; Premaprabhu, Please explain which Brahmins gave what solutions to which problems? Hinduism/ Sanatan dharm claims to believe and follow AHINSHA parmo dharma while glorifying through singing hymns and worshiping mythological Katils like Ram, Krishna, and Shiva, who beheaded his son and as a fool replaced it with a large and heavy head of a slaughtered baby elephant crushing the beheaded lifeless body lying on the ground creating a composite MURDA/Ganapathi worshiped by the Hindus for good luck and removing life obstacles, instead of removing the MURDA/ GANAPATHI for cremation. Bhagwat Gita FALSELY claims to contain the verbal discourse Krishna supposedly gave Arjun at the Mahabharath war of 5561 BCE. Both Arjun and Krishna died without leaving any manuscript necessary for the reliable printing of the Gita. In fact, Krishna was born in 3228 BCE, ~ 2333 years AFTER the Mahabharat War of 5561 BCE. A truth not shared with the Hindu andhviswasis. The late Ram and Krishna are claimed to be the avatars of Vishnu without presenting any evidence in the last 5000+ years of Hindu History. WHY? Is It JHOOT too! Valmiki, and later Tulsidas Ramayan, narrates that Sri Ram, in rage and revenge, killed Ravan and Khumbhkaran for Sita haran with the help of Hanuman, a flying monkey with a flaming tail that is claimed to have swallowed the Sun millions of times larger and too hot go nearby. No Hindu, brahmin, or not dares to correct when no such animal/ monkey ever existed, nor can it. Ram may have been the son of Maharaj Dashrath, but Ramayan's mythology lacks the truth. Facts lead to the truth missing in Hinduism/ Sanatam dharm. Think and use common sense and convert as millions of Hindus have done. It is a personal choice. Satyemeva Jayete.

Jason has got it right 100%. Very impressive.
Oppenheimer mistranslated the text somewhat. He thought Kaal means death, while it means time. For more, read ahead.
The actual thing is as follows. You will see that Oppenheimer used this as a consolation that if he hadn't built the atomic bomb, Hilter would have. The speech basically just means to say that you do your dharma (duty, do the right thing) no matter how difficult it is.
    Bhagwat Geeta 11:32
    श्रीभगवानुवाच |
    कालोऽस्मि लोकक्षयकृत्प्रवृद्धो

When Arjun was hesitating to go to war against his evil cousin brothers (the Kauravas) in the battlefield, Krishna took his Vishwaroopam form (ruclips.net/video/w9SjeIuq3Qg/видео.html) and said this to Arjun.
"I am mighty Time, the source of destruction that comes forth to annihilate the worlds. Even without your participation, the warriors arrayed in the opposing army shall cease to exist."
Basically, since everything that exists is first born, it sustains and then it is destroyed / dies. Be it stars, planets or lifeforms. Time will destroy the members of the opposing army as well, with or without you. So, Arjun, you do your dharma (duty) and fight.

This video just appeared in my RUclips feed just as the Gita once appeared in my life, as a paperback book which some academic ( probably retiring from my university) had left behind on a table when they emptied their office in the hope that the books would find good homes. My eyes fell on it and took it home to read. I was blown by the exchange between Krishna and Arjuma. Thus started my discovery of sanatana dharma. When you have grown up within Western culture which so celebrates human will, it's challenging to accept that you have no control and must accept that there is a greater purpose which you cannot see. In this moment of human history, the atomic bomb needed to be invented. Yes it killed many innocent Japanese civilians but all through the cold war the threat of absolute annihilation forced competing countries to keep talking. The film being made now invites us to reflect about the power of AI but it also comes at a time when warmongering in the American neocons' proxy war in Ukraine against the Russians has again put us at risk of a nuclear conflict. Krishna's line from the Gita maybe tells us that the American empire will also die with the passage of time and there is no point fighting it.

