Boneless (-2): You lack the ability to firmly push against objects or creatures. You are unable to jump or to shove creatures

I think you did great, but I have some thoughts. Because I am a science nerd, (even though this is fantasy ) I would not have ooze breathe at all. They would exchange air through their surface area. It would be easiest for them to oxygenate when they're thin and extended, so the surface area to volume ratio is high, and air exchange takes less time. This does make them more vulnerable to cutting weapons. Becoming a sphere would be most like holding their breath or being in their shell. Water would have a slower air exchange since there is less air dissolved in water. They may need to assume a jellyfish shape to swim and breathe or some other creative shape. I imagine they're constantly undulating to make sure every part of them get what they need. Their surface can pick up vibration and light. To talk, they create a hole that goes part way inside them and form the general shape of our mouth, vocal cords, and the inside of one lung.

I agree! But real science and balanced game mechanics aren't always the best of friends 🤷‍♂️

Just wanted to point, I believe Corrosive should be a Reaction in this case since it's expected to be taken outside of your turn. Otherwise, the Ancestry looks good! Looking forward to more DC20 homebrew cause the potential for it is WILD already.

Your right! That was the intention. Changed the language to reflect it. Thanks!

The only thing I wish you added was a Dhalsim feature to stretch your limbs and melee attack reach by 1 or 2 spaces. But pretty good homebrew!

The main reason repeat ancestry features tend to have the same name is that it prevents you from taking them more than once. For example, someone could have Hazardous Hide and Acidic Nature because they're not the same feature. Obviously more of a big deal for some features than others. Great work though, the whole thing scream ooze-person. 😁

This is great stuff. Thanks for doing this for us. It was great to see how you noted that the DM can adjust the points allowed for Ancestry Points during character creation. I look forwards to seeing more DC20 content from you in the future...

I like your knowledge of the game and how you created that ancestry. A bit on the heavy multi point ancestry but still very on point. Something that i would see the Coach do! Thank you

The name thing does matter for these traits as that is the gatekeeper to keep you from stacking effectively duplicate traits

There is one potential problem with renaming features for flavor: you can then get the same feature from another ancestry in ways that could be overpowered. Nice video!

I'm working on my own homebrew system, where the race and the class are more guidelines that the players go for with traits. Martial Training can represent a dwarven culture of warfare or the time the PC was in the military.

This is pretty cool but I would combine Maleable with Escape Artist myself. They sound like 1 pointers each and both seem to go with the actual ooze form all should get.

I made an I made an Angelic Gnome today... Idek if that's possible in 5e.
Right now, DC20 is kind of all over the place. But I can't wait until it's all polished. I'm looking forward to being a DC20 GM, lol! There are so many things I find a little unsatisfying going back to 5e as hard as that is to admit! I wish this project *all* the success!

Agree on the names for some features. Why not change 'Short-Legged' to just 'Slow'? More universal. :) (Obviously this one is aimed at actual DC - as you pointed out, you don't really have a say in this. Though Slow and Short-Legged could stack for movement penalties I guess - but I'd just go with a generic name).

8:00 Aren't Genasi supposed to be Inner Planetouched, while Tieflings & Aasimars are Outer Planetouched?

"supposed to" according to a specific DnD edition? Yes...kinda. it's still muddled, and am not a fan of how it's done. So I'm going to tweak it to have a more interesting role amongst the cosmos. But there is no "supposed to" with fantasy, as we make it what we want!
