Yours is a two-year old + version. So, what I can add - having a 2024 LE purchased in late August, 2024; now just past 500 miles. A very smooth transmission (totally gasoline traditional - not a hybrid). Almost silent. Pretty nimble acceleration, no real "strain" in achieving "60"(... and, why do testers always assume drivers will be "lead-foots"? 🤔🤷♂) . Or, passing others. I THINK some of that first year or two models sluggishness might have had to do with it being (1) brand-new model (2) in a brand-new factory (?) - Huntsville, Alabama. It's quite pleasant to drive. (... but - a caveat. I previously only owned well-loved, bumpy Toyota trucks for 35 years). Fine, quick handling. Excellent visibility. Nice, high lower wheel clearance for a small SUV. Delivery (meaning, fit-finish; everything. And, I check EVERYTHING; before accepting delivery) was typically Toyota excellent - though, yeah - cheaper materials, with everything. And, not nearly enough storage compartments. Tiny glove boxes. 🤷♀ If I have a real later concern down the road: all the damn electronics. Way too much. Engineers in love with themselves again. Will all that computerization hold up 5-6-7-8 years? I think it always has to be re-said: maintenance is everything. Fluid changes, filters, etc. The big question - for me - will be if it achieves the legendary Corolla durability. Check back with me in 10-12 years. Meantime, I paid a solid amount extra for the extended Toyota Platinum warranty, for a good reason. Just in case. Repairs aren't getting any cheaper. 😉😆
I wish they would bring by back the Matrix and I have had the Pontiac Vibe AWD. Love it. The Vibe is better insulated. Great for gardening, pets, traveling, and moving belongings back and forth. I do (TNR) Trap Neuter Return for two groups. It's wonderful for that. AND lots of leg room front and back. My elderly parents lived mine and bought one for themselves. They loved it.
for me, the noise coming in from outside while driving is something very important due to the fact that i am always on the road. i dislike hearing the wind with the windows closed; one con i cannot accept. I was contemplating between the cross, the kona, and the hr-v. i guess, now i have two to chose from. the one from the kona is that its 1.4 inches lower than the cross.
The Rav4 has the same road noise problem. Toyota went super cheap on the interior insulation. Someone should open up the body panels and see how much interior insulation the CC actually has.
The tires and roof racks contribute greatly to the road noise. For long trips, I remove the roof racks. (tape the holes). I owned a 2020 Rav4 LE without roof racks and Michelin tires and it was very noticeably quieter than my 2021 Rav4 XLE with Toyo tires and a roof rack.
Combined legroom is not a good nor accurate way of measuring legroom as diff makers measure differently and due to how adjustable the front seats are it will impact back leg room. Min and max legroom should be measured independently for front and rear rows.
Even if it’s not perfect, I can’t line every vehicle in the class up next to each other and move the seats all different ways and take measurements from every angle. Regardless, every brand will credit themselves as much as possible for measurements and it’s the one standard everyone can go off. The point still stands that it doesn’t have very good legroom considering it’s overall size.
You got a good point there. I was sitting in the back seat of a Kona and by looking at this video, it didn't seem to have more legroom than in this Corolla Cross.
Lol this is a common road. It’s not interstate cement, but it’s not a gravel road. I do my noise testing on the same surfaces with every vehicle at the same location and the same speed. Smooth surface or rough surface, it’s louder than most others.
Rented one of these. It is definitely noisy yet easy drive around town as a single person or couple. I love it as an everyday car but wouldn't pay over 23k for this brand new. Just upgrade to Rav 4 for higher pricing. Looks nice too snd lights shine great at night
To be fair, the street on which you start driving at 0:19 looks extremely rough! It REALLY needs to be resurfaced. I think probably most cars riding on such a surface would have road noise on some level, and the type/brand of tire also influences noise. I wonder why you didn't pick a more normal, smoother street for this drive. 🤔
I use this road and a smooth interstate road for ALL cars and the same locations for all decibel tests. This let’s quiet cars show how quiet they really are and loud cars show how loud they really are. Even on the interstate the Corolla Cross is louder than many.
im getting a cross coming from driving a vw beetle for 3 years so any back legroom is an improvement lol, especially since I'm 5'8 and like to push my seat back all the way
also im 22 and dont plan on having any kids in the foreseeable future and in the time I had my beetle ive probably had an adult in the backseat less than 5 times
Yes, road noise is worse than my 2003 S10 Chevrolet truck, only if the road is absolutely smooth is it a quiet drive. As far as I can tell, there is no cigarette lighter.