Very good video. I've always felt that a majority of people misunderstand why Oppenheimer quoted this particular Sloka. Oppenheimer understood the Pandora's box they had just opened and yet possessed the wisdom that anybody who would perish would ultimately perish due to time ( Kala). Oppenheimer himself had very little if nothing to do with it just as Arjuna would not be the hand of death in performing his dharma as a Ksyathriya. I think he was attempting to solace himself through the wisdom he possessed from the Sri Gita. Still there must of been great conflict within him, just as there was with Arjun. I feel it is very appropriate and interesting that this came to his consciousness at that time. Who knows if it was a justification or not......

Thanks for this! I had previously thought that Oppenheimer quoting this was an expression of regret - akin to “what have I done?” But after viewing this explanation of the context of that saying within Hindu scripture, I now think it’s much more likely that Oppenheimer was saying this as absolution for his “creation” - telling himself that he was simply a tool of the divine will in bringing this form of destruction to human hands. That explanation would also be more consistent with his interview from the mid-sixties where he basically said that since the US generals believed using the bomb was necessary, he was fine with the decision. (When do military leaders *not* think overwhelming force is necessary? 🙄)

One example: The promotion of the idea that nuclear bombs leave the targeted area area contaminated and unlivable for decades is questionable. Vegetation was observed growing about a month after the bombing, and restoration was done in two years. Both cites were comprised of mostly wood structures, and those were incinerated, but stone block buildings remained standing. A conventional fire bomb would accomplish the same thing. It's tedious, but research will reveal many contradictions and unproved hypotheses.

@@awakenotwoke7949 maybe but I think that contamination is a real problem. How do you explain all the radioactive side effects people have been dealing with?

    • @uchihagaeshi1169
      @uchihagaeshi1169 Год назад

@awakenotwoke7949 oh no I completely agree with you there. Coincidentally i just learned from my friend the other day about what you said haha that the cities weren't radioactive after a short time. But there are several reasons behind that. The bomb itself doesn't have much radioactive physical material for sure. It was also detonated way up in the air, so a lot of the radioation went up in the mushroom cloud anyway. But there was still contamination from rain that contained radiation in the following days I believe, and those things did get contaminatined. And there were still a lot of side effects such as babies being born with effects due to the radiation so there were long term effects too.
Anyway I'm not sure there is any promotion of the idea that the bombs leave the cities devastated for decades. Everyone knows the cities were rebuilt and people live there lol. It's public, open knowledge. There is no nefarious falsifying information in that sense. The misconception among average people like me that they leave them in radioactive fallout for decades is more an unintentional happening because people get mixed up with Chernobyl or other radioactive reactors, and the effects of radiation and atomic energy are definitely not exaggerated there because that place stayed radioactive for decades. But those have a lot of actual radioactive physical materials which cause that too.
I'm not even trying to argue but besides, the whole point of the bomb isn't the fallout but the massiveness of the bomb itself. There is no conventional fire bomb that would do that lol. Why would they falsify information about the fallout to make it scary, the size of the explosion itself is scary enough lol and would do that for them. Besides nuclear fallout is definitely real and happens in the case of reactors for example.
But the bomb was equal to 20,000 tons of dynamite. The amount of energy that gets released in nuclear fission and fusion is enormous. It's why our sun is powered. There is no falsifying or skewing information there, it's just, as Oppenheimer and the other scientists would say, a fact of nature. Of the Tao. Making it scary or not is up to the individual.
Anyway, the movie is not even about that, it's more about Oppenheimer the man and his life, how he led the making of the bomb, the team, and the impact it all had on him as a person.
Anyway I'm not trying to argue brother/sister, I just thought I'd try to clarify some stuff because spreading confusion and fear is wrong. I definitely understand where you're coming from and why you said it though.

