We were like no fcking way, you just got ripped off, she started tripping on our way to Santa Monica beach and we didn't believer her, till we tried it and began the incredible ride. crazy shit.
First one I went to was at the abandoned water park outside of Barstow in 1999. I also made that drive out to Tulare in 2000. All together I went about five or six times up to the last one at the Coliseum but none since they moved to Vegas.
The days when we went for the music and not to take pics for instagram. It’s waaaay different now. Though the experience is much more enjoyable now. Clean(ish) bathrooms and edible food are huge pluses over the old days.
nocturnal wonderland was my first event 80.000 + i spent 25+ yrs in the scean most of my time in the denver scean & believe me the party scean was off the hook moonshine events skylab events caffeine events global dance festivals i started dancing at 8 yrs old on the streets of east la & long beach danced with triad dragons for more than 15 yrs i still enjoy dnb & breakbeats but at 61 i am not as limber as i used to be however i still can express my bboy skills a my age has not gotten the best of me yet. EDC from what ive seen looks to be one of the best massive venues to date 450.000+ some of the best energy ive ever witnessed is through physical movement & dance & reached a euphoric states during many venues some of the best memories of my life... one love to all our brother & sister party people in the world. never stop your physical movement. dance safe...
This is incorrect. EDC 2001 took place at Hansen Dam in Pacoima, CA (minutes outside of LA) and attendance was closer to 8,000 and it was shut down early. I was there.
More of a decline than an evolution. 1999 = no smartphones or selfies, people actually danced. 2024 = everyone’s glued to their phone just filming the DJ or posing.
I will say 2023 was bad. Rude crowd overrall and it was beyond crowded. As my first one and going with a veteran thats veen going since 2013, its sad how we wont be returning... 😢
