Mein größte Angst ist das Kintaro kastiert wird und wenn noch ein Baby kommt ein Junge ist wo soll er hin wenn Erwachsen ist. Also ich hoffe das sowas nicht passiert. I am pleased that the zoo is making Genki’s health a priority. For a while there I wanted another baby too but that was selfish. She has had 2 beautiful boys and I think she has done her part in contributing to her species. She is an older lady and deserves to enjoy some peace and quiet- without an infant. Besides she still has the cutie pie Kintaro who pesters her regularly! Although I think it’s kind of their “play “… Genki is a sweetheart . The way Momotaro is combined with her age I doubt very much she will ever get pregnant again. People should be happy to watch this calm gorilla family as it is.
Freddy is 50 years but she has fostered two gorilla babies that were rejected by their mother in the Cleveland zoo. Even more shocking she occasionally nurses them. She is a very good foster mother.
My mother had her 9th baby in 1964 at the age of 40 (I was 13 and the oldest of us was 16). We were all born healthy. It can be risky to have a baby at 40 or older, but my mother was lucky. (Her mother had 15 children).

The female in Japan he is referring to that gave birth at 40 is Momo’s own mother Momoko. Sumomo is his newest baby sister which was hand raised for a few months because Momoko became sick for awhile. But she is now with the troop and had been thriving for over a year. Genki is is wonderful mother so if it is gods will for her to have a baby it will happen.

Genki has given the world two beautiful male gorillas in Gentaro and Kintaro. I say let her retire and eat her favorite foods to her heart's content. This is the healthiest and most energetic I have seen Genki in years. Afterall, she is still dealing with a high-energy 5-year-old. Should it happen naturally, and Genki becomes pregnant, I have no doubt the keepers and veterinarians will do their best to ensure the good health of Genki. and

I truly hope she doesn't get pregnant- not only because I would worry about her health, but because they would run into the same problem they're facing with Gentaro right now, and soon Kintaro- no place to put them. Perhaps a chance might come for her to foster a baby, as we saw in Cincinnati- but again, where would they put the baby when it grew up?
There’s always a possibility. Nene was 40 when she had Kiyo, Momoko was 38 when she had Sumomo. I agree let it be natural, she’s been a good mom to her babies.
Thank you for giving us so much information about Genki's care! It sounds like they are prioritizing her health, rather than focusing on the public interest a new baby would generate. Genki deserves to have a comfortable old age. For that reason, I truly hope she is unable to conceive.
It is right & important to consider Genki's health for providing another baby and navigating through another pregnancy at her senior age. It is also very important to consider Genki's ability to care for her infant after its birth-- producing enough milk to feed the infant, long hours of supervising the baby to keep it safe, teaching it how to survive & be a part of the troop over the course of several years.
Genki is my favorite gorilla in the entire world. She's so sweet, a great mom & she's so expressive. I really hope she gets pregnant soon and have a girl this time. She has needed dental work for a long time. If it's the zoo considers her health as top priority, why haven't they got her teeth fixed already? When we need to go to the dentist, we go, so why haven't they fixed her teeth? She's is so special and very important to her family. She's also very entertaining and fun to watch.

The Zoo Keeper is completely right.... 38 is old for a human female to give birth & we have much easier lives compared to theirs... Genki has had a difficult time lately, with her health & with 2 growing son's both at such different stages in their own lives & a mate who is really only just reaching maturity now.. add to that the lack of space and the fact that another baby may well mean our beloved Gentaro is forced to leave his family to make way for the new comer would make that little family highly stressed & devastated, that would be unfair on a new baby Also, if Genki suddenly becomes "on heat" the fighting will start between all 3 males🤦🏼♀️ both Gentaro and Kintaro were extremely interested in what was going on last time & that put Momotaro off & made him angry & aggressive 🤷🏼♀️ No let Genki have a rest from babies and let her build up her strength and have a longer, healthier & ultimately happier life, she's such a character really but as a mother she stays in the background, calm's everyone down, gets pushed around etc, etc... she deserves some peace and quiet 😂😂 ❤❤❤❤