It's important to understand the big picture and context...Arjuna is a great warrior but he's hesitant to fight because his great grandfather who he held in great respect, his own Guru (Drona) and several others are stacked up against him in the opposite side who he'd have to kill. So suddenly comes to brief when this reality dawns on him. He wonders what victory would eventually bring about. It's when Krishna ( who knew this was all going to happen and decided before hand to become his charioteer) steers Arjuna through his confusion and maze and that's how the greatest scripture of all time Bhagavad Gita is born.
Bhagawan Krishna explains Karma Yoga, Gnana Yoga and various things to Arjuna. In all there are 18 chapters in the Bhagavad Gita. It starts with Arjuna's dilemma in chapter 1 and Sri Krishna speaks for the first time in Chapter 2. In the Chapter 10, Arjuna asks to understand Krishna's manifestations in various forms and chapter 11 he asks to see Krishna's universal form known as Vishwaroopa ( the Universal form). Arjuna is bewildered to see Sri Krishna in the universal form and pleads with him to return back to his usual form. This verse quoted by Oppenheimer is what comes as verse 32 in Chapter 11 where Krishna explains that the universe acts according to its own cycle and viewed in that context He is the great Kala and it swallows all beings in course of time.

Oppenheimer probably represented when he says I m become death is the same as Krishna says Arjuna if u don't kill , they r already killed as I m their destiny ( thru his world form). I just convert myself to Hindu recently after reading the bible and Quran, I think this was obviously man made revelation.
    But Hinduism Vedas?
It was craved onto the wall of Angkor wat, the biggest religious monument in the world dedicated to Vishnu.
This doesn't seems like man made, but a Divine revelation between mankind and god.

I think Oppenheimer is realizing that somebody is gonna build this technology anyways because it’s outside of his control so he just has to do his part. As Arjuna has to fight because Krishna says he can have them destroyed anyways.
But ofc this is controversial because of the principle of “right action”. The truth is that in this case, Krishna points out that he is doing this out of fear for the consequence. and not righteousness, so it doesn’t count as right action.

Great explanation, it was high time that, the true meaning of this statement from Bhagvat Geeta should be explained.....just one disagreement in your explanation......
The point of Bhagvat Geeta, is that we can get our from our karma, what ever it was, by doing it in a detached manner , we will not be bond to our karma and it's consequences...... I think Oppenheimer understood it well, that's why he used this coating in the particular interview.......and yes i agree that he considered himself in the shoes of Arjuna...

Slight disagreement on this. The misunderstoo Gita verse is this karma and karma phalan. You don’t do any karmas without expecting results. Otherwise the whole world will be in chaos. Do the karma and expect the results but if the results don’t come in your favour, then develop a mindset to accept it also. You have right to the karma but not the results because the variables that are involved. This includes your past karma phalans and others. Please read Swamy Dhayanda Saraswathi ji on this.

The relevant verse in the Bhagavad Geetha is CHAPTER 11, VERSE 32. The Lord says, "I am KAALA, (Time)" and NOT "death." Lord Krishna tells Arjuna, "Time eventually destroys; in time you and all these assembled royals will all be dead." Oppenheimer MISTRANSLATED THE VERSE as "Now I am become death." Swami Shivananda translates it this way: "I am the full-grown world destroying TIME (capitals mine), now engaged in destroying the worlds. Even without thee, Arjuna, none of the warriors arrayed in the hostile armies shall live."

Once my beloved master Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was asked why he was working so hard to bring about the "Age of Enlightenmant", heaven on earth, although it was destined to come anyway (as he had said many times). His reply made it clear that his working so hard was also part of the game (he was a Kshatrya himself by the way).
As for the castes he once was asked whether the dividing line between the Brahmins an other castes was birth or rather consciousness he replied (rather quietly) that is was in fact consciousness. However, when Brahmins by birth visited him he would always honour them and follow the rules.
"Brahman" was "Brahma" (=the creator) + "n" (=negation): creativity, lila, the senses, are trascended. America was for him "the most creative country of the world" (rest in peace we will soon say).
Being a Yogi he often quoted the phrase from the Bhagavadgita "Yogastha kuru karmani" ("established in unity - act").
