That is a massive undertaking, kudos to you for attempting such a large job when you say you’re ‘just’ a mechanic. I call bullshit. 🐂💩 Your panel and metalwork from what I can see is outstanding. I’d be too scared that I wouldn’t be able to put it back together.
Haha the mechanic battle flashback is very relatable. Thanks for this series. I have an XC rally pack 351/4spd in tango orange. Previous owner cut out the tray floor and I haven't even got my head around the repairs yet.
Haha cheers mate. If you want I can send you a bunch of pictures that might show how it all connects and buts in, the tray honestly connects to every damned panel in the car somehow 🙃
Love these technical terms; the "tray doozie thingo". Imagine ringing up Rare spares and dropping them with that line for a replacement panel and praying that they know what it is that you're after. Good work though mate, She's coming along great.
Definitely could have been thinner, but I measured roughly where it might go, then added some to it when asking the metal shop to cut it as I can’t cut that length dead straight myself, it ended up a lot wider, but hey, looks good and after rego I might notch the chassis in 🤔😅
Cheers mate! And good question, I measured what width I thought they would be, then added extra incase I was off, I don’t have anything to sheer metal or cut it along a line so I had the metal shop do it, and when it turned out to be too deep, I ran with it because I don’t want to risk cutting a wonky line that would be the edge of the tub hah
Big job, great work very clever can't wait to see the end product wow
Love the struggle , mint
Awesome progress and fab work mate.
Great energy mate. Enjoyed the vid 🤙

Look, if I ask for a spidgey widgey, ya better know I mean a 1/2” breaker bar 😂😂
Here it's called the "I'm done asking nicely"
Was making the tub that wide for looks? Or are you cutting the rails out for wheel clearance?

👍🏻🍺👏
Like the idea but why did you make your tubs go to the inside of the frame cheers
