Misa’s lifespan was extended so she would have probably lived for 1000’s of years because she gained the life of two shinagamis.

Well yagami was known in he’s class to be the best English speaker apart from speaking Japanese and he’s class was full of smart people but I see what u mean
English is taught around the world and most countries have it as an essential subject from first grade so it's not surprising, not fan of the Lang itself but hey, I can understand people from china, Japan, Argentina, Russia with a single language and there's a LOT of content out there in English.
As of a language itself, I like German, I think it's more expressive and richer than English (my opinion) but here comes a problem with the universality of English; whenever you try to communicate in a language you're learning (other than English) people who speak that language will automatically try to communicate in English and your language skills won't improve beyond English, for example, almost all German speakers know English and when they notice that German isn't your first language they switch to English, which is a painful experience for me as a language learner.
That's be an interesting one shot story to read. "I've got a death note but since the shinagami haven't been to earth in thousands of years it's written in some ancient, dead language we don't have any records of."

L was never 100% convinced Light was Kira, he always gave him the benefit of the doubt
Near and Mello never gave Light that benefit and outright knew it could only be him and no one else as Kira, maybe someone different for the other Kiras but not the main one. L died still believing Light was somewhat innocent
BluFF not really, those percentages might have been to trick the other people he was telling them to but he was never convinced until episode 24, even in episode 22 where he tells light to listen to his analysis about the possibilities he’s been entertaining he’s still poses two possibilities after, light tells L that if he’s was put in a situation where he had the death note he would’ve had it returned to him then L says that that possibility makes the most sense, however after he says “ or maybe Im just dancing eternally in the palm of a diety”, the quote wasn’t exactly that but it was something along those lines so he wasn’t really sure

My ex girlfriend introduced me to this anime when I got to the bit when L died she told me it’s not worth watching it after that.
Rem's relationship with Misa is not comparable to Ryuk's relationship with Light. From the beginning it is made clear that Ryuk is just there to spectate and relieve himself of his boredom. As soon as Light becomes boring to Ryuk, he kills him off so he can go home. On the other hand, Rem literally DIES for Misa. They just aren't the same at all.
Here’s a question, if Ryuk kills off Light in his notebook, wouldn’t he have died if he kills his own partner?
@@Alan_Marin it wouldn't even affect Ryuk because he's a Shinigami and Light's lifespan would've been added to his.. when Misa was told how a Shinigami could be killed, it was when the Shinigami killed off another human to save the one it loved, because they can't increase a human's lifespan but only take it. In turn the Shinigami's lifespan is added to the human it protected

I think it's because Light was called out by L and that was settled in the task force's eyes when he became L's successor, but then five years later another detective says it's him again? And in those five years, the killings only got worse and worse? I believe it was Natural suspicion by Aizawa, which lead to him giving Near a shot.

I think its amazing that with every person that light killed he revealed his identity right before they died and in the end he went to do it one last time and that's what ended up getting him caught

Death Note is the darkest anime I’ve ever watched in my life, the meanings that are hidden in the anime is deep and just makes you feel something strange inside you. Light is the best well written antagonist (and protagonist) I’ve ever seen. Personally I’ve grown something special for him and the ending (plus the ending credits) left me “heartbroken”.

The whole series takes place over like 7 years, with 5 of those being a time jump, so not much you can fit realistically. It doesn't have a history behind it like One Piece or Naruto or something set in another universe.

Matsuda best character. He wanted to believe light was innocent more then anyone else. When he finally found out at the end it was heartbreaking to see.
Yeah I liked him the best of all police. Him shooting Light is a definite "high point" in the series.

I knew L was gonna die, but honestly after he did I was so upset that it took me some time to get back into the show. L was my favourite character and I nearly cried after he died. After watching the rest of the show I realize it was necessary, but honestly the show went down hill after his death.

Light actually had an inner moral debate if he's gonna use the powers of the book and sacrifice his after life or not. He's not crazy nor a psychopath, he starts as a sane person, do NOT discard this detail otherwise you're erasing all the character development he goes through. Through the story we are seeing how power is corrupting the values and the reasoning of the main character, don't just ignore that...
Uh he thinks about it for like ten minutes lol. If you can go from average high school student to mass murderer in less than a week, you were probably already a horrible psychopathic monster on some level.......

True. This is further evidenced by the fact that when he later loses memory of his identity as Kira he reverts back to his former "sane" self, sincerely believing that Kira is evil and wanting to stop him. Until he touches the Death Note again... 😂

A lot of people rag on Light calling him crazy and evil but he simply just does what every judge, jury, or executioner does, he puts bad people to death.

man I just finished watching the entire series after Christmas eve and what a rollercoaster. I was rooting for Light to rule the world until the last eps where I really despised him for having no regard for literally anyone but himself.

