Hotwheels done a great job on all of these, but my favorite one is has to go to the 560 sec. Never saw a mainline hotwheels with so much love put into it since the r34. In my opinion that orange trophy truck Jeep is hands down the best. That’s my favorite mainline casting I got this year (although I have many favorites)..I think I bought 3 so I could open one. Then that Bugatti when I first seen it I didn’t really like it, my Walmart had several that day…then I regretted not getting it 6 months ago.. Luckily I found one the other day finally. Lesson learned.. I did the same thing 4 months ago with that skyline transport 3 car and a truck set.. my Walmart had 3 and I didn’t wana spend the 30$.. now there’s 60$+shipping on eBay and 90$ from a local seller.. Can’t find one now. If you spend several minutes debating to buy a car or not.. you should just buy it😅
Best is tough because there were a lot of good ones this year. I've narrowed it down to the Alfa and the Jeep J10, with the latter getting the nod because of all the ingenuity employed to make the color breaks. I really thought those were actual wheels in the back and not just interior pieces. Most disappointing for me is the BMW 507. I'm glad it exists but it seems a bit too small and it should've had headlight/taillight tampos since it is a solid color car.
Honestly the Volvo XC40 was a neat and interesting out of nowhere vehicle casting. Like nobody really expects Hot wheels to bring put a modified version of an everyday vehicle Also I say this every time THE FC HAS A HELLEPHANT ENGINE, IF YOU LOOK ON THE SIDE IT GIVES A HINT
Best one: the IMSA Audi 90 quattro, followed by the AMG 560 SEC. Worst one: the Supra. Bad proportions, useless body kit, one headlight up, it's just wrong. However, shout out to the Custom F-150 Lightning! It looks ridiculous, but cleverly made. When was the last time you saw a HW with headlights & taillights molded with the window part? It's quite neat.
The 72 Corvette is my favourite of the year with the Mercedes in a close second. Choosing a most disappointing one is very hard because i don’t think any of these are all that bad
2023 was a great year for HW mainlines in general, with an impressive assortment of new models. Best is easily the Mercedes 560 SEC for me, followed by the Alfa Romeo GTV6 and the '82 Toyota Supra. Most "dissapointing": Probably the Volvo P1800 Gasser, i don't hate it but it didn't do anything for me either. Thanks for making this vid.
My favorite is the Jeep J10! The detail and use of chrome and black plastics to create the level of detail and to have chrome rims in the bed are just AMAZING! I just found it the other week at the store. I haven't found the Jeep FC yet. That has a Hellcat supercharged hemi in the back, NOT an EV motor. WORST is the 68 Camaro "fantasy" car. I keep looking at it in the store, as I collect Camaros, but I just can't bring myself to buy it. It's just TOO ugly!
Love where HW is going, some quality castings and varieties in the automotive world and to boot basic colours and decals, tough to choose between the Alfa,Mercedes and Porche also worth mentioning is the BMW,Camaro and the Dodge and then the Fast & Furious new models aswell, awesome video and year for Hot Wheels, thankyou for the best and most disappointing awards
You are killing me by adding the Modified Camaro to the list of candidates. It just came out of the blue to become the most pleasant surprise of the year. Muscle car lovers know what I mean. That Bugatti Bolide will be one of my top 3 to choose from. Beautiful curves and over execution of the casting. The meanest looking Supercar of 2023. Did for me this year what the Pagani Zonda did in 2022. It's gonna be tuff to vote.
So many great choices this year! The Mercedes SEC was my #1. It seems like it was designed for premium, but got plastic wheels instead. The Alfa GTA and Porsche Carrera were definitely in the running. Most disappointing? The McLaren Solus, almost no detail, bland deco. The Volvo was in the running too.
RS2000 hands down, best Hot Wheels in a very long time for me - as a British guy who had various 70's/80's Fords at the start of my driving career, this is just fantastic. The P1800 is an extremely close second - I've seen the original car several times at Santa Pod and I'm so pleased it's been made into a Hot Wheels
I love that you love the 560. I could watch ministry of diecast and be done but i like that you have opinions. I'm not a Merc guy, I actually picked it up and returned it so someone else could enjoy.
