    vero.co/newsro...
Vero is pleased to announce that the Vero Great Guitar Contest is roaring back with a new edition presented in collaboration with our friends All Guitar Network and Norman's Rare Guitars with a pretty special prize package to reckon with.
The lucky winner of the GRAND PRIZE will receive a Taylor Builder's Edition 717 guitar - signed by celebrity visitors to Norman’s Rare Guitars - as well as an expenses paid trip to California to record an interview for All Guitar Network and Vero, tours of Norman’s legendary store and the Taylor factory. In addition, FOUR Runners Up will each receive a Taylor Academy Series guitar.
For the next four weeks, be sure to check in for coaching tips from our expert judges - renowned session guitarist Tim Pierce (who played with Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Miley Cyrus), “Guitar Of The Day” host Michael Lemmo of Norman's Rare Guitars and Tim Godwin, head of artist relations at Taylor Guitars.
    HOW TO ENTER:
To enter round 2 of Vero's Great Guitar Contest, here’s what you need to do:
    1. Download Vero for free from the App Store or Google Play.
    2. Do a Video post on Vero introducing yourself and then perform your most impressive guitar lick!
Your video must be 60 seconds or less. You can play electric or acoustic, improvize a solo or play an original song. Use of loop pedals and/or an additional backup musician (like a rhythm guitarist or drummer) are optional and ok - just be sure to perform your own music LIVE. (We all love Hendrix, but no cover versions are allowed!)
    3. Be sure to include the hashtag #AllGuitarVeroContest with your post.
The contest will also benefit The Midnight Mission - a human services organization in downtown Los Angeles which provides support to homeless people in Southern California with an emphasis on developing self-sufficiency.
Vero's Great Guitar Contest Round 2 launches today and runs for four weeks, from June 17th to July 17th 2019!
Winners will be announced on the official @Vero profile during the week of July 22nd so make sure you follow Vero for updates.

Gotta be careful cranking up the polepiece magnets on those DeArmonds…they’re pretty strong and can yank on the strings, killing sustain. This is why Chet Atkins didn’t like ‘em. He wanted to raise the magnets for a better signal-to-noise ratio (less hum) but couldn’t without deadening the guitar. Thus the Filter’Trons in 1958!

cool guitar , it's orange , I luv it. pretty unique sound out of those Gretsch guitars , and call me crazy but I'd say Lemmo is a tad better than Chet Atkins , in fact that first song sounded very Chetish , but Lemmo just has better chops over all. Anyway great Gretsch , seems a bit smaller than a typical one , which is nice because I find the normal ones a bit too big , and this one is orange , how cool is that? thanks guys.

I don't care how many commentors "pooh, pooh" this guitar for being "Ugly". It's the sound that makes this guitar, and let's face it, back in 1957 Television programs, without a picture were called the same thing they are today, a "radio program" so you didn't have to worry about how bad the guitar looked, I guess. Now, aside from the looks, which to me are beautiful, the tone has that unique blend of country and rock & roll twang, I guess there is a reason why brilliant players of the era chose the Gretsch to showcase their abilities. As always a great kicking off point to the week by Mr. Lemmo and the vivacious Jen!!
