smart buy, marketplace should have those tubs and front end VERY cheap! As everyone removes them for trays and bullbars!

Given you're in WA, can I assume that extra large manhole is the work of Total Attic Storage? I reckon the next step should be a nice "Well trimmed and professional looking" hole in the roof with a 240v motor in the roof cavity and a small winch/pulley system to lift shit up. Ring the places that fit rear trays. They have guys come in and buy all of their tubs. Over here on the Gold Coast I met a guy when I worked in a smash repairs, he dropped off a replacement tray for a Ford Ranger (older model) and he was with the guy that gets the tubs from most of the tray fitting across the Gold Coast (we have lots of manufacturers here for rear trays for some odd reason?) Anyway he said to me "if you ever need a tub I've got over 5000 rear tubs and I only stock the latest 2 or 3 models in common utes like Ranger but have more rare tubs as well which we have very limited stock' So i would imagine there is an equivalent to this bloke over in WA. Try the tray fitting places and I'll get you get one faster than wreckers or eBay

I’m in WA & live in Morley. I drive past Macinerney Ford in Walter road Morley on a rat run & there’s a yard behind Macinerney Ford full of Ranger tubs of all colours and configurations, where they swap tubs off new Rangers and install flat trays for new buyers. Call in and ask them & bring your tray back because they will have whatever you want. Hope that helps out. Helped build a XA Ute 302 top loader Ute when I was a kid about 40+ years ago, & also rebuilt a 75 XB sedan with a worked 351, as well, then owned a 75 XB wagon 302 top loader for a fair while. Know just about every nut & bolt backwards in my sleep. The XA Ute laid rubber all over Perth, so light in the back end it was a full time job keeping it pointed straight ahead and on the road. Fun to drive tho - for us young bucks back then in the early 80’s. Still wish I’d kept the XB shaggin wagon.😜😂😂😉

In the same boat, doing everything from home bit by bit and so far with everything going on around me aswell, it's taken me almost 3 years on body work and I still haven't finished, but I'm almost at the stage of laying down my first coat of high build primer, so it's getting close I guess. The fun of rust repairs and changing alot to make the car look like how you want it instead of everyone telling you to "keep it stock".

I am planning to use the Painless wiring harness on my XR build as well. What did you use for all the connectors to headlights etc, I assume you cut all the original connectors off and used something like Deutsch connectors? Or are you trying to keep all the original plugs? Sorry if I missed if you mentioned it already. Cheers

Great work, could have been alot worse and put in a holden v6 or a chev small block. Although the Barra is a great engine, it's sorta been done to death now.
