This episode included my favorite single line from the entire series: "Hey Scrooge, it's Gene, the genie. I am currently being stolen."
For anyone who reads this and wonders what the hockey sticks we're talking about, it's when Scrooge goes "Please don't waste those" over the stapler being used. It's a callback(?) to the first part of the "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" storyline when Smithers "attacks" Principal Skinner.
I still love the fact that the joke "You're the oldest person in the world how is your password not 1234!" is then reinforced by Scrooge having a FLIP PHONE and CALLING everyone at the end. The little details of this show...
You know it's serious when Beakley joins in with Scrooge's paranoia and goes full on Agent 22
@jf k
It could have something to do with Webbys parents.
Ngl I thought that they were going to do a plot twist that that was Red Herring because if Webby can disguise her voice and act as Dewey why couldn’t Red Herring then I realized that...
Shout out to my fav jokeof the episode:
"Boy I'm glad we're out of the time loop room....Boy I'm glad we're out of the time loop room...Boy I'm glad we're out of the time--"
"SNAP OUT OF IT, MOM!"
I'd say that both Scrooge and Beakley's emotional breakage were actually slowly upsetting. Scrooge seems to be pretty annoyed by flaws in Gyro's system. At first it can be mistaken for laughs from Scrooge seemingly not getting the point that Della and Louie could have been killed. Then you slowly start to realize that, even barely, they can exploit said weaknesses, FOWL is several steps ahead already, and indeed they were. Scrooge basically realizes there's a high likelihood he'll lose everything. Same with Beakley. Sure, we all laughed at the fact that Webby can be genuinely terrifying, especially to the nephews, but even when she realizes she's gone too far, Beakley knows that even their definition of too far isn't far enough for FOWL. The fact they have this looming crisis that they can't even imagine or predict caused almost everyone to lose it. Huey has been proven once again that being the factual, logic driven character means nothing. The one character that really stands out is Louie. He's relatively unshaken and seems to find everything a nuisance because he's the ONLY one who knows that they've always been up to the challenge. Seriously, a deeply psychological look at crisis in a cartoon series.
Also, this episode would make a GREAT video game if done right.
Yep
I just realized something.
Gyro is definitely AT LEAST a millionaire with how much Scrooge pays him to build things.
Gyro doesn't seem like the person that would care much about money, beyond having enough to fund his mad science.
@@DivineFalcon Yeah he pre-orders millions of bulbs lmao
Most of costs were probably suplyes and puting stuff together.
Gyro himself is broke all his money goes to research and repairs when an invention inevitably blows up
@@DillonMaynard Is that what the producers said (if not, though, I can see it)?
"Wow, Mom, you had that Gyro insult locked and loaded, huh?"
"A man makes you chew black licorice for a decade you come up with some insults."
Tbf, Gyro has that one coming
@@adcgdsin9320 I'm still waiting to see a moment or scene in an episode that has Della and Gyro in the same room. See what happens lol 🤣
I wanted Louie to tell della to thank gyros because if it weren’t for black liquorice she would be DEAD.
@@bookwormgamer3924 Personally, I think her tirade against him was totally uncalled-for, as hilarious as it was. If it weren't for his gum, she never would have survived to make it back to her kids.
Purple room is easily the best trap no questions. Getting to see them feel hopeless over a trap was a treat. Watching Della explode over having to taste nothing but black liquorice for 13 years was the best part. I'd be so angry at gyro for that myself! The other traps were just too easy. Manipulate gravity, fight a giant robot. Getting through invisible saws was just insane and stupidly dangerous. It was perfect.
I was waiting for her to throw some insults out about oxychew. So glad that they referenced that in some form.
I don't mind the taste of black licorice, as long as the texture is fine.
Well to be fair, there were obviously a LOT more traps we didn't get to see, including a time loop trap which might've taken years to break (from their perspective), the tentacles and such. But yeah, invisible saws is pretty good.
@@ConsoleWarriors I actually wanna see that room
What about the time loop room?
What about the time loop room?
What about the time loop room?
