Becky, I am an old lady that doesn’t get around a lot. I love watching you cook and garden like I used to be able to do. Thank you for including me while I watch you work!!
I like you am an old lady that used to have a garden every year and did all the preserving I could, I enjoy watching Becky so I remember my young years.
I am so happy to be able to watch you work. I don't usually comment but I was really ill last year in a coma and loved watching you whilst in hospital. I'm getting better slowly and want to start making some of the bread and cakes that you make. So thank you for being you, and helping me on my healing journey.
I have autism and adhd and sometimes getting tasks done around the house can be incredibly difficult. I put a few of your past videos on to work with you, so to speak! Then you posted a new one! I feel like I've spent the day being productive with you! ❤
Omg, me too! I keep on putting things off because of one excuse or another and then I'll see Becky do it and suddenly, seeing how easy it is to do the task makes it so much more manageable!
When you walked down to the garden and I saw all that beautiful fog ❤ I LOVE that kind of morning. To me it makes all the colors really pop...especially green 😊 Your cherry tomatoes are beautiful. I eat those like candy!
Becky, I bought a home on 20 acres down in Georgia this year. I am so excited to have enough space for a big garden, kitchen, and food storage area like yours. I’ve built gardens at all of my rental homes so far as practice. I’m 33 years old and I dream of gardening, sewing, and cooking at my home like you do. I love watching your home dreams come true over the years on this channel.
I love the fog! I'm an old lady too! Will be 75yrs at the end of Dec. I love watching you in your garden. I do have pots, flowers, cilantro, basil, & parsley. One big tomato plant & one cherry tomato plant. I've got a few off of the cherry tomato plant. But there's only a couple of big tomatoes on the big plant & not ripping yet! I have put some fertilizer in the soi. It helps a little. I think I just need to get all new compost next year. I did put some in all the plants this year & it's just not enough. The herbs I kept in their planter from the garden shop. They're doing better than the others. If anyone has any suggestions, please tell me! I'm slow & can't get around too good. All my pots are on my back porch. It's easier for me to water etc! Thanks so much Becky you help a lot of people for sure. You're a treasure, I'm also! Thanks so much for sharing! ♥️☺️🫂🦋🦉🐾🍅📓✏️🍄🌹✨️
Becky, a little unsolicited tip for picking. When we go blueberry picking around here at locally owned patches, they give us a large can that has rope tied to it and has a little foam to cushion the neck and we have two hands to pick with. I bet you could do that with your colander handles.
Becky I take my cherry tomatoes and whole garlic and roast them on a cookie sheet in the oven and then freeze them for the winter so I can make pasta and tomatoes:) its so yummy.
Your Garlic braid is beautiful. I have one but no flowers. Its old and was only for decoration. I am growing garlic this year. I will consider doing this.
So my husband grew up in Myrtle Point, OR and as a very young couple we lived there for a few years. We now have lived in GA for many years. That amazing morning mist just took he and I back! You have such a beautiful home and garden.❤
Myrtle Point? That sounds familiar. Coast? I've lived in Oregon all my life. My mom was born and raised 20 minutes in land from Seaside. She went to school in Jewell. There's family in Coos Bay. The PNW is beautiful.
@@indecisivegardener Yes! Quite close, we would go to Coos Bay for our "big" shopping! Such a beautiful state. I grew up in IL, near the IA border. My dad is a grain farmer, I miss the midwest sometimes too!
For your dahlia’s, those all came from a mother plant named “floret” and the “petit” is meant to mean that they are daughters of floret, the second gen hybrid. It’s doesn’t mean they are small. If you look at Erin’s videos on this variety you can see the size they should be. I’d contact her and see if her team can advise you for growing them next year so you can get bigger blooms.
I love sleeping while I watch your videos. Your videos really calm my anxiety levels. I always wished for a house with garden, I can’t afford a house at the moment but watching your videos makes me feel as of it is my home and my garden. ❤ I have a small herb garden at the place where I am renting. The herbs are in pots but I feel good for my small pots filled with some herbs. Love from India
Happy Wednesday, Becky & y'all! I have been in the kitchen all day & it's time to take a break & watch Acre Homestead! Enjoy your day, beautiful people!! 🦋
My favorite time to harvest most things is in the morning! Well, it's my favorite time to do anything that involves the garden! I've had to take 2 years off due to health and my foot (long story), but I'm hoping and praying that 2025 is my year to get back out there! Thank you, Becky, for helping me get through all this. Your videos have helped me get me out there through you!
The more I watch your videos the more I think of my mom. She LOVED gardening and canning you remind me sooo much of her (she's been gone since 2018) right down to how you like your coffee lol she too had very expressionate eyes. Thank you for making these videos.
