    I've put in two bow thrusters. Without the use of one of those massive bits. Mark out the spot. Drink a 12 pack. Start cutting.

    They should've left about an 1" or 2 sticking out on the front side so it could be smoothed out, so when the boat is going forward you dont get the water catching the backside of the thruster hole and causing extra drag.

    Oh wow. We need these on our boat. We have 4 of the Seven Marine 627s. They’re an awesome outboard but they’re hell at low idle. For me anyhow.

      300,000 in motors and you didn't get the joystick control? More money than brains.

      @chloehennessey6813 6 лет назад +2

      Travis B since you want to feel superior on RUclips I’ll let your jibe go.
      BTW, it’s over $400,000 in engines. Motors are electrical.
      And each engine is fully specd with all the controls.
      They are still a pain in the ass to handle at low idle trying to dock- hence the bow thruster enthusiasm.

    I use to go out for big game fish and at the end of day I was wiped out completely so when it came to coming into the harbor and docking it could be a chore in a half. Never had any mishaps, but came close a few times and I sure would like having these thrusters making it a lot easier on me especially when it came to friends that did not have a clue about boats.
    Oh, for the people talking crap about the thrusters, hey wouldn't it be better to have more control than less control of your boat? Duh!

    • @mcpheonixx
      @mcpheonixx 6 лет назад +1

      Are they convenient? Yes of course, they make docking a breeze. I would use them if available!
      Do I need them? Nope, especially if I'm handling a twin engine vessel. I work in a boat yard/marina and anyone who has any experience with the sea will tell you that shit breaks down so easy in salt water.
      My point is if you require thrusters to properly handle your vessel it would behoove you to learn proper handling techniques in case your shit breaks down. Sure as shit stinks it will!

  • @tom5051666

    I hope to hell that was inspected by an engineer. Cutting a huge hole in the bow will weaken the crap out of it, particularly in a collision. A piece of plastic pipe glassed in with a few sheets of chop strand isn't going to be strong enough.

    • @Fiberglasser03
      @Fiberglasser03 6 лет назад

      Unless you have a collision where the bow thruster is struck directly, you'll be ok.

    • @Fiberglasser03
      @Fiberglasser03 6 лет назад +4

      No. The bow thruster tube will add significant strength to the hull, almost like a mini bulkhead. Also, the part of the hull where you would run aground is solid glass. The thruster is above that.

Where are your fuckin rollers ???? This is as poorly done as you can imagine and if this was my boat i would have scratch that all off and start over again, if you guys are gonna do something do it well or don’t do it at all....