I love mine just upset bout leg room in the backseat and no cip holders in the back seat grandkids don't like that!! I don't pay much attention to road noise talking and music drown that out I have the LE model!!!
I have LE trim for 3 weeks now,and I love it. I’m 5 feet tall the noise is okay only when you take the highway it takes little time for the speed. I didn’t have nobody in the back seat yet.
Thanks for the video. I have contacted at least 10 dealerships here in Michigan, USA. Every one of the sales persons have lied. In the section on the contract where they list optional accessories for example each dealership stated they are unable to remove those accessories. (I'm not talking about the manufacturer accessories ). I asked salesperson to explain the word optional. I told dealership after dealership I don't need the 250 dollar floor mats for example. The response is manufacturer already put them in. Liar for 🤑🤑
@@jamesmedina2062 Thanks. Before my car stopped running around last month I purchased Weather tech car floor mats on sale at costco . They are practically brand new. I tell that to dealerships and the response is I still have to pay for more for more floor mats because they come with the car.😉
I think the issue is that unless you custom order a vehicle, the optional equipment is added at the factory in any number of configurations and is listed on the window sticker by the manufacturer, so in a sense, it's "pre-sold" with the car and can't be undone at the dealership level. My car came with mats, a roof rack, mud flaps and a door edge guard. The MSRP includes these add-ons. If the car is resold in the future, the buyer can look up the original sticker and see that mats came with the car and expect them to be included.
I own this car too and the vin number is start with 7. It is made in New Zealand. The interior quality is very bad, the worst I have for Toyota car I owned before
I'm looking for a small SUV with a decent HP engine. It also seems that every maker thinks that black or grey interior is all the public wants. Any suggestions? I've been driving Nissans for the last 20 years & have never had an issue with any of them but their SUVS have nearly no rear visibility. Anyone have suggestions?
I purchased the cross 4/2022 have 5000 on it so far yes it's smaller than the rav-4 also cost is a big thing between the cross and rav 4 I also looked at honda hr v base model $$ no thanks NO! safety features and the cr v $$$$ way to costly so there is my opinion the real negative on the cross I have is it lacks power when the A/C is on no power if it came with a 2.4 motor is would be great !!
it has mutch better driver and front passanger space and comfort for taller people -- you cant be passenger in front of rav4 if you are 190cm+ you literaly hit the sealing
First of it was my mistake to watched your video, secondly when you are going to give feedback back you should be honest and start with positive and negative at the end, but it looks that you are working for the Toyota competitors.
@@ttlee at that height you cannot fit yourself comfortably in back seat. I tested the car in person and was disappointed with the legroom on the 2nd row. In addition, you want to carry at most 4 people in this car.

For the road noise, you can blame Mazda. The Corolla Cross is a Mazda CX-3 with a Toyota powertrain and "toyotafied" interior. The Corolla Cross is part of a joint venture between Mazda and Toyota.
I haven’t noticed too much noise the way he did, yes it does appear to be noisy when you just started the engine and does not give it a min or two to warm up a bit and start driving immediately. My personal dislike abt this car is the speed it comes with it’s apparently slower than its competitors. Overall is the real value for money vehicle.
Just saw a sweet 2015 Lexus GS 350 for $22,350 on TrueCars in Phoenix with 85k miles that's extremely tempting, the only damage is the wheels have curb scrapes.
I agreed with everything you said, toyota rarely makes good legroom in their vehicles. The prices are wish washing on some sites some are exponentially high sick of vehicle price gauging, when you blink the prices go up thousands.
