Tip number 11: when starting to setup your zigbee network, make sure you (a) start by pairing the devices nearest to your coordinator first and then continue to work your way out and (b) always pair the devices where they are going to be used. Don’t bring a new device back to your desk and pair it and then take it to its location. Pair it where it will be used. This greatly assists the association between devices in the zigbee mesh. Thanks for a great video. Cheers 😀
Perfect timing Eddie, I just finished a new setup on an "old" 2012 Mac mini I'm using now for OMV6, Docker, Portainer, Mqtt, zigbee2mqtt, Homebridge, storage AND Timemachine. Planning to re-pair all my devices tomorrow.
Ho Eddie, thanks for the great tipps. One question, do you know how to visualise legacy data from Aqara temperature sensors with Zigbee2MQTT and Homebridge?
I think a video on how to bind a remote control directly to a light via the front-end would also be helpful. I frequently get asked how to solve this via HomeKit, as if a lot of people don't know that most of the time these devices can directly interact with each other.
Thanks to I'm planning to start my smart home project super soon. We're constructing new home and we try to have everything smart. I have some questions I'm planning to use Tuya wifi 4ch switches (those support physical switches as well) for every room Also will be using Zigbee sensors. Kindly help me which hardware should I purchase as Raspberry isn't available in market, also which software should I install on it e.g home assistant, docker, homebridge. I need support for apple home kit locally. Also what kind of switch should I purchase for fans, where I can have physical fan switch as well.
Hello Mohsin .... Please reach out to info@buildasmarthome.org and we can schedule a free 30 minute session to assist you with your queries and your smart home build. Cheers BTW i am as well in construction phase and we can share ideas as well.
Hey Damir .... Thanks for connecting. If the LIVOLO devices use the e-welink app - please check this video out. Cheers ruclips.net/video/0-oiHYiOkDE/видео.html
very well done, thank you, and also congratulations on your website business idea. As a suggestion, I'd like to see a "zigbee2mqtt scenes management video", because I am struggling with them.
Trying to get some detailed how-to guide how to manually OTA update with a self uploaded OTA file a zigbee devices via Z2M. Tried it maybe to share some how-to?
Hey Eddie! Is there any reason why end devices would appear unconnected in the map but still being active in the system? Thanks and great video as always!
Hey Pete .... I have had that issue ... where the device shows as Offline but can be controlled. And after refreshing the Z2M page - it goes back to OnLine. The reason being the device goes to sleep on the network (i Think) However i havent found a good reason for that behaviour.
@@eddiedsuza the devices are displaying as online and working but no connection in the map. When others of the same type and manufacturer nearby are showing connected. Weird. It’s still working.. I’m just being fussy ..! :)
Could you do a video on how to use the bind option, for devices to communicate directly with each other... The manual makes zero cense to me, as I am all new to Z2M and the user interface i missing a lot to be user-friendly...
Thank you for the video. I have one issue with zigbee2mqtt and still no solution yet. My wall switch (3 geng) not syncing with HA when I press on the button manually which means the current state in HA not update at all. However my other wall switch (2 geng) update instantly when pressed manually.
hello eddie! first of all thanks for the channel, your videos are a great learning experience for me! Second, I'm looking for a zigbee device for my garage ports with homebridge/homekit integration, do you know any specific ones that work well for this purpose? thanks!
Hey Lucas. Thanks for the compliment. Since the garade door openers are located outside your home and at times distant from your zigbee network - i'd recommend to use a wifi garage opener that will easily connect to your wifi network. However - at the same time i havent found a zigbee garage door controller.

Ho Eddie, thanks for the great tipps. One question, do you know how to visualise legacy data from Aqara temperature sensors with Zigbee2MQTT and Homebridge?
You can use the Eve app to view legacy data
I already use the Eve app, but with Zigbee2MQTT legacy data did not work with Aqara sensors
@@bibospiel3875 can you email me a screenshot to info@buildasmarthome.org and will try to assist. Cheers

how did you get the text in Availability "Online" to be green....
mine is a grey color

Beware viewers, everytime he puts his hands back onto the table, there's a low freq bang in the sound, nobody is trying to break into your house.