The ultra violet ultra violent bulb room was my favorite. I'm just so proud of Louie for his character growth and I'm happy he finally got that bonding episode with Della
same
Darkwing needs to ask Fenton about that ultraviolet tech
Agreed. :-)
Interesting how huey acted in this episode, similar to season 2 episode 1 and dufus drake's birthday party, huey shows signs of severe anxiety. The poor child was terrified
Don't forget season 1 episode 9 where he was terrified of the unknown.
Add in the video game he played with Della. He, in a controlled environment with no real risk outside of the game, could not leave his comfort zone, his safety bubble, even to make the 10 paces to the checkpoint to turn in his experience points.
Add in the woodchuck challenge when he was prevented from using his guidebook he struggled significantly because he lacked the comfort of what he knew.
Huey is a kid so afraid of the unknown and leaving his comfort zone that this episode essentially showed off everyone preparing for the worst and for expecting the unexpected that Huey handled it the worst. He doesn’t know how to prepare for the unknown because he can’t leave his comfort zone.
I actually thought that Donald was going to fight Beakly after he called her out, maybe even call Webby his kid like he does the boys
Same here.
Well, to Donald, Webby already is one of his kids. That got established in season 1.
Remember in "Daytrip of Doom" when Donald learned the Beagle Boys had kidnapped the nephews and Webby, he charges at them with the war cry "Give me back my boys!"
But in "The Shadow War", the finale of that season, when he stays behind to fight Magicas Shadow Clones while the kids goes to save Scrooge his war cry has changed to "Stay away from my KIDS!" Not boys, not nephews, kids. Webby was already an honorary niece.
What makes Bradford more of a threat from others including General Lunaris is how well hidden he kept FOWL under Scrooge's nose, smart planning, and having a organization that has weaknesses in the individual members yet each also having strengths if orchestrated well.
Most of all compare Lunaris who didn't know Scrooge on a inside level like Bradford does yet successful planed out a attack against Scrooge only losing when Scrooge worked with the chaotic Glomgold. Bradford has deeper insights and means against Scrooge when tons of plans hidden, knowledge and secrets gained, and now out in the open less hesitantly to attack and other means against Scrooge and the family.
I have a feeling all the gained and unknown allies going against Fowl is what will play out in the end showing streangh from family, friends, and experience. Round two going differently much like how Darkwing and Launchpad couldn't best Steelbeck in combat but the Resuce Rangers did getting the surprise jump on him and Darkwing now experience for round two with Launchpad and Gosalyn by his side to take Steelbeak down
Also even if Scrooge got desperate enough to go "blast it all, let's just have Glomgold make another crazy scheme, it worked last time!"-Bradford knows Glomgold's schemes!
Scrooge could reach for any of his allies, rivals or even enemies, but Bradford probably knows them as well as Scrooge does. Plus another Bradford has going for him is that he has less of an ego then the other villains. I mean don't get me wrong-he has hell of a god complex to believe he knows what is best for the world but he is willing to work from the shadows, be unknown, even (spoilers for "the first adventure, spoiler ends in next paragraf) forgotten.
Everyone else has the need to rub everything in Scrooge's, or whoever else's, face-Magica, Glomgold, Beaks, Lunaris. Hell, even SCROOGE has that side to himself.
Bradford is the opposite-which makes him WAY more dangerous. A giant golden rocket in the sky? A whirpool of stolen shadows? A giant ferris-wheel turned cannon? Well, it won't be easy but you can fight any of those. You know your target. But you can't fight something or someone when you can't even see it.
Scrooge doing the cane bounce made me so damn happy.
I was fist pumping the air when he did that.
If Ms. Beakly wanted to, she could be the most dangerous villain in the series.
I may be overthinking this, but I think each episode in this season with Huey is apart of his arc, in which his identity, personality, and perception of reality are being challenged.
Also I think this episode is foreshadowing something about Beakley, maybe something about her past.
Agreed. I think it has to do with Webby’s parents and it whenever it is will shock her to her core.
I'm totally into it
Just like Dewey was in season 1 and Louie was in season 2. In season 4 it probably will be Webby. ;-)
she's fibbing *fibbing* FIBBING
@@swiatowidciesslak6249 I wish
I honestly loved the robot, mainly since we got to see Scrooge do the NES game cane bounce.
