13th Age is my favorite. I use the Icon Relationships, the world, one unique thing, and the escalation die in my 5E games. It's a great game, but if you want to play 5E it still makes an awesome campaign setting book!
I was always so intrigued by 13th Age's escalation die. Also, never knew Anime 5e was a thing! TIL

Very nice, but just as a heads up to everyone only 5E is safe systems based on 3.5 or future editions of dnd are still as risk.
I recommend five torches deep for those who want familiarity, simplicity and increased lethality.
Easy to make new plug ins, easy to homebrew.
I play it with my children (while ignoring the elegant capacity system) and gold for XP. Reason being my oldest can read and comprehend everything just fine.
I also purchased ultra modern. Looks fantastic. I'll likely use it for when my smaller group moves on to a new campaign.

DCC and Five Torches Deep are two here that sound fun. Not sure if I'll buy them yet. I definitely prefer fantasy over modern genre in general.

@@TheClericCorner I absolutely love the mechanics and the sections for session zero. It's rather overwhelming in a good and fresh way. A little more math than 5e, but not as much as PF2e. Yet still very character and world story driven. So good!
13th Age, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Godbound, and Mutants and Masterminds are most definitely not 5e compatible. They're their own games.
