    In the past, Korean women did hardly cut their hair. So it was possible to make these hair styles. If the hair wasn't enough, Korean women used Gache, Korean traditional wig. ^0^
    Thanks for watching~ XD

      @romella_karmey 6 лет назад +1

      Why do in ancient Korea, women would have to wear wig specially the big ones? I don't think it looks comfortable for them.

      Really a work of art. 👏

    • @MeowCockadoodledoo
      @MeowCockadoodledoo 2 года назад +1

      @@romella_karmey well, beauty definition is different in different era. And since it was considered disrespectful for them to cut their hair, I guess they would have to be creative on how to handle such a long hair. So they did all sorts of designs and ways to set it. Of course it doesnt look comfy for us (and probably for them too), but again, they would wanna make a statement of the hair fashion of their time but at the same time, dont want to be disrespectful to their culture.

    No wonder noble women needed like 10 servants to get them dressed every morning.

    I am not Korean, but I absolutely LOVE the Korean culture. From Gogureyo until Current Korea (North and South). I read so much about them. It is so rich and everything about its culture has deep thought connected to it. From their writing to the food, and everything in between. The people are so strong even the Chinese couldn't completely control them. I could go on and on. But I always wondered how the women got the hair pieces for their hairstyles. Did the poor sell their hair? Was it horse hair (I doubt it). I can't find any writing about this. Anyway, Korean women, I think, are the most beautiful women in the world and I am obsessed with their past fashions, hair, and makeup. Great video!

    • @kjkj927
      @kjkj927  7 лет назад +27

      Pdx Paula Love your comment! 😍 I agree with all you said. And about the hair, yes poor women often sold their hair. Gache (traditional wig) was made with real hair, so it was extremely expensive... like one big gache was as expensive as a few houses.

    Yes, you're right.
    And because the models have only short hair, they had to wear Gache I think.
    In the Joseon Dynasty, however, Korean women did hardly cut their hair in their lifetime. ^0^
    So they could have a long and elegant hairstyle.

      Because in Korea, my body was a gift from my parents. So It was most important to keep it precious. So, they didnt even cut their hair. It was also related to Confucianism :) FYI, in the past, if their parents is dead, they had to stay and live around the tomb for 3 years. It was their convention and duty.

    • @yoonmikim5663
      @yoonmikim5663 7 лет назад +1

      +kjkj927 There were records, but it's not included. There are painted pictures from Goryeo. The only Queen portrait drawn by a King was done during Goryeo. And United Shilla also has cave paintings, etc.

    • @kjkj927
      @kjkj927  7 лет назад

      Yoonmi Kim I understand what you mean. Gorye people's hairstyles are known to some extent thanks to buddhist paintings... but for some reason, Korea Culturecontents didn't make any for Goryeo. (Maybe I guess they couldn't decide on some representative Goryeo hairstyles among the various ones?) And about Unified Shilla, well... I never heard of any paintings from that age... the only thing I know is that Unified Shilla was heavily influenced by Chinese Tang culture, and that's why drama characters of Unified Shilla period wear a wide variety of hairstyles (there aren't any representative styles like Goguryeo's Hwangyesik Meori)

    "chosen" is the old country name of 🇰🇷 Korea. The etymology of "CHOSEN" means a child of the sky, brought to Earth by a bird when a new moon (mother) gives birth to the light (child) of the sun (father).
    Korean Hanbok is a traditional costume worn by the child(khan,han,🤴)of the sky when they perform rituals to the sun and the moon.
    Please Note^^
    Shangdynasty = dangun chosen
    商朝 天干 = 朝鮮 檀君
    History was distorted and divided, and when under colonial rule in the 1800s, they learned colonial history.
    Currently, Koreans have fled (moved) the dynasty to the Korean peninsula where the Russian embassy was located in the 1800s with Emperor Gojong. Korean means continental nobility.
    Modern Joseon(chosen ) and Ming(明) Dynasty are the same thing.