@@Grauenwolf to my knowledge no

@@LizardOfOz69 Actually, the first time Scrooge did the pogo cane jump was in "Last Christmas". And "Moonvasion" was the second time he used it. ^^
@@AshFangirlLisa oh yeah, forgot.
@@AshFangirlLisa Still awesome though
Oh my gosh! I LOVE Webby in this episode. All the tricks she came up with were just great. It really shows her skills. Plus, she knew when things went too far and to stand up to her grandmother, who was having fear control her thoughts, actions and decisions. Webby alone made this episode enjoyable.
Add in Scrooge just going out right crazy to the point of creating death traps that he wasn't satisfied enough with, plus the fight at the end of the ImpossiBin, and it made such a good episode.
This is one of the better episodes of Season 3. I really enjoyed it in the end.
Let's see what that sword brings though. I'm sure it's important in the end.
Mrs Beakly's behavior this episode along with the harp of mervana catching her lying to Webby about secrets leads me to think there is much more going on here than her normal overprotective nature. There is something that she does not want anyone else to know.
I have two theories. Either or both may be true. Theory 1: FOWL had something to do with the fate of Webby's parents. We have had nothing so far about their identities or why Webby is living with her Grandma. This is something the show has done often in the show finding them may be the next big adventure arc. Theory 2: Mrs Beakly may be working with FOWL in some way. I think they had her spy on Scrooge and keep him restrained from adventuring. I doubt she is a willing traitor but if she had to choose between protecting Webby and remaining loyal to Scrooge, she would certainly choose Webby. Especially if the first theory is true. It lines up with most of Beakly's behavior so far. She was very reluctant to let Scrooge and the kids go adventuring. It is also clear that she is willing to go to great lengths to protect Webby, including keeping her locked in a mansion most of her life and outright lying to her.
My favorite trap was the Magic Runes. Especially when Louie and Scrooge had to walk on each other feet. The subplot with Mrs.Beakley was intense but, the situation had resolved itself nicely. Speaking of Mrs.Beakley, I love this reboot version of her, she is smart, tough, a great role model, & one of the most capable characters in the series.
You know, this chapter was simply amazing, we had good interactions, characters development exposition and a authentic inner conflict.
In first place, writers took the right choice, separate the family in those teams was the best decision, I don't know if someone else noticed this but the tricks used by Webby were the same Louie used in Glomtales, so I think if he would have been in the mansion, probably webby's tricks wouldn't have worked so well. Also, Keeping Della away from the mansion was necessary too, she probably had stopped Beakley when she was gone so far, without them Webby had the opportunity to show a little rebel behavior and face off her Grandma, a good change in the character. Also, we had the opportunity to see how much Louie has growth up, obviously he is not as reckless as his brother Dewey, but now he can show bravery if it is necessary, on the other had, he is not as smart as his brother Huey, but he can use logical and rational thinking to resolve problems, he is a good balance.
Scrooge and Beakley were amazing too. I guess this is the first time we see Scrooge so worry about an enemy, after all, we are taking about who was his right hand for a long time and in an odd way, his friend; Beakley on the other hand, finally we see her really affected by something, I don't know what happened with FOWL in the past, but I really look forward to find out.
Momdella and Dadonald were precious, I don't care Della' skills, the only scene I need is Della protected Louie; Donald face off Beakley was good, but I would have liked to see more interectation between them, after all, they are overprotective parents.
I am very expecting about Huey development, he must solve his big problem about trust only his knowledge and start to think logic and rationally.
The Purple Room was probably my favorite trap in the episode for how ludicrously deadly it was. I feel like it actually might have been effective against FOWL agents, at least those who haven’t had experience dealing with Gyro and his tech.
Also I do agree that Mrs. Beakley did go a bit too far. Firstly, there is no way that randomly siccing your hypercompetent ninja granddaughter on the comparatively normal Huey and Dewey would achieve much of anything except what we saw in the episode proper- making them paranoid and panicky. It’s like giving them a test without giving them a chance to study at all. She remains sympathetic because of her intentions and motivations but for a large chunk of the episode I thought she was either under mind control or replaced with an impostor due to how the attacks could basically be construed as psychological warfare.
