Fighting Network Rings, trademarked as RINGS, is a Japanese combat sport promotion that has lived three distinct periods: puroresu promotion from its inauguration to 1995, mixed martial arts promotion from 1995 to its 2002 disestablishment, and the revived mixed martial arts promotion from 2008 onward.
I think 3 are probably works tbh but Tamura was very legit. He was the first person to beat Henzo Gracie and went to a draw with prime Frank Shamrock. He’s maybe one of the most underrated fighters of his time. A good portion of his losses came from size mismatches similar to Sakuraba. Probably the best shoot wrestler of that era and transitioned to MMA too late in his career to gain the same level of fame as Funaki or Sakuraba (who he beat in his final match both age 40 at that point unfortunately though)
@@tosemoney1568 Some of these are works as Rings was a Pro Wrestling promotion for the most part but Tamura was a very good fighter too. He had legit wins over Renzo Gracie, Jeremy Horn, Dave Menne, Pat Miletich, Minowa, Sakuraba, Funaki and should have got the decision over Frank Shamrock. I would say while Sakuraba was better prime for prime than Tamura I would say Tamura was always a better fighter than guys like Masakatsu Funaki and Minoru Suzuki, Tamura adapted to fights involving strikes much better.
Sakuraba's senpai
The Japanese Buzzsaw
Most of the fights in this videos weren't even MMA.....
They were just shoot wrestling