Most Disappointing is easy this year. I love the original 82 celica supra but this new version is bunk. One head light up, slammed to the ground and the proportions are terrible. Such a disappointing execution. AW did a much nicer version and the 80's casting is still superior
Agreed, the fenders are comically large & could’ve been made a lot cleaner. If they released it in all white/black without the goofy wink it would easy be a top 3 new casting imo
Best stuff this year would have to be, that 94 tuned supra, the 76 Chevette, and the 70 tuned Dodge Challenger the worst anything, Batman related or Batmobile related, lol have a freaking awesome day
I have to agree with many others that Black Mercedes 560 SEC AMG is top mainline. But a strong second is Red Alfa Romeo ( love those T4 wheels) and the two Bugattis in 3rd and 4th place for me.
Top 5 in no particular order: Nevera, Supra, Jeep FC, Bolide, land cruiser. There are very few cars that I get and don't wanna fix something here or there, but I haven't touched these.
Love the new Bugatti Veyron, so much! Want to see it in proper two-tone, but the casting itself really shines! That gets my vote, just over the 560 SEC and Carrera RS. Most disappointing is between the Mazda RX-8 and Murcielago. Both look horrible, but I at least see what they were going for with the Mazda. The Lambo is just the old, squished casting but with LP-640 details and a wing. Just release a stock LP-640 as a fully retooled cast or use the amazing SV casting that has been seemingly abandoned aside from the multipack release from a few years ago.
Never seen a new mitsubishi ever so thats a must want. I lived in the gulf till i was 15 and remember many toyota land cruisers and nissan patrols desert safari. So since hotwheels made a nissan patrol i really want that🙏🙏
I have the RS2000 (white), Alfa GTV (white), 911 Carrera RS (orange), 560 SEC (silver), Corvette (blue) and BMW 507 (red). Apart from the BMW they are all superb especially the Porsche and SEC. As such a beautiful car the BMW casting deserves far more detail like painted lights, its very mediocre as it is.
i would say the yellow vw bus thingy or whatever its called lol....the best is the black mercedes shouldve had opening doors like the old mathcbox one did lol..
Wait, were those Fast & Furious models you showed at the end released in the US? I haven't seen them, wasn't aware of them, and when I look for them on eBay most of the sellers are overseas.

Hoping for either the Elite64 928 Safari or the Dirtmeister 944 to make up for it.
My best new casting vote will go to the '89 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG or the Alfa Romeo GTV6 3.0. I haven't decided yet which is tops. 3rd place goes to the '92 Dodge Viper RT/10. The models I'm most disappointed in are the Volvo P1800 Gasser. I would have absolutely loved a lightly tuned P1800, but won't touch this gasser abomination with a 10 foot pole. My second most disappointing model is the Nissan Patrol Custom for similar reasons. Though I'm not into SUVs as much as classically beautiful European coupes, I would still have been excited to have a more stock example of the Patrol. As is, I can't allow this turd to take up a valuable spot in my collection. 3rd most disappointing is the Volvo XC40 Recharge. I couldn't care less about electric SUVs, but I've always had an interest in Volvos; P1800, 480, T5R, V60 Polestar, to name a few. I could possibly get behind a more stock looking XC40, but not this atrocity. Literally no one on the planet (ok, maybe that one guy) will ever take their XC40 Recharge out for serious off-roading, so I don't see the point of all the off-road gear Hot Wheels added. The clincher was the complete lake of any detail around the headlights and grill. It's as though the designer just gave up. Which is what I've done as well.
I didn't even consider the Fast & Furious castings since those have not hit at retail yet. I will say I'm excited for the Lamborghini, Bugatti and Skyline and am most disappointed by the RX-8. While I understand the body kit and paint probably represent what was likely depicted in one of the movies, the result is an absolutely horrible looking car that is an insult to Mazda's design team. I truly hate both the ridiculous body kit and the awful paint job. And what is the deal with those headlight tampos? They look so cartoonish, with no realism to them at all.
Those look nothing like the 3-spoke wheels that came on the original [real] Viper. Those new 3-spoke wheels look horrific and need to be trashed! There is nothing they're going to look good on. Maybe on highly modified drift cars, which already look like trash, so it won't make a difference.