Yeah it’s a shame they don’t compete with legroom. I hear ya about pricing too. Sick of the status of supply and demand. Hopefully things straighten out soon…
This is a completely new 2022 model and they’re using the old 2.0 Toyota safety sense…not the current or newer 2.5 or 3.0 that’s available. Wireless CarPlay/android, although super minor should also be in an all- new 2022 vehicle. Toyota Intentionally handcuffed this Corolla Cross to push buyers into the RAV4 or Hybrid. That’s my complaint
I’m not sure on the complaints he has. Most of them are valid but the upgrades he’s speaking of are on the 2023 model, it comes standard on both gas and hybrid options for the 2023, but the 2022 came out last year, and I’ve had mine for about 10 months. No issues but would like to move up to the hybrid
I test all vehicles on the same section of road at the same speeds and under the same conditions, multiple times. The road surface is a typical road surface, but even on smooth interstate concrete, this vehicle is louder than many. That’s why I pointed it out. So for fairness…it’s tested the exact same way every other vehicle is, and it’s louder..objectively
Honda missed the boat staying away from hybrid drives, IMO Now it’ll take them time to ramp up, and some customers will get lost to Korean or other car makers
Road noise? Where are you driving?, it looks like downtowh Kherson, after a russian atilleri strike... Now in the EU we have budgets for new tarmac once in a while, and maybe the car is better suited for that market.
I use a a lapel microphone at all times. I apologize there was a lot of background cicada noise while outside the vehicle, and while driving the road noise is so intense that it just blows that up. That’s part of my complaint, the road noise
I havee a C-hr and for now its good size for me. I dont really have use for a bigger small SUV, them the car i have now. But my mom have talked that she might would test drive this car. But one problems. That it difficult to find a car where we can have a dog cage in it.
why do you need a dog cage? The big kennels are more for the home. I think what matters most is getting white or silver at least to keep the vehicle cooler. You can use a separator if you really want to keep the pooch in rear area. Remember rear vents are on this I think.
I own the AWD and you have made at the very least 5 mistakes in this report. Mine does have the upgrades in the radio but does not have remote start so it is not the top line radio. It is not noisy on roads esp if the roads are not torn up like yours is (bad play IMHO). The engine has direct injection for fuel economy AND port injection to help keep the valves clean of debri build up which is a major plus in this engine. It also has the lane sensors and collision avoidance, again not the top line and finally I am 6 feet tall and have no issue with a rear passenger seating behind me. You show a reclined car seat jumbo size (again a bad play IMHO) taking up lots of room. I suggest you buy a Nissan or better yet a BMW to suite your off beat lifestyle.
What year is it? And is it hybrid? Because the things I stated are not false. - noisy, compared to the competition tested in the exact same road surfaces (including a smooth concrete surface)..it’s objectively louder with decibel measurements. - yes, direct and port. - not a “jumbo” size. It’s just not a “small” size. It’s the “safe” size. Regardless..it has less legroom than some competitors including some that have smaller exterior dimensions. - off beat lifestyle lol..dude I drive a 2004 Toyota..
BS! 2022 LE. I drove whats out there. The only bad thing about the vehicle is they should have put the 2.5 liter engine in it. Yes your the gay type. There I said it.@@PrimeAutotainment
Those Continentals have stiff belts and adds to the road noise esp on rough roads so it is the tires that are noisy on some roads. You are NOT a car expert by any means, this is why I had to correct you.

I had two Matrixs at one point, greta all around car
I for one just enjoyed the sprinkler system sound. Does that come with the car?
It’s an upgrade
for me, the noise coming in from outside while driving is something very important due to the fact that i am always on the road. i dislike hearing the wind with the windows closed; one con i cannot accept. I was contemplating between the cross, the kona, and the hr-v. i guess, now i have two to chose from. the one from the kona is that its 1.4 inches lower than the cross.
Toyota wants you to upgrade to the rav4 if interior space nd cargo room is a convern. This is basically a corolla hence "corolla" cross
Most smaller cars are like that with car seats. That's why I always put the car seat in the middle. Then on the side once it's rearward facing.
A true review! like u..
I ended up buying a mazda. Totally different driving experience. Love the Mazda CX-50
Good point
Great review. Would love to see a video on the new 2024 Seltos.
Well, there are numerous videos already posted here in YT on the 2024 Seltos. All you need to do is search!
Honest review. Thanks.
