@Melanistic Serval No it doesn't. Only impeachment can do that. The 25th Amendment is just for declaring the President mentally or physically incapable of executing his duties at that moment. And it isn't indefinite. Impeachment is the only way to permanently bar him from running for re-election. And while the current Senate may not go along with that, there is no prohibition against impeaching a FORMER President. After Jan 20th the new Democratically controlled Congress could impeach former President Trump. The removal from office part of the punishment would be moot, but the other punishment they could inflict is a lifetime ban from ever holding public office.

Good news, i heard an expert on CNN mention Trump won't be allowed to pardon himself. Nobody is above the law, not even the President. The expert also said that "not all crimes can be pardoned." Implying attacking the government is a crime that can't be pardoned.
