To correct some of things: You dont get only a melee weapon with a character. You also get their mask, their gun and themselves. Im suprised he didnt mention anything about extensive mask customization. Hoxton was busted in the first game. And they learn about his location now and they can intercept him. Dentist is a mastermind. He just learned the location using his contacts. A bunch of Payday gang members join because they can. For example Sydney joined when she winged it and grabbed one bag from the Payday gang durning one of their robberies. Bain then acknowledged her skill and invited her to the gang.

I think the game has a lot of teamwork in practice. Inspire is one of the ways, of course, but as difficulties increase sticking together and dividing labor becomes more and more important. It isn't MMO levels of teamwork, sure, but even relay race bag moving *feels* like teamwork.

Just a note: If you're going dodge (Rouge, Hacker, Sicario) low concealment on loud is useful when running the Sneaky Bastard skill. Every 3/1 concealment under 33 (so, getting it down to 3/10) gives a point of dodge, up to ten additional points.
I don’t think the payday gang did start the l4d apocalypse since in left for dead 2 the whole game takes place in 2009 and payday 2 takes place from 2013-2018.

Rogue absolutely does not have a lot less dodge than hacker or sicario as long as you don't include the smoke bomb part. Hackers max dodge is only like 5 or 10 above rogue assuming you get a kill during the duration.

Is it highly addictive? Yes. So is my nicotine, but that doesn't mean my decision to start smoking has aged well. There are some good points, there's some really bad points, but overall it's an okay video.
Medics are more of a pain on death sentence, especially when a heavy does over 200 damage in 1 shot, imagine your armor broken but the heavy you shoot is instantly healed by a medic and then downs you in one bullet. That’s tuff.
Yeah I suppose it's gotta be on my end. I still cant do DSOD on loud. i can go as far as mayhem. But I made that point since majority of players claimed that medics are tough at higher than overkill. Since I was on mayhem I made this point.

From the footage I've seen on the video, you either are completely new to the game and decided to make a video about it or haven't played the game before 2017. The game is currently on life support, where OVK is adding content just to pump out DLC to make a quick buck without caring if it suits the game or not. (the game literally jumped up to being ~60-80gb in 2019) PD2 has undergone several changes that have hurt it's balance due to mismanagement especially in post 2015 era. Such as the additions of Mayhem & One Down, Captain Winters, P2W skins (for some time) and the total destruction of the weapon balance. Together these "updates" have removed the teamwork aspect of the game and a lot of players will often ignore you instead of staying as a group just like you've explained in the "Teamwork" part of your video. The cops don't attempt to utilize tactics anymore and just will blindly charge players, meanwhile a lone player can be strong enough to handle himself on his own against armies of said cops. The difficulties are also pretty fucked as "Normal" up to "Very Hard" can be ignored and "OVERKILL" can be seen as the modern "Normal" difficulty, this is thanks to the addition of Mayhem & One Down mentioned earlier. I suppose devs tried to balance this out but ended up worse as cops no longer deal the same amounts of damage across all difficulties and instead be very inconsistent. Since difficulties below OVK can be ignored, the game's balance is focused on Deathwish now (6th out of 7 available difficulties!) therefore many weapons will be hilariously overpowered for low difficulties. You may find that at some point you are not playing for the money anymore, as playing on OVK difficulties makes you rich rather quickly. (removing the point of the game, you know, the payday) Random public games are also b ecoming pretty unplayable as there are many cheaters and people just don't want to take chances anymore so they will flat out ban you from their lobbies, or ban you because Crime.Net is broken and will display your private games publicly regardless allowing anyone to join, people being illiterate and just braindead or people being sweaty tryhards using a meta loadout they found on a Steam Guide which there are thousands of. Sometimes I think people only play this game because of the modding community and not for the game itself anymore. TL;DR - PAYDAY 2 used to be a great game co-op requiring solid teammates made by (not anymore) respectable passionate developers of the game but then the greed arrived and decided to redesign the game into fan service to milk your wallet dry in any way possible and keep you playing. 2013 - 2015 were the best years of the game, it was when PAYDAY was PAYDAY. You may not agree with this opinion, cuz it seems to be pretty unpopular among the 12 year olds that currently supply OVERKILL with money and that's okay.

