Douglas loves you so much. I love watching the cats try to distract you and love them up.
I wonder if the cats only like being scratched and such, but maybe they don't like being picked up and cuddled, as I never see anything more than loving hand pats.
@@dianequist835Are you a newish viewer?
Russell one of the Orange cats is constantly jumping in Laura's lap.
Something I noticed today and more recently, but Laura has probably been saying forever, is the word "we" when decribing what she's going to be doing. I just thought it was a sweet way to speak - communicating as if "we" are right there with her working in the garden. Thanks, Laura, for making us feel a part of your journey!💗🌱
She always says “we,” even though she does the front of the camera work. 🌸
I think her "we" is meaning she and Aaron her husband.
😂That sassy, adorable Douglas. Love him. ❤❤❤
Laura's excitement is infectious! And her kitties love her.
Great seed variety. Love all the bulbs. I'm sure it wil be a beautiful showing of colors. Love all you do. And so much energy.❤❤❤❤
You should plant the iris around the pond area. The tall variety is beautiful in that setting.
Brave woman? So chilly 35° brr ❄️❄️❄️ kitties so sweet to support her efforts to produce beauty for the spring 🌸❇️🪷🕊️ it's going to be absolutely gorgeous 🤩
OMG! My back is killing me from watching you plant all those bulbs! LOL! I love Douglas!
I remember being young and strong. Could move those concrete pots like they were nothing. Keep moving! I love your channel and your garden!!
You amaze me Laura...every morning I get my coffee and sit down and check RUclips to see if you have anything up. It makes my day better when I start it off with you !! ❤❤
Thanks for posting your videos in the late evening, for me I usually wake up about 2am, so it's such a great thing for me to watch you, it's quiet and I can enjoy this!! So when I fall back asleep around 5am, I dream about my spaces that I'm so ready to plant up. Like y'all, not a bad Winter so far!! I've started some seeds on heat mats and now I want to put some bulbs in the ground tomorrow!! Thanks from an insomniac..... ❤ In North Carolina, zone 7b
I'm up early hours also... great idea to watch and then dream.. UK watcher
Good to see all the new seed packets and the bulbs getting planted. Thankyou for all the tips you give to make gardening more successful and less strenuous!!!!!!!
Russell expert bulb supervisor .🐈
Excited for the outcome this spring❤❤❤
Oh, I can't wait to see all those beautiful tulips up in the spring!! I am sooo ready to see all the beautiful blooms in your gardens!😊❤
I admire your work ethic so much. You have more energy than anyone I've seen or know. I enjoy watching your content. You are a good mother and daughter. You show your pets love when working. Russell & Douglas are good company keepers. I don't see Cheddar much. I'm retired & enjoy starting my day watching your videos.
ONCE I modeled her production and effort for one day. I was exhausted the next!🌸
Douglas has some sass today! LOL He needs to take some cues from Russel, such a gentleman. So glad you are planting bulbs as a box of daffodils and tulips stare at me begging to go in the ground. I don't feel so bad. You are my inspiration for all things garden!
I admire your dedication in getting out there when it’s so cold to get those bulbs planted. You’re right, they will give you such joy when they come up.
GOSH ! 35 DEGREES 😮 Here too In IOWA. But, I don't even want to walk to my car let alone plant a hundred Tulips!!!! YOU ROCK LAURA !!!!!!❤
Douglas rarely misses Laura’s outdoor activity.
When did they get Douglas? He just appeared one day.
all your bulbs look so pretty I hope to see them when there all In bloom
Russel stops by to check things out and Douglas stops by for lovin and play😂”watcha doin mom”???
That’s going to be so pretty 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️🍸🍸🍸
Our cat is almost a year old. He looks like Douglas’s brother and acts like him too!Ine minute purring next minute swiping
at us😅🐈⬛
Can’t wait for spring!
Makes me want to plant more bulbs!
