hey Jesse! I'm happy to hear you like pigeons too! And to be honest with you, I also wonder why so many people have parrots, but it's very rare for someone to have a pet pigeon! :D hhah! I love your comparison that pigeons are dogs , but can fly :D oh yes, seems like you know about Skinner's "Project Pigeon" with missile guidance :D.... there were also Coast Guard - they experimented with search-and-rescue mission, where they placed trained pigeons in the helicopter to find orange life vest at sea to save people. Because pigeons have crazy awesome vision and they are better at concentration- they were way better at spotting vests than humans...and the ratio was something crazy like.. 3 to 1... i am not joking. it's true.
I so agree that they're like dogs but with the added bonus that they can 🕊️ fly🕊️ in the heavens!!! 😊 (I have a vocal feral pigeon visitor that happens to sound a bit dog like 🤭)
Well I will buy a pigeon so it will guide me where to shoot my missile 😂 😂 😂 😂, i love pigeons since I was a kid, to day I am a medical student and still loving them more and more 😍
We had backyard chickens growing up and I hatched some of their eggs so I had a little black hen as a pet. She'd let me pick her up and sit on my lap for scriches whenever I was feeling down and she was the sweetest thing. I called her my "emotional support chicken" lol. Her name was Raven. ❤️
What an adorable pigeon! The petting reminds me a lot of how cats love having their face in certain spots scratched and they just purr non-stop. I’d love having a pigeon. So sweet. ❤
lol My pigeon is jealous of my laptop and mouse When it is TIME to pet the pigeon, she comes over and grooms my hand, or just outright flops down on it. She DEMANDS scritches! And it's not the worst few moments of my life. She is so soft and gets so dreamy about it. A baby pigeon came to my door peeping for food and attention. She got it. She's very content to lay with the dogs on a fur rug. She's an adult, and very adept at flying, but she likes to come HOME and snuggle in after a few hours of flight. We go hiking, berry picking, flea markets. She comes along, flies around, then lands on my head, or at the dog's feet. Happy to ride on the console of the car to other places, and home. I don't think I've EVER had an easier pet. She's quiet, cuddly, and has her own schedule. She comes home from her flights with a full crop, and barely eats at home unless she's checking out the weird stuff her humans eat.
I believed for a long time I have the cuddliest pigeon in the world, but no, your angel is just a pot of honey. Love the whole neck-head smush at the end.
Awww! Your Toby really reminds me of Perica! He was a baby pigeon we rescued, his mom never came for him and he was out of his nest :( He really loved to be cuddled, wich makes me even more sad he got eaten by a cat. Rest in peace baby.
I loved loved loved your videos! Especially the one on pros and cons of having a pet pigeon. 💖 It would be lovely if you could make a video on how to bond or make your pigeon pet as comfortable with you as your toby is with youuu. She is adorable! And how old was she when you had her?
Oh that's amazing to hear that you are considering getting a pet pigeon! I'm so happy to hear that you are not just diving into it, but doing your thorough research first, since you are thinking to get a pet in 2022 :) I am planning to post more videos on what to feed pigeons, what breed to consider... and overall the story how I got Toby ... hopefully that will be of any use for you :) P.S. thank you very much for your subscription! That means a lot for me!
@@mylittlepigeon278 I'm interested how you found Toby. I assume I would have to get one from a breeder that isn't well advertised. There is none at the pet shop and my local bird rescue shelter doesn't have any (yet). But yes, I'm not diving in to it too fast as I'm researching about them passively, until I actually come across one that I'd like to take home with me.

@@mylittlepigeon278 I have a few videos uploaded on my channel of him. He's a Classic Old Frill pigeon and his name is Zeli. He's a bit shy and introverted and he only coo's when I put him to bed. He's a very good boy, but I'm trying to help him break away from his comfort zone to spend more time with me. For some reason he's relaxed with me, when we're in the bathroom. I think it's considered his Zen place or something. But yes, I hope our bond grows stronger so I can take him outside sometime. I have a harness for him and everything.
I found -Chick-in a traffic lane on an extremely busy Street.. I made sure it was safe and quickly got out of the car and scooped him up,. He was horribly traumatized breathing rapidly and shaking so very scared couldn't move and did not know how to fly... he was very afraid of me at first.. I went back and tried to find the parents but could not and did not want to just leave him in the parking lot to be run over by a car.. I brought Chick home and I started feeding him very soft dog food that had been soaked in water.. I had to be careful that he did not aspirate.. because he could not understand how to eat on his own I had to put small amounts in his mouth.. eventually he could eat on his own and he looked like he was gaining weight..eventually he could eat about 7 oversoaked nuggets each time but after a while he just really did not look well at all.. I called to a pigeon rehab person to ask what adult pigeons normally eat and she said bird seed.. I noticed at Walmart they had bird seed but I didn't want to give him anything that had a lot of artificial colors in it and after reading several labels I did find something.. the pigeon rehab person forgot to mention Grit. When I asked her about it she said that I could just go outside and get a little bit of dirt and put it on top of his bird seeds.. I have done that and so far he seems okay. I've learned that pigeons can also eat vegetables so I give him some of the thawed out frozen vegetables that I eat. There are other things that I give him as little treats. He is not injured or disabled but I have decided to not release him because I'm so scared he will get caught by a cat that doesn't know any better or that he will not be able to find enough food and I'm worried about him being cold and living here in the valley in Arizona where it gets to be in the triple digits in the summertime I'm worried about him getting a heat stroke outside and yes I would miss him so I've decided to keep him.. I have considered to call the rehab person and find out if she has another pigeon that cannot be adopted out that he could be friends with but I'm weighing this decision carefully because pigeons can live a very long time and I need to make sure this is something that I can handle. I do love Chick very much. I really appreciate your subscription channel to help other people learn about pigeons. Your work here and your pigeons help in making the videos too with this is very important and you are helping to make the world a better place.thx.
Hey hey Adventure Fighter! My 4-month old male used to be cuddly and sweet (I got him when he was 4 weeks old), but now he is pretty unapproachable and attacks me.
My pigeon is exactly this way in demanding I pet him! I needed both hands to type this, and he is complaining right now!