I think it aged poorly, but please hear me out. I've been with this game since PDTH. Payday started as a somewhat gritty and tactical game. In fact, the game was originally intended to be more about stealth. Overkill difficulty, and going "loud" in general, used to be hard and running outside of cover for a few seconds was risky even with full armour. The game was never "realistic," but it was grounded in reality to an extent. I remember the early days of PD2 when people would literally camp near objevtives to play defensively because even OVK was THAT hard. Then it became obvious people didn't like the intended grit and tact, but rather, they liked going loud and playing a horde shooter where it felt like a Hollywood crime power fantasy. The game adapted accordingly. Fair enough. Then they started adding in characters, weapons, and content in general way too often and even content that really broke the immersion of an even somewhat serious crime game. PD2 became a meme at this point. It wasn't a "serious" game anymore. H3H3 became a character, for fuck's sake. WHY? It feels like a gimmick to attract a bunch of kids to the game. Long story short, PD2 went from a somewhat tactical co-op shooter where the cops could easily overpower you, to a run-and-gun arcade shoot-em-up with the worst power creep I have ever seen in a game, which is why they CONSTANTLY had to add extra difficulties... Which all sucked because all they really did was give them more health and damage. Some of the laziest game design ever. I see so many people agreeing that it "aged great" or "is a classic," but I guarantee none of them were playing PD2 before Grinder was released. That kind of marked when the game changed drastically, both in tone and gameplay. Anyone who got into the series with PDTH or early PD2 all know what I'm talking about, even if they like it more now. Payday is just not the same game it used to be and I personally don't like the direction it took. People can think what they want, but all I saw was a promising indie game become a parody of itself because that's what made money. (I know this is long, but Payday *_used_* to be my favorite game. It meant a lot to me. If they "return to their roots" for PD3 or balance the two gameplay styles better, I'll try it. If not, I'm done with this clown of a game.)
Sounds like you really should have few friends to have gang. On our gang we don't need to even say what is role for everyone when we go in ANY heist. But our gang has at least from 1500 to 4000+ hours in Payday 2... Even while we have love-hate relationship with Payday, we always come back.
Only people who weren't around for early PD2 or PDTH would say it "aged well." It's a completely different game now and, IMHO, for the worse. The game went from being somewhat grounded in reality to a complete parody of itself.
Payday 2 is probably unironically one of my favorite games of all time. I've put countless hours into the game. When i get my PC in a month, it's gonna be the first game I play. Too bad I'll lose all my infamy and masks and guns that I've worked so hard for over the past 5 or 6 years when I switch fron Playstation, but the Playstation version sucks balls anyway
Unless you're a hardcore Payday fan you shouldn't buy PD2 since it has shit optimization and requires specific hardware to run so just wait for Payday 3 I guess

It has aged well, and I appreciate the effort and love that OVK puts into the product... But part of me questions some of their decisions. Like some of these new weapons, perk decks, and rebalances are either ridiculously OP or completely useless. It makes me wonder if they're either using PD2 as a testing ground for 3, or making the game a joke on purpose to encourage people to buy 3 to avoid all of 2's bullshit. Either way, they're kinda making the game worse because of it.

Medics are more of a pain on death sentence, especially when a heavy does over 200 damage in 1 shot, imagine your armor broken but the heavy you shoot is instantly healed by a medic and then downs you in one bullet. That’s tuff.
Yeah I suppose it's gotta be on my end. I still cant do DSOD on loud. i can go as far as mayhem. But I made that point since majority of players claimed that medics are tough at higher than overkill. Since I was on mayhem I made this point.
Also no dmg dropoff on dsod.
A little feedback. Your audio isn't amazingly balanced, your voice is far too quiet compared to the other bits. Aside from that, amazing video and I genuinely can't believe you don't even have 100 subs yet. Oh well, at least I get to join in early.

