I remember eating this snack a lot (in Nigerian) when I was growing. A beautiful memory. Africans are so blessed with exciting recipes! You are the best sister, Fafa! Thank you for sharing.
Oh really? Nigerians do absolutely enjoy it. In Ibo speaking part of Nigeria where I came from it is called "akara jiakwu" translated as "akara cassava."@@NdudubyFafa
I like the green onion infusion, makes it looks like times Square on new years eve , splendid, oh how about some garlic . I will try that and make u know
Oh, I think this is what I've been looking for! There are a lot of cassava recipes for various cakes and puddings, and in the end the cassava is a minor ingredient, it's all milk and eggs and sugar. I wanted something more like a potato pancake. Cassava is growing in my yard, so it's an issue! There's a Columbian breakfast thing that's like this, very hard and dense crust, and chewy on the inside. Pan de Yuca? It's good! I think this is the original. This is simple and I don't think I would get tired of it.
Hi aunty, just found you when I was craving for "Agba kaklo" 😭(this is how we call it 🇨🇮 in Côte divoire/Ivory Coast). Plus I saw that your Ghanaian, #neigbourhood❤️#family______ I'm ivoiro-ghanaian (🇨🇮🇬🇭) Your video is really nice
Thanks for sharing this with us. Could you also show us how to make Bolou, Prawn the one they sell on the streets in Togo. I think it is grilled and has very nice taste maybe red palm oil in it.
Old time Street food , I remembered when Jelly John Rawrins came to power to removed the northern president Leman is different to get a food buy so only cassava is a common food and easy to find and buy so they make cassva in difference ways of food.
Hello Beautiful, thank you so much for this video you have taken me back to my childhood favourite snacks.. please can you let me know where you got your rose gold knife and forks from🍴😍
In Cameroon it's called banana akara. Mashed ripe banana(not too much) is added to the casava, then formed into balls and fried. It's just sweeter and more filling and eaten with pepper sauce. You'll love it 😜😋
It's a new low-cal world. At least she isn't trying to be low-carb! I think some people around here would call this "gluten free"? I don't think there's gluten in cassava.
Fafa please send me some of that ayigbe chewing gum and some roasted groundnut dont forget to add 3 sachets of pure water and i will forget where ever the tro tro is taking me to laugh
#KeepingItReal TFS it looks appetizing and the recipe is fantastic however I've never heard it being called "BANKYE KAKRO" before by any tribe. I may sound petty but I feel as if the Twi translation was unnecessary and took away from the recipe's origins. I know you use your platform to promote the Ewe language which I admire a lot but I also think there's always a dose of "Twi-overreach" which overshadows our other tribal languages. This snack originated from the #VoltaRegion and was frowned upon/jeered at by the Twis and Gas, just like the "AyigbeBiskit", so can we just call it by the name every tribe has come to accept due to the origin of the recipe, please. #AGBELI KAKLO- 'Ewe' dialect... (Cassava Croquettes) Thank you.
I do understand how you feel, however this channel is beyond tribalism and division. The languages I speak are a reflection of my inclusive upbringing and I hope you understand my point 😘😘
You're mistaken my dear. Born and raised in Accra I've heard this lovely snack called by both. Some know it by agbeli others know it as bankyi which is the same in translation. I think Fafa did a good job in adding both names to her title
Great job girl is good.
Ei something lefe, agbeli kaakro lefe. Thanks Fafa. I will try this recipe

I think it's yake yaka. Love that. Steamed grated cassava.
Where I am there is no fresh cassava can I use frozen cassava
Yes you can, however ensure you extract the moisture from it to prevent it from disintegrating😘😘
Can the balls be stored in fridge a day before frying?
That looks too good! Does soaking it overnight help to remove the bitterness? I am trialing out mine but it tastes a little bitter after cooking.
Yes, and even frying it with coconut oil nflate it above hypotenuse of all angles
Can I use cassava dough bought from the market?
No as it’s fermented. ❤️❤️