Laura; what a beast in the garden!! I'm here for all of it!! 💚
Laura what a sense of accomplishment you must feel getting all those bulbs planted !! What a show we'll have in the spring and those geraniums you started look so healthy. Have a nice day everyone !!
Laura, you're the only person I know who plants bulbs in January!
🌷 how fun to be planting bulbs in January!!
.
So excited to watch the “new” property be worked up.. Im here for all of it..
Hey Aaron & Laura; have you guys ever heard of Russ Finch & how he grows oranges in Nebraska? He is amazing & gives several tours weekly. How cool would that be to make a family tour before spring? Maybe get ideas for future projects? Love everything you guys do.
You are such an inspiration and I appreciate you
Beautiful tulips and irises!!!
Laura
I love the tree in the Hartley. I'd call that a Winter Tree. Not specific for Christmas but decorated for Winter.
I constructed a holiday tree out of old wire lamp shades (three different sizes) and I switch out ornaments for the different holidays( shamrocks for St Patrick's Day, Easter eggs for Easter, red, white and blue for July, etc...
It's always so nice to watch your videos. Thank you
I do love your work ethic.. it spurred me on last year cos I'd just finished a work contract and weather was good but I've got too many plants now and my garden looks a bit busy, cos I saw your plants and just wanted, bought and planted them 🤣 I have to rein in and just watch you!... its so hard.... all your wonderful ideas and energy.. 😊 .. yeah that's not gonna happen, I'm after some seeds and bulbs now.. 😆🤣
The dwarf irises are beautiful. I have some in my garden. Love to watch you gardening!
Hello.
I am in Florida and despite vast differences in growing area I find your content very jndpirational snd underlying principles for many things are useful to me. Couple game changer bits of info I learned from you, Espoma bio tone and Felco pruners and care of them.
Many other things, too. Thank you❤
Fantastic Inspiration!
Love Russell and Douglas!
🪻🐈
Can't wait to see all these in bloom in the spring!
Good music during bulb planting
Can't wait to see it all. It's going to look amazing 👌🌸🌹
So excited for the season coming! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us each day. It fills me up and is a great distraction in a tough time medically.
Take good care - hoping you will heal and recover soon.
I love the Apricotta cosmos. They’re quickly becoming my favorite. ❤
They sound gorgeous! 🌸
You make me laugh Laura! I thought I was running late planting some last minute bulbs in December.... but with the mild winter we're having, hopefully we will be successful with the "winter" planted flowers. 🙂 No time like today to plant a beautiful garden for tomorrow!
Planted two hundred tulips today. If it does not rain, 350 more tomorrow! Total this year over 1,000. Purest digging trenches here!
I often do this. I store them in my garage fridge and plant in January to make sure I get the chill hours in for blooms. We dont always have cold winters where I am in Virginia. It works great. Happy gardening! 🌷❤️⚘️
These gardens with the newly planted bulbs are going to be beautiful.
The bulbs are gonna look so good when they come up! You have plenty of supervision with the kitties giving their approval 😂!
I could watch you plant bulbs all day long. I get excited about future videos & seeing them bloom! Just finished planting my last round of Averyon tulips & it will be worth the effort, for sure.
Just want to say, I really appreciate the music and sound editing you and your team are doing. It’s just right. I realize how difficult that is and you all nail it every video. Happy New Year!
Watching your video sped up like that made me wish that it was really possible when doing yard work 🤣. You are such a bundle of energy…we love watching your channel. Those tulips are going to be beautiful this spring, can’t wait to see them all in bloom 💞
I like the meteorologist Laura! Thanks for the gardening shot in the arm this morning, those tulips will be a welcomed sight come next spring.
It's so hard not to order too many seeds and plants this time of year! I admire your restraint :)
Spring is just around the corner and they will look beautiful.
You are such an inspiration ⭐ so much energy keep making it beautiful 👍
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️
Oh Laura, surely the packet said pelargoniums 😉 and people, if you plant small iris reticulata in a pot cover the soil with gravel as it will protect the small blooms from splashback when you water them in the spring.
