In this video I break down the technique for one handed backhand passing shots. I explain 2 key elements of all strokes, which is setting up in the right position and timing. I also explain the adjustments to make when rolling the ball cross court verses hitting down the line.

Richard I’m impressed that you as a natural right hander can hit a left handed OHBH so smoothly. I’m a natural left hander and learned OHBH in the late 60’s in high school (as did everyone then) but now at age 70 and after about 40 years out of tennis I can’t hit it as smoothly as I used to. But I’m working on it!

Hi Richard, great video as usual. Could you elaborate on how to load the back leg or hip and especially what you mean drive through the back hip, please?

Every sport I've done I've always at least dabbled with both hands. Everyone can improve with their left if they put the time in.

I really enjoy your videos and have seen improvement implementing your instruction. Can you do a video on how to deal with being at the net and someone hits it straight at your body really hard? I am a pretty good net player but have a group man who just hits the ball so hard there is no reaction time and I feel scared. He’s handcuffing me. I’m worried my glasses will get smashed.

Glad you enjoy the videos. I just made a video about becoming faster at the net. It's due to release in a couple of days.
