Saw it both on TV and in Harbour Lights in Southampton. Although I usually prefer having control over my own surroundings when watching a film, the nature of A Field in England means that seeing it on the big screen gave me a richer experience, especially with regards to sound.
Love this film, watched it on Film 4 and instantly brought it on Blu-ray, I think that this is a fantastic idea, and this film is well worth a watch, and in my opinion, well worthy of my money!
I liked it and so far Ben Wheatley has not disappointed in four films in as many years. Down Terrance was darkly comic and disturbing, Kill List had some humour but was more dark, Sightseers had both in spades, A Field In England was bold, challenging and rewarding. He will be remembered in 5 years, hopefully will have done plenty more by then. Though if you expected standard and usually unoriginal films so common today, his stuff is not for you.
I’m genuinely confused by this channel this video as of me watching it right now has 18k views that’s a lot! But somehow it barely brakes 100likes and only 23 comments?
I wish I could have seen it in the cinema but unfortunately it wasn't playing near me. I watched it on film4 then bought the Blu Ray. I definitely think this is the way forward especially with independent films.
I wouldn't say it solves piracy. Because Its immediately released on Blu-ray I could download a great copy now. Couldn't do that with Man of Steel or Pacific Rim.
Personally, I'd love to see if a simultaneous release would work across regions. I had a quick look around on the internet from here in Australia ... nothing. IMHO it would only work if someone with an international name, pulling a name out of the hat - Joss Whedon, was behind it. So, Joss instead a spending a few weeks filming 'Much Ado' in between blockbusters - how about something a lttle more off beat?
I know you're trollin, and your opinión doesnt really deserve anything other tan scorn, so badly it is expressed, but while I do think hes overrated, I admire his originality and personality, its very rare these days in horror films, or any films
I wanted it on VHS.
Like she said, this is perfect for independent movies. I saw it on TV and then bought the bluray. Very cool and unique movie.

EXTRAORDINARY FILM.
"As you said in your book....."
Subtle.

Have you seen Mean Girls? Just because a film is aimed at teenage girls doesn't mean it's "tripe". It's a great film.
Undoubtably the film of the year
I thought Kill List was really good, so I'm definitely going to check this out.
Modern masterpiece.

This is the future ....it makes cinema more exciting than the studio led multiplex model.
Is it being shown again on film 4 any time soon?

...do you mean 'pretension'? That's rhetorical btw.

Sequel to "Kill-List" please.!
thats how badly captain america did?
An interview with an agenda. But still, many good points made and food for thought remains.
Film Four used to be a good channel when it was prescription based. Now it just shows any old tripe. Mean Girls, anyone?
IT WAS ON TV!!!!!! fuuuu!