Hi Becky, I have been following you for a while. I just want to say that my daughter and I love watching your videos. My daughter loves catching a glimpse of your dogs :) Your videos make us so happy. Many warm greetings from Germany!
Wonderful video, as are all of yours! Your volunteer sunflower was so adorable at the beginning, it was almost as if he was saying “good morning, welcome to the garden”😊
I can't wait until my blueberry bushes get bigger and produce more. I have 14 bushes of different varieties. Yours are beautiful I remember u had some closer to your house along with these from the previous owner.
Hi Becky! Just a suggestion about those green cherry tomatoes, they can be harvested at this stage and pickled with sea salt, white vinegar, (sugar can be added if you want some sweetness) olive oil and garlic, they are delicious. Just a way to cut down the harvest of the red ones 🥰 😍
Becky you can make a tincture with your feverfew to take to soothe fevers ,headaches and is especially good for migraines . You can also dry some for tea.
In the store, they are called Harvest Snap Peas. The flavors are, ranch, tomato basil, Caesar, white cheddar and wasabi. (And, salt, of course) so many yummy flavors! YUM
Becky because of you I tried my had at making homemade bread . Turned out good for a first timer . My husband loved it . When my granddaughters came in from school let me tell you it was gone, makes a great grilled cheese sandwich! Your video with the fog and your garden could be a great photo. God bless you young lady and your sweet family.
Great day harvesting with you. I pulled out my pole beans and can do another planting of bush beans. Started fall crops. Still have 70 days til first frost
I jumped when you dropped the blueberries. Then, I almost cried! I need to learn more about utilizing plants as light be compost. Can tomato plants be used in that way? I made Renee’s Chicken Pot Pie for my hubs. He asked me to put that into the monthly rotation! He ate an entire 9” pie in 2 nights! Thanks, Renee!
I live in New Mexico, and We Love Our Green and Red Chile. I roasted my first Med-hot Hatch Green Chile yesterday. I had to make some fresh flour tortillas to eat along with some freshly roasted and peeled chile which I seasoned with some fresh garlic and a bit of Himalayan pink salt. 🤤
I didn’t look through all the comments, but the daisy like flower you harvest is definitely chamomile! It’s a wonderful herb and makes a nice relaxing tea to drink before bed. I love it with a little peppermint in it and if you’ve had a fairly stressful day, I throw in a bit of lemon balm too. I prefer using herbs instead of meds….I’m growing as many as I can! I love your videos! I always learn something new from you! Thank you my friend!❤❤❤
Becky, your garden is so beautiful! The information you share with us is amazing! Today is preservations day here, two kinds of turnips, carrot pickles, green bean pickles, beet pickles and Swiss chard . And a lot more to come in. Thank you for sharing. Btw, you are very photogenic, the camera loves you!❤
I love to watch you gardening in the fog. I have heard of this phenomena .. fog. But at 7,000 feet in Arizona we so very rarely get any. I totally understand your frustration with the cucumbers. Mine all got sunburned and died. Getting started on a fall garden with peas, rutabagas, butternut squash, cilantro and radishes. Your garden is looking lovely! I would love to grow some potatoes but .. they attract the javelina and I try hard to avoid that.
I live in BC, Canada, and we have had the same bad luck with cucumbers this year! We've planted DOZENS of seeds, and so far we've only gotten a single cucumber, too
Hello fellow Canadian 😊 I did not know, but there are ways to trim cucumber plants. I've watched YT videos on how to trim them. If you pick some the cucumbers when they are small, you will force your plant to produce more. Also, do not let them get yellow or the plant will start dying back and will not want to produce.
Becky, I just made a homemade pico de-gallo using garden fresh cucumbers, onions ,tomato, jalapeno and cilantro if you want a different way making pico. The cucumbers made even more fresh tasting and I got a lot of compliments on it.
I saw somewhere that you can put a bowl in your gathering apron to pick raspberries and blueberries. That way you don’t have to hold the bowl to pick them up
Beautiful, so beautiful. Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you. I get so much joy watching all the things you do. Say hi to mom and dad! ❤
Thanks for bee update. Love all your videos. The work you put in filming and editing makes it all the more amazing the amount of things you get done! I'm waiting for your tomatoes too. Have a great week.
A delicious way to cook up sugar snap peas is to stir fry them with some of those tiny peppers on a relatively high temp (we love using coconut or avocado oil), adding fish sauce (salt & adds a fabulous umami flavor) and then right at the end drizzling toasted sesame oil over them for even more flavor. It tastes crunchy and delicious alone, with rice, with chicken/fish/beef, etc. It's one of our favorite summer veggies.