My favorite trap was either the robot at the end or the purple sawblade room, since I didn't even consider the solution to that one.
And I was very much thinking the same thing that the story would go in the direction of Huey having to learn to be deceptive himself in order to outsmart Webby, so it was interesting to see the show took that scene in a much different direction, as they avoided what in retrospect, would have been a very obvious plot point otherwise.
I think this is the first time we've seen Beakley cry in this series. It seems that we'll get to learn about a potential tragic backstory by the end of the season.
Well yeah, she not usually emotional in outward way
Isabel Brokaw yep I think so
me too
Here's hoping. My theory is that Webby's parents were SHUSH agents, who either went missing or "otherwise" on a mission against FOWL. And this has caused Beakley to not want to lose her granddaughter the same way she lost her daughter.
@@philricciotti1724 Believe it or not, I have the exact same theory. Beakly probably hasn't brought it up because she may blame herself for what happened much like Scrooge did.
Beakley's reaction makes me wonder if this whole situation is reminding her of how Webby lost her parents and she lost her child.
Also on the note of beakley, in the end of season 2 it was really weird to see that the end photo FOWL had took webby was the only one not visible her head was turned, going back to the confidential case files of agent 22 scrooge called her vanderduck not quack maybe a common misconception but I think it hints to bigger things. And in the lost harp of mervana beakley is hiding something, and she's nervous about it, she didn't train webby for nothing and in the imposibin episode we see why webby was so vigorously trained because beakley is hiding something, something about webby something that made her fear so much that she trained webby to protect herself from that. Also in the latest episode, gandra Dee scans webby and she has file on her which is interesting
Call me Crazy but I think this would all hint to Webby meeting her (maybe evil or enslaved) Parents, and there would be a SERIOUS Confrontation with Her, Her Parents & Beakley
@@michelk.8008 no that's my theory too
@@michelk.8008 also interesting I recently rewatched timephoon and terror of the terra firmians and oddly enough they showed huge things about beakleys charecter,#1 being that beakley was afraid of lena being a bad influence, she legitimately wanted lena cut completely out of their life, and in time phoon she says 2 noteable things,#1 small issues can become big things #2 "their good kids but even good kids do stupid things" which leads me to believe her son or daughter had a friend of the opposite gender, this friend taught beakleys kid "bad" things but beakley let it slide, this friend was actually a part of fowl and knew it was her kid, by letting her kid get away with "small things" it led to her kid running away to fowl completely turned
I like that Steelbeak is the one that steals from Darkwing Duck which is just more fuel to the reboot fire
Personally, what I liked about FOWL's and Bradford's portrayal is them serving as shoutouts to HYDRA in the MCU existing as a parasite organisation within SHIELD itself.
And the episode's end scenes reminded us of that.
Still liking Bradford, he definitely giving me Mr Greer from POI vibes.
I genuinely enjoy how dry and polite he is even when he's threatening.
"Hello, Scrooge. Others."
@@seaniccus I wonder what Fenton's reaction will be when he finds out Gandra is working for fowl, will he have to kill her?
On that note will the villains be killed by the heroes?
@@seaniccus Definitely say the last few episodes have gotten me hyped for the rest of the season with F.O.W.L
I still don't know how he thinks that F.O.W.L. is going to help him reign in chaos. They clearly have no interest in any of that.
@@klimmr it seems like they want to cause more chaos
When they're on the roof and Webby says "we trust eachother" and Beakly goes "Webby, I... I...." I'm sorry but she big sus. She's not what she seems. She's hiding something
Am I the only one that reads more into Ms.Beakly and how obviously the episode foreshadows a betrayal from her?
I feel that Beakly's behavior pretty much shows that Webby's parents were killed by F.O.W.L. I feel like there have been hints of this in past episodes, but this one practically came out and said it.
With how out of character she was acting, I was expecting it to be revealed she'd been replaced with a FOWL agent trying to drive them apart.
FOWL is going to eject all the magic and supernatural into another dimension.
Something I just realized upon rewatching this episode is that the one who went after the Salego Circuit and fought Darkening was Steelbeak, a great nod to him originally being a DW villain.
