Inkee now have a Falcon plus that does connect to the Hero10 with the media mod, but there app is not up to scratch. They absolutely need to add motion time-lapse to the app. The new Falcon plus also allows you to charge the GoPro from the Gimbal, again a feature that would be great for a long night time motion time lapse of the stars. This lack of feature really really let's the Falcon plus down.
I ordered the Hohem iSteady Pro 4 about a week ago and I am excited to put it into my filming arsenal. I really like the idea of being able to remotely control the gimbal as well as the moving time laps feature. This is a good non biased review of the products features. I went with the Hohem due to its ease of installing to the gopro 10 and its larger grip for my beefy hands.. Comes with a nice case for easy packing on trips. I have the Moza Aircross 2 for my Canon 90D camera so I am no stranger to gimbals.. This will be a great item for my Gopro 10 on my upcoming Japan and Alaska 16 day cruise..
Thanks for comparison in gimbals. I believe Inkee may have been watching/ listening to your review as they now have inkee falcon plus which now accomodates the media mod. Not sure about control functionality via app for gopro hero10 if that was updated or fixed. Appreciate your clear and candid reviews. :)
After watching side by side reviews of these two gimbals I chose the Hohem due to the Timelapse feature and the price. I only paid $79 for mine on Amazon. I am pleased with it so far but the screen access is a downside but you adapt . There is a smart phone holder that screws into the side of the gimbal sold on Amazon that fits the previous Hohem model and this one as well for about $17 US. Now if Hohem could clear the screen from obstruction, allow the Media Mod , and make it a bit smaller , that would be unbeatable. Problem is , I believe that the Gopro gimbal market pales in comparison to the smart phone market so I suppose we're lucky to have this many options at all.
Someone on the DPReview forums has been testing the Hohem in low light. He found that the gimbal's stabilization just wasn't good enough. There were lots of little jerking motions. Now he is adding a layer of post-stabilization in DaVinci to clean it up, but this is far from an ideal solution. It would be good to see a side-by-side night video with these two to see if there's any difference. I suspect both these cheap gimbals will have similar issues (ideally you want a gimbal with sub-pixel stability), but maybe not.
I ordered the Hohem for the Go Pro 10 not knowing about the obstruction of the lcd, that's a definite deal breaker! It's getting returned to Amazon immediately. Thank you for this video.
I just purchased the Hohem due to the fact I can extend my Hero 10's battery life by plugging into gimbals internal battery. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these gimbals depending on what you want to use it for.
@@PostAtariGeneration "that's what the tripod thread is for" okjay, so the gimbal has a trip screw, but that is half of the equations. Is there bike or back pack "connector/attachement/clamp" that uses a tripod screw to make use of the gimbal's tripod thread?
I have the Hohem and you did a great job explaining its pros and cons. I’m new to GoPro 11 and Gimbals. I’m fairly technical but feel like I’ve got a lot of playing around and practicing with both. Hope that’s normal!
Inkee just announced their plus version which addresses all the cons you mentioned. Not confirmed but they also updated the app. Now you can mount mic mod, you can charge from the inkee and there is time-lapse within the app. Ooh time to upgrade
thanks again falcon plus is the same as the original, with a extended arm for hte MM and guess ifwe want the added features it has to be a new purchase.
There is a reason I still use the Hero7 with the Karma gimbal. Just insert into the holder and it is connected. Unfortunately GoPro is no longer interested in serving this part of the market, just supplying HyperSmooth to the crowd.
It is strange that they abandoned support of the Karma Grip. Even though Hypersmooth is good, there are reasons to use a gimbal and they are losing potential gimbal customers to other brands.
@@Gemini_Connect besides the hohem multi , is there one with good features and supports gopro11 with media mod? The multi is almost twice as expensive as the isteady 4
The greatest of all gimbals was the Karma grip, made by GoPro themselves, and it's a pity that the Falcon plus cannot match that. After using the Inkee Falcon plus for 3 months with the GoPro 11, media mod and DJI mics, I find the Bluetooth connectivity from the Falcon can be intermittent at times, plus the buttons are a bit fiddly using the gimbal one-handed, which I need. My main gimbal is now the Zhiyun M2S Crane. It carries my GoPro, the media mod and DJI wireless mics and gives amazing results. So, okay, the M2S will not connect to the gimbal, so I use the voice commands to the GoPro which is just as good, and after using the commands for a while, I find it more responsive and reliable than an intermittent Bluetooth connection that some gimbals suffer from, especially the Inkee.
Hey great video. I like the idea of the hohem but went with INKEE instead because how small it is.. and also the ability to work with not just the gopro hero 10. Sidenote: also you can use the media mod with the inkee gimbal. You’ll have to adjust the balance a bit and maybe tape a few quarters to help with the balance for the mic you decide to add.. and yea there you go. 😎 Great video.
This question is for anyone that has the falcon plus: Would I also be able to use the gimbal with my smartphone if I had a smartphone to gopro mount adapter? I'd be more apt to buy it if it worked on both action cams and smartphones.
Inkee must have heard you because the Falcon Plus supports Hero 10 in Media Mod. It also appears to play better with the Hero 10. It still mentions timelapse on the website, but it appears that its only function is to keep the camera pointed in one direction. Movement of the gimbal during timelapse is not possible.
I got my Hohem iSteady Pro 4 yesterday. Today I used it for an hour with my GP 11. Sadly its going back, I'm comparing apples to oranges but compared to my DJI Pocket its to big and bulky

Well INKEE's manual is the worst. But the most important downside is that many are reporting that the battery does not charge. The Manual Must state tutFront abd in bold that you cannot charge the Falcon Plus with a fast charger. If you do, the battery blows out!!!!! Some are also reporting that even after charging the battery drains in 30 minutes.
Wow. I haven’t had that happen.
@@Gemini_Connect Also is there a difference or an update between the Falcon Plus 2022 and 2024?
