listening to words is very boring and uninteresting. I highly recommend that you put more work in your videos.
NEVER apologize for the kitty... i love her
Oh my gosh kitten

Can you make a tutorial for making a shark tail? Because I’m making my first fursuit currently, but I’m not certain how to do it. The shark tail, I mean.
basically, do the same thing as you would do with a dragon tail, but make 4 big claw shapes as the fins on the end and sew it together ^^.
I am pretty sure Mugiwara Cosplay has a tutorial for that

this video is informational, there's a cute kitten AND i just love staring at ur paws
Your cat sounds EXACTLY like my Beatrix! I looked around for her when I heard your cat meow lol
Kitten content!!
Make a kitten video
To solve the popping out backing... i put down EVA foam then glue on fleece, ladder sew the edges, and add the loop. YW!
Thanks for all this wonderful information! I’m going to be sure to add a foam back for my tail!
Oh me gosh, yes. Elk Dragon uploaded! ^.^

Could you do a tips and techniques video for moving jaws, you might have a video on moving jaws already, idk, but it’s just a suggestion!

_ garabaldi this is what I do aswell, it keeps the tail in the same spot through suiting so you don’t need to go and fix the position every 20 minutes

I've tried to make a few tails before XD they didn't look the best but I might try to make another one :) thanks for the advice on making tails
Yes!
I’m gonna be making some tails soon! Thank you for this!
Random question, where did you get the hookfang and stormfly from 😂
My cat was weary of my first project (unfinished) a realistic rat. Second: tooney angel dragon, no problem
I have a raccoon fursona so qwq the tail gonna be hard to make I’m planning on making my first fursuit this summer I have been doing some research .... a LOT of research
Question? What direction does the fur on the tail go? Like when making the two halves for the tail what direction should the fur be facing?

Does anyone know if it's possible to put an armature wire in the tail to make it poseable?
I don't quite know how but YES
Late but yes my first tail I used a wire coat hanger I made straight and put it inside but it can be difficult as you have to cover it in foam first