Genki enjoys her food so much. I love seeing her happily eating. Kintaro looks like Genki’s ‘mini me’. He really looks so much like mum ❤ Gentaro doesn’t play with Kinny anymore (or Kinny doesn’t want to play with him?) so he’s trying to get mum to wrestle and play but she’s just not into it. Lol. I love how Momotaro will play with Kintaro now. It’s so lovely to see Momo being a big kid and enjoying being with his little son ❤
No need for another baby at all. Genki has done her part and now she needs some quiet and peace, watching her older sons grow. Momotaro will get other opportunities in future.
Genki's 'aging life' should as a requirement, be safe and enjoyable. If pregnant she would be a geriatric mother and with her other health issues could make her final years very difficult. Genki is a wonderful gorilla and has produced two sons, one of whom she still cares for to some extent. I hope the zoo will do nothing to encourage a pregnancy. If she becomes pregnant naturally, that will be unfortunate and for her sake, I hope that doesn't happen. ❤Genki❤
Thank you GL. Genki's health and well being comes first and I am glad the Kyoto Zoo is so mindful of her health. Genki has the most beautiful eyes. She is looking so healthy now and I would like her to continue a healthy quality of life. Momoka is 40 now and she had complications partly due to her age. I work with human moms that deliver and there are more complications with moms over 35 years age. I dont know what 38 years in human life is but Genki is high risk for complications. And with her dental caries and missing digits. Ahh. Pregnancy would complicate her health issues. I know alot of people would love to see Genki with another baby. As I consider all the health factors, I have put aside my wish for her to have another baby in lieu of Genkis quality of life. She is my favorite gorilla and I love her so much. Soulful eyes. 💚
Nene did not have missing digits and dental caries. Actually poor girl only has one tooth now. Up until now I had always thought Nene was one of the healthiest elder gorillas other than that nagging hip pain. When she was 40 she was sprite. And they have more space to run and get exercise. All things considered. Shabani and Nene was such a love match despite their age and up until 2 years ago were still mating. They are quite a pair. I wish Nene well. The Japanese zoo is not transparent about her condition. Mobility in the gorilla world is important. I am not going to presume her outcome and wish for the best.

True - Momoko was 40 when she had Sumomo and then, as you know, she suffered badly from anemia. Nene was also 40 when she gave birth to Kiyomasa. Toto has no offspring.

I'm late on viewing this video, but I don't believe Genki will ever get pregnant again. She really shouldn't. I do think she'd make a wonderful surrogate, though, but that would depend on Momotaro as well. The risks for anesthesia are already great for great apes, that would greatly excel for a pregnant female Genki's age. Plus, since she's had dental issues in the past, another pregnancy can cause calcium deficiency and other dental issues. Let Genki enjoy the rest of her life like Nene. Maybe if another female was introduced to Momotaro, there would be hope for another western infant, but those chances are slim, especially with Gentaro being his age. He may try to mate with a new female., then that would cause issues if they're all housed together. As always, thanks for the update, GL. ❤

It is right & important to consider Genki's health for providing another baby and navigating through another pregnancy at her senior age. It is also very important to consider Genki's ability to care for her infant after its birth-- producing enough milk to feed the infant, long hours of supervising the baby to keep it safe, teaching it how to survive & be a part of the troop over the course of several years.

Genki is my favorite gorilla in the entire world. She's so sweet, a great mom & she's so expressive. I really hope she gets pregnant soon and have a girl this time. She has needed dental work for a long time. If it's the zoo considers her health as top priority, why haven't they got her teeth fixed already? When we need to go to the dentist, we go, so why haven't they fixed her teeth? She's is so special and very important to her family. She's also very entertaining and fun to watch.