I got this car too I would rate 8/10, it safety system is great what I don’t like the legs room is quite small
Interesting the higher versions have insulation on the roof of the engine bay. Maybe it can be added to the L version?
This is budget car , can't have all at this price point. It's common sense.
interesting....
He show 24.4mpg at 2:18
Is it good mpg?
Could anyone else hear that rattlesnake? If you could hear it give me a HELL YEAH! 💀
you drove on a unpaved road man ! i got my LE premium and ok to me !
Lol this is a common road. It’s not interstate cement, but it’s not a gravel road. I do my noise testing on the same surfaces with every vehicle at the same location and the same speed. Smooth surface or rough surface, it’s louder than most others.
@@PrimeAutotainment Don't bother. they can't take the truth
For me the stops back lights, they are in the corner no on the back door
My friend own this Cross too and his cabin is quiet, I'm not sure why yours are noisy.
because it's on the road, driving
What do you think of the performance? I’ve had it for 6months and not a fan when it comes to speed. Definitely not made it accelerate
Better ride than my 4th gen RAV4, but yes, it has no sound insulation.
Can’t wrap my arms around a CVT transmission. A true shame they didn’t offer a standard transmission as an option
It has a first gear. This particular CVT has already been proven world wide.
im getting a cross coming from driving a vw beetle for 3 years so any back legroom is an improvement lol, especially since I'm 5'8 and like to push my seat back all the way
also im 22 and dont plan on having any kids in the foreseeable future and in the time I had my beetle ive probably had an adult in the backseat less than 5 times
Love this
Yes, road noise is worse than my 2003 S10 Chevrolet truck, only if the road is absolutely smooth is it a quiet drive. As far as I can tell, there is no cigarette lighter.
what is it with people and road noise
you are tall, what made ypu purchase the cross vs the rav4? dont that have pretty much the same price?
I love mine just upset bout leg room in the backseat and no cip holders in the back seat grandkids don't like that!! I don't pay much attention to road noise talking and music drown that out
I have the LE model!!!
Glad to hear you love it 👍😎
I have LE trim for 3 weeks now,and I love it. I’m 5 feet tall the noise is okay only when you take the highway it takes little time for the speed. I didn’t have nobody in the back seat yet.
Toyo Extensa tires are quiet maybe these are not
How can you prevent road noise?
A super car. We love it
Thanks for the video. Liar for 🤑🤑
Basic floor mats cost 100 and fall apart. Better to have durable ones.
If the car is resold in the future, the buyer can look up the original sticker and see that mats came with the car and expect them to be included.
cheap floor mats suck! If they are reinforced floormats, they are worth the 200 bucks
@@jamesmedina2062 mine were Weather tech.
The most important thing is coming from Toyota.
Maybe mazda cx 3?
@@73cupcake Haven't seen them but will check it out. Thanks.
Can you fit 3 people on the back?
I purchased the cross 4/2022 have 5000 on it so far yes it's smaller than the rav-4 also cost is a big thing between the cross and rav 4 I also looked at honda hr v base model $$ no thanks NO! safety features and the cr v $$$$ way to costly so there is my opinion the real negative on the cross I have is it lacks power when the A/C is on no power if it came with a 2.4 motor is would be great !!
Excellent
it has mutch better driver and front passanger space and comfort for taller people -- you cant be passenger in front of rav4 if you are 190cm+ you literaly hit the sealing
First of it was my mistake to watched your video, secondly when you are going to give feedback back you should be honest and start with positive and negative at the end, but it looks that you are working for the Toyota competitors.
How tall are you? Do you think someone who is 6'4" is able to be comfortable driving or sitting in the front passenger seat? Nice Review BTW.
He said 5’9” in the video
@@ttlee at that height you cannot fit yourself comfortably in back seat. I tested the car in person and was disappointed with the legroom on the 2nd row. In addition, you want to carry at most 4 people in this car.