I loved this anime up until we met near. I loved the intelligence and the battle of wits between Kira and L. Once Near came into the picture, I didn't like the anime as much. He jumped to conclusions much more than the original L, and he just happened to be right. They didn't describe many of the thought processes involved in reaching conclusions.
Very true. Near kinda ruined the show, and so did L’s death. I would’ve preferred if Light didn’t try depending in anyone like him at the beginning and just go against L one on one with L emerging victorious.

This was the first anime that I ever got into, I like to revisit it every couple of years and it is still such a good anime with a compelling story. I always tell people who are thinking about getting into anime to try this out

I always believed that Light as a Character was developed in a way that makes the ending make no sense to me. Light predicted everything and utterly overcame L. Light knew about the death gods and knew that there were multiple death gods existing in the world. He also knew that his second death note was not given to him as it was by Ryuk, if it was granted to him then the other death god would also follow Light. Yet Light never predicted another death note could be used against him which was ultimately the reason he lost in the end. His intelligence and personality comepletely changed by the end which is what I believe led to his demise. If Light was the same Character that defeated L, he would have come out on top. It was never directly mentioned but it was strongly implied that his defeat of L changed him as a character and turned him to arrogance, causing his cautiousness to change into cockyness. It saddened me watching him slowly fall into despair as he continued to overestimate himself and underestimate Ls protoges. Not once did light underestimate L himself, he viewed him as his Arch rival.
I mean, he would have still won against Near if either Mikimi had been more cautious or he had told him he was capable of killing off threats with pieces of the death note.
@@cormacb2326 Ehhh, the plan was kinda half baked compared to his L era schemes. He had to rely on more people, which means the plan got overly complicated, which makes it easier to make a mistake for Mikami.

Actually, there was one major flaw Light showed several times in the series. Every time he was within seconds of achieving his goal, when he was certain that he would come out on top, he revealed his true intentions, whether it was through words or demeanor. For some examples: the deaths of Raye, Naomi, L, and in the final showdown, where it obviously resulted in his demise. He was way too cocky even from the start, and that cockiness finally got the best of him; he was reigning as essentially an unchecked godlike figure for years before Near caught up to him. As much as I resent the direction the show took after L died, and in my opinion Near was literally the only bad character in the show, Light's development did make sense.
After L died my eyes became very Watari and I knew end was Near.

so Lights dad took the eye deal and died later that night.. so he would have died naturally just a few hours later? so he really just shortened his own suffering from the explosion AND got the shinigami eyes for a few hours .. pretty good deal tbh

I think you got it wrong how Ryuk got his second notebook. Sidho dropped his death note in the Shinigami Realm and when a Shinigami drops his book in the Shinigami Realm it ends up with the Shinigami King. Ryuk then claimed the book belonged to him.

@@kyrieeleison9599 No the problem isn't the whole convincing part, the problem is saying Ryuk stole the book from sidho without mentioning that sidho dropped it and it was essentially a lost and found object. It's posed in the video as Ryuk went to Sidho and took it then disputed the ownership with the Shinigami King.

I was team L but was so sad when Light died.
Probably because he was the character we saw descend into madness? When Light is weakly running along the fence near the end and we see young, innocent Light, that’s what got me. What he could’ve been if he never picked up the note book. Him and L could have become great friends and amazing detectives, working together rather than against each other.

Dude this comment deserves more likes. I couldn't agree more. I kinda hate Light but at the same time I feel bad for him, because you never entrust a human being with too much power. Excessive power brings out the evil in you & turns you into a monster.
Also all that happened in the Death Note universe was pretty much bound to happen given a Shinigami would one day make a dumb decision, so I guess it's the fault of whoever created those creatures for that purpose in the first place (in that specific universe).

Am I they only one that found Light and L bromance was adorable. The best parts were the moment where L told Light that he was he's only friend and the scence where L was massaging Light's feet. I felt that Light had a side that was sad when L died. He said once that it was too easy without him 😭😭😭

near was very strong and sensible in every move, he was very fast in ending up suspecting Yagami Light. Both Ryuzaki and near very similar behavior, they both had obsession on something, which they used to figure out the case and come up with theories easily. it was food (especially sugar) for l lawliet and toys for near. their hairstyles were both kind of similar, Their faces were similar, near had the smile of L and so on.
this really helped me i just got back into DEATHNOTE after like 2 years when I stopped watching so this helped
