If you do a weight mod or another tear down I recommend doing it on the white one. The white is always so much easier for us to see what's going on in the inside, it's also easier to work on.
Noticed, the white though is heavier than the black :-(..... prob need to adjust the ISO so the black is more visible but thanks for the feedback.
@@Beardedbob No problem. Looks like there is a lot more white Vipers around, so a weight mod on the white might be the better choice in that regard as well. Did you only purchase black Vipers?
nvm missed the white one in the video. Clicked directly to the tear down.
@@lukewheeler2361Respectfully, I couldn't disagree more on all 3 of those points.
the extra plate and battery placement is to balance the mouse around the sensor.
i have come back to this video so many times since i bought this mouse. thank you for this
I've got a black V2 in my hand rn. Also used the GPX. One thing is I wish they hadn't used Piano black plastic on it. Makes it look cheap and it's a fingerprint magnet that gets scratched
thanks boss, Im kinda surprised about that honeycomb part. Stock skates are great on these btw.
yeah always some secrets hidden that we will fine.... Razer are doing a better job with their skates compared to Logitech
With the size of that PCB I wonder if that means they could use the same if not similar on a Viper Mini 4k?
Tnx man. How difficult do you think it would be to get these internals, including the side buttons, into a different shell altogether...like let's say a x2 mini?
Great work as usual Bob 👊
Thanks man 👊
Thanks my guy, can't wait to tear mine apart as soon as it arrives!
Let us know on discord how you get on.
How do you put the switches onto the butons for the side buttons? They keep getting stuck
@Beardedbob, is the top shell of viper ultimate and viper v2 pro interchangeable? Would they fit?
May I ask what tool you used to remove the label?
can you tell if the scroll rubber is the same as the g pro? I would like to change the color but I don't have the measurements in mm to buy another rubber ring.
what is that little foam/sponge that is in inside? what does it supposed to do? no harm for taking them off?
My Viper Ultimate have a terrible mouse1 and mouse2 button squeaking problem. And seem like its the same for a ton of other people too. I wonder if this new one have the same problem...
After viper mini i would've thought they would start putting screws not under the feet for mod-ability without damaging the skates, but guess not.
It's for warranty reasons
is the white V2 Pro's shell painted? I have a white RVU and due to my acidic sweat, it's started to chip off, showing the grey plastic underneath the shell.
Kind people, please tell me exactly which switches are on the side buttons of the mouse. What is the letter D?
What do I do since my 2 screws towards the top are stuck?
Got wobble on left click. Noticable while spraying in cs. Do you know how i can fix it?
voce sabe se existe a possibilidade de por um scroll maior, deixando mais alto tipo gpro x? nao gosto de scroll rebaixado
Please tell me, what kind of sensor is there? Pixart?
Are the side buttons mechanical switches also?
What kind of screws does the v2 pro have?
Hi @Beardedbob ive been see all of your lightweight mouse project, can you do lightweight project on pantera pro wireless mouse please ? It is because my mouse is the same manfucature product with pantera but the problem is, it has a good shape of gpx superlight or ninjutso but its weight is little bit not pleasant to hold tho 🤣🤣, if you can modify that mouse ill be happy but if dont it's okay i love all your content :D
@beardedbob is it normal for the PCB to seemingly move when plugging in or unplugging the cable? I can feel the board moving and can see the sensor moving through the bottom of the mouse. Not a major movement obviously, but it's there. Used to see this on my GPW too. Do I need to RMA it?
No the pcb is loose inside and probably needs screwing tighter. I would rma
Prob do micro for the weight Bob, but idk. Does the wheel encoder bother you. Just seems cheap for to rough for some reason.
Seems ok, didn’t bother me
Do you think you can solder a less tall scroll wheel encoder in there so the scrollwheel sits lower, or would that automatically interfere with the ucb-c port?
Im planning to put a 11mm ALPS Mouse Scroll Wheel Encoder on my V2 pro. Would this work?
@@doomed_to_fail technically it should work, but I cant tell you 100% because I just kept the old encoder
is it possible hot swap these with kalih 8.0?
no mentioning on the screw type and size?
how many mm battery plug ?
Can you tell which tool you are using to remove the feet and label not the solvent
Zippo lighter fluid - ruclips.net/video/Ez4lh-xE7ZY/видео.html
hey I was wondering since the rubber for the scroll wheel is thinner, if I wanted to replace it should I get a ring size 8 or 9?
Would need to try both, imo the tighter the ring the better

best way to reduce weight...
...drop peices on the floor..lol😆
good stuff Bob.
btw...apologies if i just didn't make it that far into the video yet, but what exactly is the difference in the first Viper razer released vs the Viper pro v2???
only way to remove weight...
to much to list, this new one is more like a Viper mini build scaled up.