Good 🌄 Morning I love the tree in the Hartley. I think I'd leave it up for the winter. It's so beautiful. 🎄
Love your shoes!!! They look so comfortable !!😊
They will look so beautiful come spring.
On board with uncomplicated 😍
Laure you know you don't have to plant bulbs with the point up and roots down. The sun will cause them to find their way. Love you and your videos. Please show us more about planting wheat and please do more cooking. That butternut squash recipe was fantastic.
Common sense says you’re right about bulb positioning. 🌸
Spring will be beautiful.
To save myself all the bending down to put the bulb into the hole, I use a reaching tool to hold the bulb so I can place it right side up.
Good morning Laura and family 👨👩👧👧
Oh I so love you out in your property planting Spring bulbs, can't wait to see the Beautiful bulb colors. Have a wonderful rest of the day and weekend 🌷🌷 🙂 👋 🌱
You make it look so easy! Thanks for being there, you make my day and inspire me to grow stuff!
Can you imagine that you could plant bulbs in January. Crazy weather.
We've never grown geraniums from seeds before! They are doing great! We are definitely going to try it! 🙂
I am in so California I too had never grown them from seed. I did it last spring and they all grew! And are all big plants with beautiful flowers on them currently!
@@RC-mc6rc that's awesome! 😀
Douglas is today’s helping cat!❤
Planting bulbs in Jan can you believe it 😱 how do you even remember where you planted all of them 😮 these are the moments I long for the most . Solitude in the garden time to think and reflect while gardening and planting for the wonderful spring / summer display. Hopefully this year I’m able to get out into my garden , I have had a health scare and need urgent treatment but by the grace of god it was caught early , prayers needed for Feb will be my procedure . Laura keep those vid coming I’m gonna need them to lift my spirits. 🥺 thank you , Aneurysms Sucks
GOOD MORNING TO YOU - always interesting to learn of your plans for each season. And to see you do all things is not only inspiration, but to know how well you know how to do these things.........it's always a miracle and wonder when everything comes to point. Just beautiful. Thank you, and HAPPY NEW AGAIN !!! 💚💛🧡
Hi Laura! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, it’s not the easiest job planting bulbs but it’s so rewarding when they bloom! I’ve had the blue and the eye of the tiger irises for years and when in bloom they last forever, making it well worth the effort to plant them. I can’t wait to see how everything begins to bloom once Spring starts.
Hi Laura so nice to see Russel. I love the irises first time I see the "tigers eyes" they are gorgeous .
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could plant anything outside in January! I’m jealous 😆 Can’t wait to see your gardens in spring.
Afternoon Everyone 🥰
Well done Laura🌷 . It will be a beautiful flowers show in spring and summer . Have agreat day. 🌻🌷🌻
Garden Answer is the perfect example of,"don't wish for it, but WORK for it". Great admiration for them.
I was thinking right along those lines as she was planting bulbs in the cold, and I thought, "Brrrr....Not me", but guess which one of us is going to have beautiful flowers and which one of us is going to have regrets. To be fair, even if I did get brave enough to head out into the cold, there isn't a single garden center anywhere near me that's carrying bulbs. I would have had to order extras in the fall.
Just today I stopped at a garden store and they had their bulbs on sale for 75% off. I bought a LOT for various containers.
Good for you!😅
Ohhh How I wish I could be doing early seed starting. This year I will have to live through you and all your beautiful gardening. In the past 4 months I have found out that my mom has a rare blood cancer and my dad has Dementia, so I’m juggling working, and also my blanket quilting side business, and running my parents to all there Drs appointments every week and taking care of them. This year I will miss spending time in my garden for sure. But my parents come first. So Thank You Laura for all your videos, I truly look forward to every single video you post, you are a Blessing♥️🤗♥️
Prayers for you and your parents. Bless you. 🙏💗
Dear sweet woman, if you were here in Southern Utah, I would so help you.
