Scat Cat was originally supposed to be voiced by Louie Armstrong and was originally going to be named Satchmo Cat because one of Louie Armstrong's nicknames was Satchmo. Unfortunately for Armstrong he couldn't do the role due to an illness making him unable to voice the character. Scatman Crothers came in to replace Armstrong
They did have Berlioz sing the words “ Oh Yeah!” A nice little nod to Louis Armstrong.

The Jazz I hear in this number is unparalled. Right up there with Satchmo, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington... doesn't even matter to me that 40% of the lyrics were completely lost on me as a kid-- this song was formative to my love of wild, big band music.
And harps... chills every time Duchess starts strumming...
I love Miss Eva Gabor's voice; her song in the middle (with the harp) is great to listen to.
This is my movie! Hands down one of my top 10 Disney movies ever. And this song is just so jazzy!! Love it

Well Woke Disney for you in a nutshell. They pretend that shit didn’t happen. That typically has away of biting you in the ass.
Disney + actually, they put a note for those who are watching the movie that there's cultural depictions in the movie that are wrong and would rather have the movie now in its full version rather than deny it was in.
For the soundtrack, specifically. I don't think they considered that bit a part of the song.

@lovehamsters14 Pixar hasn't killed Disney, Disney owns Pixar, but you still have a point. Disney doesn't make movies with the quality they once had. Princess and the Frog came close, but for now Pixar is filling in their spot for crowning animation, and I like it that way for now.

My favorite song in the film!
I thought it was because they didn't want to add any of the dialogue. Just like they muted their dialogue in the beginning of the music so we could hear the instrumental part, and they muted every other commentary the cats did while the song played (but the singed part of the melody is there)
Oh I never noticed the Eiffel tower in the background on the CD cover. I am going to see that for real in Paris soon it has always been my childhood dream to see that and the Notre Dame Chapel for real, I have only have ever seen it in cartoons. television and on films, I bet it looks beautiful in real life.

Does anyone ever wonder who the kitten's father was?
I have a theory:
Notice how Toulouse looks like O'Malley? He could very well be his son. Maybe Duchess was in a relationship with O'Malley in the past, which could've been why she started grooming herself when she saw him near the bridge. She was seeing him after a long time spent apart. It's hard to tell who Marie's father was because she looks like her mother but it could've been O'Malley too. However the dark gray cat (I forget his name) may possibly be ScatCat's son because they have the same color fur and they also wear red. Now the red just may be a coincidence but you never know. Now cats mate with many other cats, it's just part of their nature. But I feel like Duchess, O'Malley, and ScatCat decided to keep these relations a secret as the kittens are still young. But this is just my theory. Maybe it's not true, maybe she had them with a multicolored cat but we may never know. We're probably never going to get a sequel or a prequel because most of the actors are long dead.
