Palpatine and Vader admired many of the ancient sith of old and for many different reasons. However, Palpatine admired one Sith Lord more than most, telling Vader he should follow in his footsteps. This warror sith was of course Darth Malgus, the warrior sith who had sacked the Jedi temple. Malgus was a pure weapon of the dark side, fully embracing his own suffering to increase his power. He even killed his own lover to prevent himself from becoming weaker. Just like Vader, Malgus had been injured by a Jedi knight, but instead of letting his injuries defest him, he became stronger than ever before. Palpatine gifted Vader with ancient texts about Malgus, hoping it would inspire him to become a powerful Sith Enforcers, just like Malgus.

The difference of course is Malgus was naturally steeped in the Dark Side with state of art cybernetics. While Vader had janky cybernetics and had to rely on the constant pain to keep him Angry.
Also the shitty coffee on star destroyers kept pissing him off to no end never a damn blue milk creamer in sight
Vader was the chosen one. He needed a constant to keep him a sith, but even that eventually wasnt enough. In the end, he still went back to the Jedi ways. Palpatine himself couldn't even contain Vader. He was a force to be reckoned with Jedi or Sith

@@ericpagel826 Being the chosen one wouldn’t mean rejoining the Jedi it’d be embracing both half’s of the force & using both contrasts together because the Jedi were wrong & the Sith were corrupted.

@@BeeTheBee Yes, but Palpatine's plan in manipulating Vader was to tell him that Anakin was the one at fault for killing Padame and convinced him that he is also the reason his children are dead. Technically it makes a lot of sense why Vader wanted Luke to join him to overthrow Palpatine, once he found out Luke and Leia are his children. I mean, doesn't make sense to normal people, but the Sith Lord kinda took everything away from Darth Vader/Anakin including the ability to fight back on his own. If he tried, force lightning could kill Vader almost immediately.

What I think caused her death was that first Anakin/Vader force choked her to unconsciousness then she realized he turned to the dark side which was too much to bear and then it all ended with her childbirth .

Malgus does have a suit. He even wears a respirator same as Vader, but his suit isn’t focused solely on keeping him alive and in Palpatine’s foothold.

Solid ass choice to say so myself. I personally thought it would have been Revan, but Malgus does hold serious power over just about every other Sith.
I don’t think the writors would have sidious idolize Revan because of his redemption to the light. Dude was never a true sith

It took four(at the very least) of the Galaxy’s best warriors to even stand up to him. Republic or Empire, those warriors each had members who felt the Emperor’s power, were beyond powerful in their own rights, killed thousands of enemies, and became legends. Malgus was barely defeated by them.

The name Palpatine came from the fact that when he ate Chinese food he would get heart palpitations
So Palpatine saw no issues telling Vader to be more like Malgus. The guy who led a coup against his Emperor in a bid to take over and reshape the Empire into what he viewed as stronger. Old Sheevy really didn't think that one through.

Vader was the most powerful of all the Sith. I say this because he was given weaker mechanicals to keep his power in check. If he had been given the best that technology had to offer, he would have had no equal. He would have been the embodiment of chaos.
Yes but part of what made Vader so powerful was his pain not just physical but also mental and emotional that's why when palpatine asked Vader if he wanted a more advanced suit vader said no because it wouldn't give him as much pain, Vader was in pain 24/7 especially walking that's why his breathing was the way it was. it was him struggling to breath every breath cuz of the pain now if Vader somehow found out a way to keep all the pain and get more a advanced suit and better cybernetics he would be unstoppable

Vader and malgus had similar versions of form V. And both had severe injuries and needed cybernetics. But most people don't realize that their injuries were vastly different. Vaders mobility was nowhere near malgus. People don't read the old eu. And even seem to forget about the og films. Also vaders mobility was reduced even more after his duel with star killer and resurrected maul. He recovered some of it by episode v but still less than before those fights.