From the footage I've seen on the video, you either are completely new to the game and decided to make a video about it or haven't played the game before 2017.
The game is currently on life support, where OVK is adding content just to pump out DLC to make a quick buck without caring if it suits the game or not. (the game literally jumped up to being ~60-80gb in 2019)
PD2 has undergone several changes that have hurt it's balance due to mismanagement especially in post 2015 era. Such as the additions of Mayhem & One Down, Captain Winters, P2W skins (for some time) and the total destruction of the weapon balance.
Together these "updates" have removed the teamwork aspect of the game and a lot of players will often ignore you instead of staying as a group just like you've explained in the "Teamwork" part of your video. The cops don't attempt to utilize tactics anymore and just will blindly charge players, meanwhile a lone player can be strong enough to handle himself on his own against armies of said cops.
The difficulties are also pretty fucked as "Normal" up to "Very Hard" can be ignored and "OVERKILL" can be seen as the modern "Normal" difficulty, this is thanks to the addition of Mayhem & One Down mentioned earlier. I suppose devs tried to balance this out but ended up worse as cops no longer deal the same amounts of damage across all difficulties and instead be very inconsistent.
Since difficulties below OVK can be ignored, the game's balance is focused on Deathwish now (6th out of 7 available difficulties!) therefore many weapons will be hilariously overpowered for low difficulties.
You may find that at some point you are not playing for the money anymore, as playing on OVK difficulties makes you rich rather quickly. (removing the point of the game, you know, the payday)
Random public games are also b ecoming pretty unplayable as there are many cheaters and people just don't want to take chances anymore so they will flat out ban you from their lobbies, or ban you because Crime.Net is broken and will display your private games publicly regardless allowing anyone to join, people being illiterate and just braindead or people being sweaty tryhards using a meta loadout they found on a Steam Guide which there are thousands of.
Sometimes I think people only play this game because of the modding community and not for the game itself anymore.
TL;DR - PAYDAY 2 used to be a great game co-op requiring solid teammates made by (not anymore) respectable passionate developers of the game but then the greed arrived and decided to redesign the game into fan service to milk your wallet dry in any way possible and keep you playing.
2013 - 2015 were the best years of the game, it was when PAYDAY was PAYDAY.
You may not agree with this opinion, cuz it seems to be pretty unpopular among the 12 year olds that currently supply OVERKILL with money and that's okay.

I think it aged poorly, but please hear me out. I've been with this game since PDTH. Payday started as a somewhat gritty and tactical game. In fact, the game was originally intended to be more about stealth. Overkill difficulty, and going "loud" in general, used to be hard and running outside of cover for a few seconds was risky even with full armour. The game was never "realistic," but it was grounded in reality to an extent. I remember the early days of PD2 when people would literally camp near objevtives to play defensively because even OVK was THAT hard.
Then it became obvious people didn't like the intended grit and tact, but rather, they liked going loud and playing a horde shooter where it felt like a Hollywood crime power fantasy. The game adapted accordingly. Fair enough.
Then they started adding in characters, weapons, and content in general way too often and even content that really broke the immersion of an even somewhat serious crime game. PD2 became a meme at this point. It wasn't a "serious" game anymore. H3H3 became a character, for fuck's sake. WHY? It feels like a gimmick to attract a bunch of kids to the game.
Long story short, PD2 went from a somewhat tactical co-op shooter where the cops could easily overpower you, to a run-and-gun arcade shoot-em-up with the worst power creep I have ever seen in a game, which is why they CONSTANTLY had to add extra difficulties... Which all sucked because all they really did was give them more health and damage. Some of the laziest game design ever.
I see so many people agreeing that it "aged great" or "is a classic," but I guarantee none of them were playing PD2 before Grinder was released. That kind of marked when the game changed drastically, both in tone and gameplay.
Anyone who got into the series with PDTH or early PD2 all know what I'm talking about, even if they like it more now. Payday is just not the same game it used to be and I personally don't like the direction it took. People can think what they want, but all I saw was a promising indie game become a parody of itself because that's what made money.
(I know this is long, but Payday *_used_* to be my favorite game. It meant a lot to me. If they "return to their roots" for PD3 or balance the two gameplay styles better, I'll try it. If not, I'm done with this clown of a game.)

Sounds like you really should have few friends to have gang. On our gang we don't need to even say what is role for everyone when we go in ANY heist. But our gang has at least from 1500 to 4000+ hours in Payday 2... Even while we have love-hate relationship with Payday, we always come back.
Only people who weren't around for early PD2 or PDTH would say it "aged well." It's a completely different game now and, IMHO, for the worse.
The game went from being somewhat grounded in reality to a complete parody of itself.

Payday 2 is probably unironically one of my favorite games of all time. I've put countless hours into the game. When i get my PC in a month, it's gonna be the first game I play. Too bad I'll lose all my infamy and masks and guns that I've worked so hard for over the past 5 or 6 years when I switch fron Playstation, but the Playstation version sucks balls anyway

The game is most enjoyable with stealth, if you are looking for realism at the highest difficulty. people who say payday2 isnt replayable, or is boring, they never tried stealth. if you want to play a zombie shooter simulator then go loud. if you want an actual payday experience go stealth

I agree that the physique isn't realistic.
It has aged well, and I appreciate the effort and love that OVK puts into the product... But part of me questions some of their decisions. Like some of these new weapons, perk decks, and rebalances are either ridiculously OP or completely useless. It makes me wonder if they're either using PD2 as a testing ground for 3, or making the game a joke on purpose to encourage people to buy 3 to avoid all of 2's bullshit. Either way, they're kinda making the game worse because of it.
I think I'm gonna go with the first option, they might be testing to gather data on how the player base finds the new changes.