The Zoo Keeper is completely right.... 38 is old for a human female to give birth & we have much easier lives compared to theirs... Genki has had a difficult time lately, with her health & with 2 growing son's both at such different stages in their own lives & a mate who is really only just reaching maturity now.. add to that the lack of space and the fact that another baby may well mean our beloved Gentaro is forced to leave his family to make way for the new comer would make that little family highly stressed & devastated, that would be unfair on a new baby
Also, if Genki suddenly becomes "on heat" the fighting will start between all 3 males🤦🏼♀️ both Gentaro and Kintaro were extremely interested in what was going on last time & that put Momotaro off & made him angry & aggressive 🤷🏼♀️
No let Genki have a rest from babies and let her build up her strength and have a longer, healthier & ultimately happier life, she's such a character really but as a mother she stays in the background, calm's everyone down, gets pushed around etc, etc... she deserves some peace and quiet 😂😂 ❤❤❤❤

Gentaro doesn’t play with Kinny anymore (or Kinny doesn’t want to play with him?) so he’s trying to get mum to wrestle and play but she’s just not into it. Lol. I love how Momotaro will play with Kintaro now. It’s so lovely to see Momo being a big kid and enjoying being with his little son ❤
For now Gentaro doesn't paly with Kintaro much. Not sure if the situation lasts or not. It is not like that Gentaro dislikes Kintaro.
No need for another baby at all. Genki has done her part and now she needs some quiet and peace, watching her older sons grow. Momotaro will get other opportunities in future.

Genki's 'aging life' should as a requirement, be safe and enjoyable. If pregnant she would be a geriatric mother and with her other health issues could make her final years very difficult. Genki is a wonderful gorilla and has produced two sons, one of whom she still cares for to some extent. I hope the zoo will do nothing to encourage a pregnancy. If she becomes pregnant naturally, that will be unfortunate and for her sake, I hope that doesn't happen. ❤Genki❤

Thank you GL. Genki's health and well being comes first and I am glad the Kyoto Zoo is so mindful of her health. Genki has the most beautiful eyes. She is looking so healthy now and I would like her to continue a healthy quality of life. Momoka is 40 now and she had complications partly due to her age. I work with human moms that deliver and there are more complications with moms over 35 years age. I dont know what 38 years in human life is but Genki is high risk for complications. And with her dental caries and missing digits. Ahh. Pregnancy would complicate her health issues. I know alot of people would love to see Genki with another baby. As I consider all the health factors, I have put aside my wish for her to have another baby in lieu of Genkis quality of life. She is my favorite gorilla and I love her so much. Soulful eyes. 💚

Nene did not have missing digits and dental caries. Actually poor girl only has one tooth now. Up until now I had always thought Nene was one of the healthiest elder gorillas other than that nagging hip pain. When she was 40 she was sprite. And they have more space to run and get exercise. All things considered. Shabani and Nene was such a love match despite their age and up until 2 years ago were still mating. They are quite a pair. I wish Nene well. The Japanese zoo is not transparent about her condition. Mobility in the gorilla world is important. I am not going to presume her outcome and wish for the best.

I think the Gorilla that gave birth aged 40 was Momoko who is also Momotaro's mother, I think she had 5 in toto.
True - Momoko was 40 when she had Sumomo and then, as you know, she suffered badly from anemia. Nene was also 40 when she gave birth to Kiyomasa. Toto has no offspring.

I think it is unfair for Genki to have a baby now. Look at Momotaro's mother after giving birth to Sumono. She was too ill to look after her properly. There was also another gorilla in another zoo abroad who died not long after giving birth to a baby boy. Luckily, his female relative took him on.

I'm late on viewing this video, but I don't believe Genki will ever get pregnant again. She really shouldn't. I do think she'd make a wonderful surrogate, though, but that would depend on Momotaro as well. The risks for anesthesia are already great for great apes, that would greatly excel for a pregnant female Genki's age. Plus, since she's had dental issues in the past, another pregnancy can cause calcium deficiency and other dental issues. Let Genki enjoy the rest of her life like Nene. Maybe if another female was introduced to Momotaro, there would be hope for another western infant, but those chances are slim, especially with Gentaro being his age. He may try to mate with a new female., then that would cause issues if they're all housed together. As always, thanks for the update, GL. ❤

途中でお客さんの出入りはないです。
一度始まると扉が閉まりますので途中参加はたぶん不可能です。1時間未満なので、誰も出ても行かないです。
