If anyone watched the post match interview with Palmer and Chukwuemeka - Chukwuemeka said that Cole Palmer said to him before the game that if he (Chukwuemeka) gets subbed on, that he (Palmer) would assist him with a goal.
I know it's only early days but the way Cole Palmer is performing CURRENTLY (before people berate and chastise me for this comment in like 7 years time), he is showing a lot of promise. I'm not saying he is the next Hazard or he will even be some supreme striker, just that the way he is playing now, the assists, the goals and even just his movement and positioning, absolute class and I really do hope he is here to stay.

Never doubt in this young team...now after 4-5 months, we finally can see young player like Palmer, Caicedo, Gusto, Mudryk and Jackson finally improved so much...trust the process is real
I gave them 18 months to show me the improvement...this is still the 8th month.

I'm assuming it was for a confidence boost or because he won it. Correct me if im wrong but i dont think palmer has missed a pen for chelsea and he was on the pitch so not sure why he wouldnt have taken it
Apparently Poch doesn't have a specific player to take penalties. It's between Palmer, Enzo and Sterling.
Agreed man, I know some people will say it was to boost his confidence (not only in the cup and PL but moving forwards towards the Euro's as well). I love Sterling but when I watch him play, I feel like he is (and this sounds like a positive thing) too eager to score. His stance, his posture and his attitude all just seems a bit desperate in my opinion. Given a penalty kick, I would have felt way more comfortable with Gallagher, Palmer, Mudryk or Jackson behind the ball.
