This is so super cool! I also want! I'm sitting here in front of the shitty TV and I'm watching a guy pick the best day to go camping. Really cool, especially when it's stormy and snowing outside and you're sitting in a cozy tent or small cabin or mobile home. I would swap immediately. By. Alien Ware
I have watched hundreds of great outdoor camping video’s in the winter, before, during, and after a winter storm, I watched them build shelters, campfires, beds etc. but what I have never seen is anyone build a latrine (toilet). They don’t have to demonstrate using it, but at else show that you have one, or some new modern day method designed for camping. No one can go three days camping without relieving themselves, its part of life, human nature, nothing to be shamed about.
I seriously doubt “4 season tent”…that thing would be a sauna in the middle of summer. Lol if you are recommending AC clearly “4 season tent” is an advertisement gimmick
Must be vv tough to set up a tent in a dark snowy night in the middle of nowwhere. .You r a trully courageous man . I tremble just watching you. Love from North East India
Brother, you should come to us, to Siberia. That's where the real extreme is. Winter -40C, in a tent, good. Drink vodka, fry meat and feel the power of nature! And then you go naked, in one T-shirt ... Is it winter! Come visit us in Surgut, I'll show you a real winter!
You want some around the bottom base but too much further up for prolonged periods can damage your tent, loosen the stakes, or at the very least push it further inward and limit your space inside. Ice is usually more of a concern than light powdery snow though.

I thought I'd point out something that a person too far south might not know. Listen to the snow squeak and crunch as he walks on it. That's the definition of, "It's dang cold!"
I thought he would camp nearer the trees for better shelter and access to fire wood. His tent seems very exposed and vulnerable, yet at the same time, warm and cosy in spite of the weather .
@@davidsmith731 you are very experienced and know exactly the priorities that are best suited for wilderness camping.Although a farmer’s wife I am very cautious and wouldn’t know where to start.I would feel safer by the trees but then I would likely go hungry!
It's a dam/swamp area in the summer months, this spot in particular is one of the more accessible places to camp only 40 min from where I live. The ground was relatively flat which is why I chose it.
I also noticed the fence. This is not camping in the wild. A genuine outdoorsperson would not camp out in the open unless one is ice fishing on a frozen lake. It may even be so that his vehicle is only parked a few meters away hence the huge sled. For a more genuine experience, the youtuber Lost Lakes is the one to watch
Yeah man, these Russian Bear tents look legit. Not the first video I've seen of a guy in Canada completely crushing it with one of these. Good to see you and appears you've kept up with the training. Cheers, man! \m/
the ash tray was an add-on, it's not technically part of the specs. The designs seem to change frequently, I am considering doing an overview this winter when I get the tent back out. Stay tuned
Nascem e crescem neste meio, estão super acostumados a viver no frio, isso é o Canadá meu sobrinho também mora lá. Eu adoraria acampar num lugar assim.
Doesn't really do much since the tent has a floor that's zipped in + an insulated floor on top, so there is no wind that gets in. I was taking the snow off to reduce buildup on the sides of the tent. It was coming down pretty hard so I wasn't sure how high the snow was going to get and I wanted to prevent too much accumulation. Thx for watching
When I go out and rough it in the dead of winter...I go to a Holiday Inn Express. Free breakfast!
Great minds think alike! 😂
Me too.

Best 4 season tent on the market! Handles the extreme temps with easy. Get a portable A/C unit and enjoy mid summer in any state.

Man, I loved that ‘window’ in your tent and how you could stand up and stick your head out. 😀
one of my favorite 'features' of the tent haha
That looks like fun.
NICE..i am from North off Finland and i know the feelings....
That sled is three times as big as any other winter campers sled I've ever seen!.

When you cleaning off the snow from your tent You don't have any insulation left! This is like open the door in the snow storm!!!

This looks like the classic example of getting away from home and taking it all with you. Might as well stay home and camp out in your living room.
This is the only way to camp in that weather without getting frostbite.

I saw the pics of this trip on facebook and had questions that have now been answered! Nice!
Why do you place your tent in the middle of the flat area where there aren’t any shelter from the wind? Just curious …..
It makes for a better video
I prefer being out in the open and having a far line of sight. More enjoyable, the wind doesn't bother me and the tent is solid when fully guyed out
