ManCity spends hundreds of millions for players but Pep refuses to trust his academy players (except Foden who is a generational talent). That is why Klopp is the best in the world. Anybody can buy great players but developing players is what makes you the greatest.
The guy is a rich kid who has access to all the newest toys that’s my analogy for pep as a coach he will never coach a team that’s not the best in their respective country
Bobb, Foden, Palmer, Lewis and now Hamilton... these are the academy products that have since played for City so far.

@nlkgaming But there's nothing to stop him or FSG changing their minds. I hope FSG know how many fans want him in. I see him every home game coaching the lads during the warm up, he is so good. The bookies still have him as 3rd favourite and they wouldn't have him in the list at all if they thought he didn't have a chance. My Uncle is a bookie and he reckons if Alonso falls through which hopefully it does, Pep will be made favourite, despite what he said today.
tbh as much as everyone would love Xabi to be at the helm come next season, I would be even more delighted if Pep decided to stay on and as our manager. I feel so much more attached to him than Xabi (coz I only started following Liverpool starting 2010). He has the credentials to now start working as a manager as Klopp said but whether a club with a stature of LFC would be the right place to start his managerial career is a big debate, and I don't think FSG would be ready to give him that chance :(

@7viking I agree. I feel much more connected to Pep than Xabi and I am a longtime fan who watched Xabi play for us. I think there's much more at stake if Xabi took over. With Pep there's less pressure on him, he isn't the big name, he could grow into the role. If he didn't work out maybe Klopp could be tempted back after his break and Pep could slot back where he was. For Xabi if he fails here where does he go? No big club would touch him again. If he succeeds RM will come calling after Carlo leaves in 2026 and who would turn them down if they used to play there? And it's his home country. So Liverpool would probably have this whole scenario all over again. I genuinely have really bad vibes about Alonso, more than any of the other names mentioned.
Give Linders a year in charge while klopp takes a sabbatical, at least then if klopp wants to come back its possible and if he doesnt we have a year more experience for Pep to build on