I'll bet there's someone near you who is similarly positioned -- willing & able to help you + your folks. ❤
Going through a similar situation. I feel for you!
Take care GA friend… 💜
@@freedomofreligion3248 your so sweet, I live way out in the country not real close to other family members(Ohio) that are willing to help. Of course they Always say they will, but when I really need the help I don’t get it. I’m blessed to still have them here with me, it’s very mentally draining on me, but I know that someday I won’t have them here. So all I can do is just keep trying to be positive and give them as much love as I can. ♥️
One year, I planted all my bulbs on Jan 2nd (my zone is Oct/Nov). When they came up in April, all of the tulips were as short as the grape hyacinths. I still don't know if it's 'cause I planted late or 'bad' bulbs 😅. I never planted late again!
Short tulips means they didn't get enough cold hours.
@mollylindsay1825 Ah! Makes sense. So if I chilled it before planting, it would've been fine?
Hi Laura! Seeds and bulbs are the theme today with Douglas supervisoring! Was good to see Russell. Cheddar must have found a warm spot somewhere. All of these iris and bulbs will be so pretty in Spring. Enjoy the rest of your day!
Maybe I missed it but I don’t recall you saying how Benjamin reacted to having a barn and the prospect of having a pony? He’s such a wise little man. I can picture his low key excitement. What great weather we’ve had so far this year. You in eastern OR and me in coastal DE. 🤞🏻😊
Good morning, Laura ☕️ What a gift of a season so far. Being able to plant in January 🙌🏻 Going to be a beautiful Spring for sure. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈🐈
I planted a lawn of 500 crocus bulbs and in the frost the crows came and ate every single one 😭 so very excited to see your garden in spring instead 😅😂
Tulip Finola are really lovely & they colour change from light pink to a lovely deep pink! They're supposed to be good for naturalising & coming back!
Good morning! Always planting!! Those flowers will be so pretty soon. And that is a small seed order compared to season’s past.
Douglas really loves to help you, doesn't he?
I'm glad you're enjoying winter so far. I'm in central NC (8a now) and we can garden year round. There's always something growing here.
I’m liking the Laura edition pink sneakers! 💕😊. Laura, we’re in the same zone, and I think you got those bulbs in at just the right time!! The storm coming in on this video will bring real winter temps for awhile 🥶
Oh how cute to see Russell and Douglas looking for some TLC😻from you, but yet watching over you😘
Poor Douglas. He’s struggling between really wanting affection and his fear and doubt with people. I adopted a cat like that a year ago. She’s finally come around the last two months and stopped that sudden lashing out. Give him time and he should finally stop misbehaving.
Heading out to look for geranium seeds now 😂 NEVER wonder if you inspire us, you do ❤
Oh the walkway will be beautiful this spring!
Your geraniums look amazing! Mine are a couple of weeks behind yours. I'll be potting up mine soon.
I bring my geraniums in and over winter them in a south window. Took cuttings today. Will root them in soil.
Finished up my bulbs new years day!! We are getting our first snow here in CT in years :) we have not had much in the way of snowy winters. And its been so warm!! things are blooming. Weird. Thinking early spring so we can see all the lovely bulbs
I just ordered 3 lisianthis also! I can't wait to get them in soil! Come on spring!
You are actually planting outside! Yippee!!!🎉🎉
The king of the garden, Douglass was getting impatient for attention.😼 Thank goodness for your patience, Laura.😆
There’s handsome Douglas!
Geraniums look amazing! I never started them from seed but I think I'll try now that I see how well they do! I planted another 300 bulbs before Christmas and can't wait for spring show! I can't wait to see yours in the spring! Property looks amazing!
Love ur shoes! Purple 270s! 💜
What a gift! To be able to plant bulbs in January! They’re going to look beautiful come spring! Good job you had gloves on when Douglas started to have a fist fight with you! Has he ever drawn blood? It must be something to do with that type of cat, we had one that looked just like Douglas (Daisy), and she would always do the same thing when you pet her.