This episode made me want a Della and Gyro focused episode
I've wanted that since season 2! They never even gave them a line of interaction!

I think Drake got his ass kicked by Steel beak.
"Didn't get his name."
Kinda wish we can see the fight

Webby being Dewy was my favorite moment. It was funny, but had that undercurrent of unsettling that Webby brings to the party.
I'm calling it now... Beakley is a double-agent for FOWL
This episode showed us a side of Scrooge that we’ve never seen before. He’s scared for once he might actually be up against someone who can outsmart him because Bradford knows how to do it it’s great that we see that fro the first time in this show
I just have to say it: your ducktales reviews are always a highlight for me. thank you for these great videos!
Beakley had something that she wanted to admit to during the fight with Webby and she didnt, it makes me wonder about the parents of Webby theories floating around. Plus the thing with the truth harp and Beakley fibbing about not having more secrets.
There's Donald Duck magazine's comic book storyline that introduced gravity shifting spell of Magica the Spell which was quite entertaining.
Thats one of the greatest Comics made by Don Rosa in my opinion. In the Episode they are even called Rosa-Runes :D
Beakley clearly has a lot of baggage from her years fighting FOWL. Considering how hard she pushes Webby, it might relate to the question of what happened to Webby's parents.
With FOWL rising again and Bradford Buzzard the leader, Scrooge felt betrayed after being spied by his “most trusted business partner” while Beakley after hearing of FOWL’s return trying to destroy the family is on edge pushing the family to extremes on being ready to face them since she knows perfectly well on how dangerous they are.
If FOWL is really many steps ahead since the beginning, they must’ve been collecting every information on not just the McDuck family, but also everything they have very close connections with. They could even gather information from past events like the Shadow War and the Moonlanders invasion. It’s about studying all of Scrooge’s close allies and enemies to know every flaws, strategies, schemes, weaknesses, etc. and come up with perfect strategies and even see angles of situations that are possibly better than Lunaris.
BUT THE BIN IS STILL NOR SECUREDDDDD lol
That’s not what FOWL is after
I saw the Ep all ready before the review and i am looking forward to the next Ep of the show on my DVR
If this is the end of ducktales then by god is it trying to go out with a bang
I really like how the new Ducktales dialed the intimidation factor of F.O.W.L. up a dozen notches. They did a good job of making them really feel like an unstoppable enemy for the McDuck crew.
I do think Ms. Beakley did go to far, but I'm hypothesizing that it may have to do with some past regret she encountered when fighting F.O.W.L. That maybe F.O.W.L. brainwashed someone she cared for and was forced to fight. Perhaps, perhaps it was Webby's parents. That maybe the reason why she's been raising Webby. Perhaps F.O.W.L. did something to them that Ms. Beakley wasn't strong enough to save them and they paid the ultimate price. Again just my theory.
She did change careers for some reason
I wonder what Scrooge meant by putting the system in "Test Mode". At first I assumed it meant "non-lethal", but clearly that wasn't it.
you are the best channel ever!
The fact that you didn't show the clip were webby impersonates dewey is almost insulting. (I'm just kidding, the video was great and so was the episode. Keep up the good work!)
Awesome that you mentioned the Don Rosa comic when Magica De Spell changed the gravity. I thought of it the moment I saw the gravity-change in action. Since I started watching this Ducktales series and started to notice that the creators brought in Easter eggs and references from all over the place, I have been more keen to keep my eyes open to the details.
The old Disney-shows and comics were a HUGE part of my childhood, and it's amazing to see it meant a lot to the creators as well.
All of Scrooge's traps were very creative and brought a lot of great action. Webby's moments were also enjoyable with how she always surprised Huey and Dewey.
The only thing that bothered me was that Donald was pushed into the background for most of the episode. I know he was setting up security around the mansion, but they still could've given him more focus. Maybe he could've shown the kids how he set in these safety measures, or train with Mrs. Beakley to improve his fighting skills.
Now the ending was had a great hook to it. I wonder what FOWL will do with all of those artifacts and how Clan McDuck will overcome them.
I wonder what happened to Launchpad ? He didn't appear with DW.