Debating on this and the Hrv. But this one gives about 300 fuel range on a full tank. Hrv about 500. Test drove both. Cross is a bit cheaper too
Could you tell me what type of rear suspension in this suv hope multilink independent suspension with lower and upper arm (or cheep and not much comfortable Rigid axel) Also what about front is ti double wishbone or macpherson strut suspension anybody can say
MacPherson suspension
@@LeonGreen77 cheep and fantastic reliable good value for money but it is better to buy suv equipped with double wishbone suspension for front ant multilink suspension for rear
For the road noise, you can blame Mazda. The Corolla Cross is a Mazda CX-3 with a Toyota powertrain and "toyotafied" interior. The Corolla Cross is part of a joint venture between Mazda and Toyota.
Acually parts are shared between CX-50 and Cross in Huntsville factory, Alabama
Would be great to have a look at cargo space in back
It’s not part of my pros or cons but I detail the whole cargo area in my full review
I am old school,. Am i driving or am i, sturdy and longevity
What do you think about Corolla Cross Vs Corolla LE?
Sit in both. Comfort is King! Off road will be better in Cross. Economy and handling worse.
Just saw a sweet 2015 Lexus GS 350 for $22,350 on TrueCars in Phoenix with 85k miles that's extremely tempting, the only damage is the wheels have curb scrapes.
Gad guzzler though.
Barely broken inn
dont get it 🤣✌🏻
I agreed with everything you said, toyota rarely makes good legroom in their vehicles.
Why does my 23 cross , struggle up hills????
Waiting for 2023 hybrid offering. Better options fuel ⛽ economy test it out asap please thanks
I've been waiting on the hybrid model since it was first announced.
Wait time will be 12-18 months we were told
Similar to the Nissan Rogue 2013 I have but mine has push button for awd ..
Where do you get one?
That’s the million dollar question lol. Inventory is horrible. Our local Toyota has zero new vehicles on the lot last I saw.
@@PrimeAutotainment Rats. Foiled again. Lol
They are around .. just need to search for them
Nice reviews, however
Your choice of Supra Hugh Baby Carseat cause limited back seat leg room is in your own making ....
Why are you comparing this older year to a hybrid model that hasn't came out yet?
The hybrid is coming out a full year after the model in this video, of course its going to have better features.
@@PrimeAutotainment Not sure about the upgrade on the safety system but the 2023 will have wireless Apple and Android car play.
I DONT THINK THE ROAD NOISE ASSESMENT IS FAIR. THE ROAD YOU WERE ON CLEARLY LACKS ANY KIND OF A SURFACE PAVEMENT.
Between this and the Honda hrv, which one do you think is best?
Corolla Cross Hybrid
Honda missed the boat staying away from hybrid drives, IMO
Now it’ll take them time to ramp up, and some customers will get lost to Korean or other car makers
Road noise between Mitsubishi Eclipse cross vs Toyota Corolla cross
Road noise? Where are you driving?, it looks like downtowh Kherson, after a russian atilleri strike... Now in the EU we have budgets for new tarmac once in a while, and maybe the car is better suited for that market.
Couldn't hear you while driving. May want to consider using a mic
My 2023 cross struggles to go up hillls
I would love this vehicle, It's just me, myself and I.
Same here. I just put a deposit on one. I have a Civic and the back space looks the same (small). Hopefully the road noise isn't as bad as I've heard.
This is not true, my 2023 does not make much noise. You must have wrong tyres. Regards from Norway. 😊😊😊😊😊😊 3:21
Nice SUV
A complete missed opportunity imo. But hey Toyota customers care nothing but the badge thinking it'll last forever and better resale than anything ever existed 😅😅😅
Toyota vehicles indeed last more.
@@hedgehogthesonic3181 used car yes Toyota might give you less headaches compare to pretty much any other brand. But for a brand new car there's warranty.
Late comment here, but I agree 100 percent. For my hard earned money , I want to have to have a vehicle that I like to look at and be in every time I drive it. I'll take that and a great warranty any day .
The noise are the tires
I have one it's all good 👍
Basically this car is garbage. Hopefully it still got that Toyota reliability
Sitting in the back seat is like sitting in a prison van. Poor visibility, tiny small back window. Hate the sloping roof. It’s designed around short people. Was hoping for much more.
I found this on the bfb animations playlist. 💀
Not me looking at buying this car and the first thing you say is ROAD noise 😂 & me thinking it’s gotta be quieter then my 09 lmao 🤣
