To fix _some_ of the jank at node joins... use Traffic to stop u-turns. You can also customise the medians and shoulders too... so you can add grass directly in the mod rather than the extended road functions. TDW is bonkers level though... the Thumbnails Project was only possible by him creating a better background remover (in two weeks) than Photoshop has! Bonkers.
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG I've mentioned the jank at the node junctions to him... the way he works, well, he may have already re-coded it! CO should genuinely offer him work though for sure.
Incredible! Now we need the team to fix it so Assets can be added to the game easily. The ability for the community to add unique buildings, businesses, malls, Branded business buildings, boats, etc. This is what is left to bring back the community in large numbers. MHO
Lots of credit should go to the devs of the base game as well. The mod does a lot it - stores road configurations, and allows a user to customise them, but the hard lifting with the new amazing road system has already been done in the base game. That why a mod like this woud have been impossible for CS1, and in CS2 we can modify road layout on the fly.
I already plan to revamp my whole city using this mod - however I hope TDW will also at some point include the one lane, two way tram network which is used on depots. Also, maybe, down the road (pun intended) we'll also get new and combined lane types like combinations of train/metro to be used here (which would be even more insane!)
When you upgrade a road and it doesn’t snap to the middle, you don’t need to turn off snap to geometry, just snap to cell length, so you don’t have to eyeball it. Hope it helps!
THIS is why CS2 captured my imagination at launch. THIS is the potential of CS2, finally being followed through. This is why I knew CS2 would eventually supersede CS1. Its just unfortunate it took a year post-release to get the base game's simulation playable, moddable, and detailer friendly
There is still a lot more that needs to be done.I feel we are still 1-2 years away from peak playability, especially when it comes to the potential assets that the game needs. Cs1 set the bar high with different variations of homes and buildings, that this game so desperately needs
These kind of mods show the incredible potential of this game. About a year available, but these kind of things are so awesome. If we also get more assets, it will be perfect.
07:50 will be good when they (CO) get emergency vehicles to use all the lanes properly. also: Bollards! I wanna be able to put in bollards to separate car lanes from sidewalks, and for bikelanes when they show up.
11:00 we should be paying him! Via him being hired (permanently or as a contractor) by CO. This mod needs polishing, yes, but even more so it needs to be part of the vanilla game.
The super-node hack is so powerful, but I can foresee that this mod will create some utterly insane but functional interaction options. Protected lanes? Waiting area for public transport? I think it will be possible to spend untold hours playing with the roads just to see if you can make something that works even better. ❤
I've been thinking of systems like this for years. Absolutely amazing to see someone implement it in reality with this level of attention to details, truly a great and splendid work!
This is one of the big mods I've been waiting and hoping for. It'll finally allow me to recreate my home city. Now if only stop signs didn't apply to all corners of an intersection because then it'll be a perfect recreation of my home city.
That is a true game changer!! It's unbelievable!! Especially for you or players like you who love to do infrastructure and truly different roads. It's great! 🤩
When doing private bus lanes, don't forget to remove the ability for cars to park on the side of the road. In the game they won't, but because the parking lane exists, if you were to put in a bus stop, you get the bus pocket instead of the bus just stopping. Now on a really busy street where multiple routes go through and only one stops, it might be advantageous to leave the pocket in so the stopping bus can pull out of the way and let everyone else continue, but in most cases, this simply isn't necessary, so the parking lane should be removed.
I’m late in commenting but this mod will make my ideal city possible - for example, true bus rapid transit routes with their own right-of-way in the median, or true boulevards that can be made without making parallel roads! If he’s taking donations, he’s getting some cash!
I hope they add this to the base game like what they did with the tree brush. The saddest part of CS is that console players are much more limited than PC
Hi Egg - can you work with pedestrian roads too - like for example, making the pedestrian roads narrower? Whatever, looks great and I note there is a space in the tool for bikes, when they become available, so we can hopefully work with bike lanes too :)
Egg! I've been following you for a long time and I love this! I make maps and I would love it if you checked out my latest map Confluence Mesa for your next map showcase!
are there more options for median width? in the video it looks like it's either 1m, 2m or 5m which is one of my pet peeves with the base game, the 2m median is too narrow (less than a lane) and the wide one is way too wide.
My guess is the mod just takes existing road elements from the base game and puts them together in a custom configuration. So if the base game only has 1m, 2m and 5m median options, then the mod will have to. I would also guess that we will be able to get new road assets which might integrate into the mod.
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG yeah. It’s just strange what literally everyone forgot it existed. Every video about the road builder never said anything about the cs1 road builder.
Point of note, the devs spent significant time creating the ability for CS2 to even be moddable like this in the first place. Modders can't do anything if the Devs don't include the ability to do it. CS1 cannot use this mod for a reason. CS2 can because the game was designed and coded to allow it.

you should be able to delete the stop signs with "better bulldozer mod", set it to "sub item" and voila :)
@@ozzzzy52 Oh, that's pretty neat actually. Thankfully the Traffic mod updated which allows you to set priority signs to any side you want.
I want to play C:S II so bad because of this specific mod
This mod is essentially the entire game now
Now you can add pavements to the side of rail tracks, you can build custom train stations. Maybe even custom cargo stations?
The next thing we need now is the same modularity for intersections and roundabouts and alleys etc, so we can choose priority lane etc.
This powerful tool should added to the console versions when they finally get released. It would be a shame if the console versions didn’t get it.

So the key question, can you design a 4 lane road that is the same width as the small roads?
Can you make a highway with true high speed rail in the middle? Or a high speed rail elevated through a city?
You can
Mega train, subway, tram joint bridge? Like some of the bridges just north of Umeda Sky building in Osaka?

Ok, I keep seeing content creator mention this mod but damed if I can find it in the mods list. Even when I type in just TDW, it dosn't show up.