Darkwing
This episode was one hell of a way to establish how much of a threat F.O.W.L. is.
you know besides killing the duck family which I'm against I kind of understand Bradford's motivation that their adventures can cause collateral damage
When I first saw this episode my favorite part was when Webby realized that she had gone too far and had to fight her grandmother. Beakley is Webby's hero, and for the longest time was her only family (it's easy to forget that she's only really known the nephews and everyone else for about 3 years at this point). Having Webby being driven so emotionally far that she has a legitimate conflict with her hero made me see how much Webby has grown since meeting Huey, Loue, and the third one.
My favorite thing was that Louie was on the board as possible traitors with Donald and i don’t think anyone questioned it.
Just a silly thing from the original series, but seeing as nobody else mentioned it, my favorite bin trap was when one Beagle Boy (aka Burger) gets lured away with the smell/sight of food, showing how well Scrooge knew his adversaries.
Great video! Loved learning the history of the bin's security. Thanks Sean!
I thought Beakley was being mind controlled or a robot by FOWL with how much they were pushing the "expect an attack from anywhere" storyline. So I think they were not super clear with that storyline, casue even when they were saving her from falling off the roof I thought she was gonna attack them again. But overall I really loved the episode and all the traps, you're right they are a very big and nostalgic part of the money bin and the stories around it.
totally a scrooge episode, the best kind.
but it is strange that Hewie can't protect himself. there must be a lot of info on self defense in the guidebook.
*huey
My trap room was the time loop room & I think dr. strange wants to bargain with scrooge here
This was a great episode. Also, has anyone else already noticed the absence of Launchpad? Has he already taken the mantle of DW's sidekick? Or just not in this episode? 🤔 Makes me hopeful for the DW remake..But this episode was great as a set up for what is to come with F.O.W.L. A storm is coming, and it's up to the McDuck family to stop them. Can't wait!! Great video! 😊❤
Hate to say it but the purple room was probably the weakest trap.
Just shoot out the bulb and the threat is neutralized.
I felt like something besides wanting to prepare them to fight FOWL was driving her. IT felt like during the emotional climax she was able to reveal something, but that just a feeling I have,
Liquid asset's that's how he's able to swim through it
this dudes a legend he faced the money bin,s traps to make his intro
I thought that the basement was Gyro's lab. The library is just one of the normal rooms.
I understood gyro's lab to be the sub-basement, it's under the sea, even lower.
I really loved the emotional high point of bleakly pushing her family to the edge, and donald stepping up to defend them. If i had one gripe with the episode, I would have liked to see more of the Bin's traps-I feel like we saw too few of them. Obviously we can't have dedicated scenes for a bunch of them, that would take too long and get repetitive, but maybe a quick montage would do.
The episode is so crazy I love it! It makes me more hyped for FOWL
Scrooge having 3 cubic acres of money makes me laugh like how much of a flex is that? When you're so rich you gotta invent a whole new unit of measurement just to quantify it
The money bin is important for mr Mcduck. 😀👍

Okay, while Webby being terrifying is hilarious, Huey and Dewey definitely have PTSD or some kind of trama from this-
Scrooge's password bothers me. If it's the sum total of all his wealth, it should be a constantly fluctuating number. Every time one of his employees buys a box of staples or accepts a payment, the number would change. Even if Scrooge had the most recent number, Bradford couldn't as he's been out of the loop for some number of days.
I think they mean the money that in the money bin surly he also have money in multiple banks
He's a really old guy with a not so great memory. I'm wondering why he didn't have biometric security. I mean, there's a finite amount of number and/or letter combinations, but biometrics is harder to fake. I mean, it still wouldn't have helped because Bradford, but it seems more secure than one silly alphanumeric that any program can hack.
I can't choose! Everything in this episode I loved. Can't wait to see what Beakley is hiding.

Beakley went so far I was almost sure it was going to turn out that she'd been replaced by a FOWL doppelganger. The only member of the family treated as above suspicion.
I think Beakley's reaction to FOWL being back has something to do with FOWL being the reason for Webby's parents not being around.
I was beginning to think Beakley was a F.O.W.L. Agent in disguise
My favourite trap was purple saws. But my favourite part of the movie was scene with Scrooge calling to everyone and finds out, what FOWL stoled.
