One essence thing you need to try is the pure nude highlighter use it on its own it’s beautiful but just mix in a tiny bit of loose powder on the brush then go into the highlighter and you got a great dupe for the hourglass ambient powders, mix this highlight with any bronzer or blush and you get a dupe for hourglass blushes and bronzers and they recently released the pure nude blushes in 8 shades which is basically a dupe for the hourglass ambient blushes I never buy multiple shades this quickly but I have bought 4 over the past month

I've never been to an Ulta that didn't have rows dedicated to drugstore brands as well as prestige brands. Their coupons normally work on drugstore brands, too, it's great!

Ikr 💀 Why do you even need 5 almost identical shades?? they have absolutely nothing for people with darker complexion (except for their orange tan shade which is supposed to be their darkest 🥴) and all the light shades have the same orange/yellow undertone, I have light skin but with a pink hue so I've ultimately given up on Essence concealers and foundations, plus I refuse to further buy complexion products from brands which aren't inclusive, I'll still get the other products cuz a bitch be broke but I'm not gonna buy their foundation instilling them in the belief that what they're currently serving in that sector is good
Like Essence is on such a good way if they started selling products for darker skin tones they'd make a lot more money
I mean in general all brands should be inclusive ffs it's 2023 but Essence being the most affordable drugstore brand I know of, it's only fair people of all skin colors and undertones can access makeup at an affordable price
I never saw the problem since except for the concealer being too yellow for me the shades were usually a match, but social media really woke me up to the discrimination of almost all make up brands
People make the excuse that they’re a German company but there are plenty of people in Germany with dark skin

Fr. Essence seriously sucks at the shade range. It’s neither dark nor light enough for most people and they only have warm and neutral undertones 🙄 I’ve honestly given up on most drugstore brands have a decent range

Tried and Still using the hydro primer and I absolutely love it! It's 100% hydrating and not some sort of scam, which is smth I'm very happy about because the hydrating primers from a lot of other (affordable) brands were mostly sold out no matter where I went lmao
Gotta love Essence. They have a lip plumper gloss that is so pretty. They are the What the Fake Lip plumper with hyaluronic acid and chili pepper spice for $5

Yeah they really suck in shade range, even for lighter complexions they're all yellow/orange based and I have a pretty pink-ish hue to my skin so it's hard to find a match for me as well, but at least I could mix the concealer with some pink to get the undertone right, the dark shades are really a joke and only warm tones
If Essence focused on making less light shades and actual different undertones instead of just having the medium almost the same as the lightest shade💀 They could focus on having like idk 15 shades to have light, medium, tan and dark and then each of them with a warm, neutral and cool undertone because the differences between the lighter shades is so fucking minimal there's no point for them being all individual shades 💀
They do make great and affordable lipsticks and lipglosses that have a gorgeous color range (they used to be all pale pink and light nude but now you can get gorgeous brown and pink, even purple galaxy-ish shades also their formula is amazing and hydrating not sticky), they could work on being more exclusive, I mean they probably make good money as is so they figure why change a running system, but I imagine their sales would heavily increase if they were brown/black girl friendly

@@BrooklynDelilahbruh there are not only a bunch of black and brown Europeans but there are also a bunch of pale people as well. And their shade range goes from dark cream to orange. Almost the entire global population wouldn’t be able to find their shade.

I got the cream blush stick it's very pigmented and blends good
I tried the essence powder and it worked really good along with the cranberry lip tint.

The brow gel is amazing. So far it has been the only affordable product of this type that keeps my brows in place all day. I heard some people say it makes their brows go white but as long as I don’t have tons of powder on my brows, I don’t get any white flakes.

those cream blushes, cute little eyeshadow palettes and brow gel are amazing!! haven’t heard great things about that foundation and concealer tho.

I tried 2 brow gels recently, Too Faced Fluff & Hold Laminating Brow wax & The Brow Glue by NYX & I was very surprised by BOTH. I apply then hold the brow in place w/my little spatula thingy from ELF. I’m still testing to see which holds better/longer & which formula I prefer but they’re both pretty good so far.

Before any one shits on their shade range please remember they are a extremely affordable company for a reason,they aren’t capable of putting out all the shades that other brands do, and since they are based in Germany they put out shades that better match the population there,tho they have stated they do plan to extend their ranges soon
Yep i gotta agree. I mean it's definitely gotten better actually i live in Germany and their darkest shade years ago was still lighter than me (I'm mixed for context) 😂
They do make good money for being so affordable though but since the German and american population differ in representation of different skin colours i still cut them some slack. At least the fit me foundations pick up the slack at a good price
I mean if your expanding to the western (mainly American) market it would be best to expand your shade range a bit. The market is quite competitive and people might dogpile a brand for a “lack of inclusivity”. But then again, there are plenty of other brands that have a wider shade range so it’s not that deep🤷🏽♀️

nah there is no reason to be all white/medium shades and not one single black shade😭 that was a conscious choice

I just tried the new essence foundation+concealer and it's got a good formula especially for the price (this is the first time a foundation has worked for me and I didn't even have to mix it with anything) but it seems like they focused all their energy on paler skin tones. I did appreciate having a shade that fit my super pale but olive undertoned skin but their darker shades seem predominantly orangey or red and don't have nearly as much range :( here's hoping they start adding more shades cause I want everyone to have the $10 makeup miracle experience I did

I do have the brow gel and someone who has really thick eyebrows and has gone thro a lot of different eye brow gel essence is my favorite it is the best it has strong hold it only flaks up if you rub your eye brow really hard but other wise 10/10

I have the fix it brow gel and its pretty good- it doesnt separate the brow hairs as good as the nyx brow glue for example tho. Also, it smells kinda strange- so kind of recommend because it’s so affordable. But rather spend a little more money on a better one

I agree with the shade range but under those lights all of them loin the same but once u see the swatch out of the bottle it’s pretty good
i use the brow gel and it works well but after a few hours it does start to peel off … 😬 ive been using it for months so really honest review
love their foundation!! i use it every day and its the only foundation ive ever used that matches my skin perfectly! i am a pale skin colour though.
not a huge fan of the concealer shown because i just dont think it really conceals that much but i prefer the more high coverage concealers because i want to CONCEAL. essence have a camouflage concealer too though which is super good and high coverage so you only need the tiniest dot.
they actually have alot of great makeup and its super cheap!

its a german brand that's why the shade range is smaller. also the concelears are very important for all the different skin undertones, they re not the same. essence is great for being so cheap.

They did drop I think 4 new darker shades. But.... one is basically only going to match Donald trumps skin and I'm not holding my breath for the others. The darkest shade looks like it'll be matching for some darker skin people but not the most dark skinned people