@@Beardedbob i see...well that absolutely sucks...i love having the side buttons on both sides...i enjoyed the viper mini very much, but it didn't have the both sets of the side buttons, so i just went to the viper 8k, even though it didn't fit my hand anywhere as well, i adapted...so now they take the buttons off THIS one now....wtf Razer...they are really starting to piss me off...
btw...i hope you got that i was just playing around with the "dropping on the ground" comment. you know i love what you do. 💯
gotta question for ya...i thought i heard you mention that you take orders for modding/trimming weight for mice for ppl. did i get that wrong?
cause if not i had a possible request i may be interested in commissioning your particular expert services on...
if i laid out a plan for some custom modifications for a mouse...(i would be willing to purchase the mouse/mice and or hardware sealed in the box brand new....then mail it to you....then if its something you could get done...would that be something i could render your services for???
OH...BTW...you have a 3d printer, yes?
@@Beardedbob on my previous comment/inquiry....about a custom order for a mouse...
heres what was looking for...
(1) my favorite mouse ive used in the past 10 years has been the Razer Naga Left handed edition.
the mouse shape, size, and overall way it fits perfectly to my hand....
what i want to do:
make an ambidextrous version of the naga....take away the 12 mini grid form side buttons...
... get to side buttons (like the original Viper) keep the tilting scroll wheel , which is fukin awesome!
...keep the 2 middle buttons just behind the scroll wheel on the naga....
and give it the 8k polling rate sensor from the viper 8k.
...and if at all possible get the 8k polling rate sensor up to the 30,000 potential dpi....
(now that last thing with the sensor...if i had to choose between the 8k polling rate sensor or the higher 30k dpi sensor, id rather have the 8k sensor)
i want it to be precisely the same height, length, shape as the naga...but instead of the one side where the ring finger is supposed to rest...id much rather just be completely ambidextrous, with no extra 3rd finger placement...i suppose just fill it in and make it identical mirrored shape on both sides....the only tricky part if that is possible is where the 2 side buttons (on both sides..like the og viper)...im not entirely sure where precisely where i would want those...but i do know this...i would like both sides sets of side buttons to be each of those buttons are roughly the size of 4 of the mini square buttons the are on the side of the nagas grid mini buttons are...
i know that sounds insane...and complicated as hell, im sure there may be some 3d printing involved to achieve the shape of the mouse and the side buttons....
id like to draw up a diagram and visually show you what my vision is....hell i could even create it within a 3d modeling program which im fairly proficient in as well...
because, if you have to 3d print certain peices, maybe that could be a usable and fully scalable 3d printing file, if that's all something you can do.
what are your thoughts on the matter?
and if its possible (since youve already modded wired mice before into a wireless system...successfully)...
...so i figure YOU OF ALL PEOPLE would be able to create such a work of art...
is the
Are the side buttons hot swappable? I opened mine up cuz it was kinda wacky and didn't always work and the switch was just broken. I don't see how I'd solder it
No you need to de solder them .
i know you wont be reading this but i was curious about what switches you used for the side buttons because both of mine just broke apart and i cant find any replacements for them? Or does anyone know if you can buy the whole side button thing new with the old switches on it because i am not the best a soldering.
My Viper mini side buttons had a double-click issue after 2 yrs. I'm also wondering what kind of side buttons razer use.
thought they’d also used the optical switches in the side buttons. that’s really funny
what scroll wheel encoder is that? I couldn't get that info from the vid.
bro,. it's kailh 12mm
thx
Bob, I would love to see you review and tear down the new Alienware AW720 mouse which seems to be going under the radar. It’s a Razer clone at high price with great features!
Looks ok, I’ll add it to the list ruclips.net/video/1wvRjmKnlAg/видео.html
I have been experiencing an issue with my mouse where the scroll wheel occasionally scrolls in the opposite direction, leading to inaccurate scrolling. Would it be possible to replace the scroll wheel encoder on this mouse? Additionally, could you recommend a suitable replacement that would be compatible with this mouse and also provide smooth scrolling performance? Thank you.
Literally just watched this video to check where the screws are placed under the pads because I had the same issue. I used a toothbrush to clean around the scrollwheel and it seems to have helped, for now at least.
How exactly did you clean the wheel? And is it difficult to put the mouse back together later?@@khazareek
@@mironiks66 I used an old toothbrush. Its not difficult, you just put the screws back in and stick the skates on.
Thanks, I'll try to fix my mouse)
Type of battery and how new switches work and even fully disassemble?
Yep shows you all that you need to know 👍
@@Beardedbob Oh I mean for future fixes, if you can get easy replacement for them, that's kind of the info I was aiming for. Like using standard voltage on the battery make any other brand/model compatible and easy to replace without going for original parts, same for the switches. Features worth taking in consideration ;)
Is there a modification for the buttons to be quieter?
You can try gen2 for mouse1 and mouse2. VV2Pro uses gen3 swithes... Remember that when you open that thing and something goes wrong the warranty went off right when you opened it.
My custom shell for my superlight and removing the side buttons and bottom piece and magnets brought me down to 51.9g

@@Beardedbob thanks for the reply! i just wanted to see if the dimensions were the same and buy some superglides to use with the v2 pro, if theyre not the exact dimensions then ill just wait for the correct ones to be released.
Always a good watch
thanks man glad you liked it
what type of screw (T6)? like ultimate viper
all the info is in the vid 😝
@@Beardedbob sure..appreciate your video
this isnt the mouse i looked up.... the mouse wheel on this is already messed up, scroll jumps up and down. was looking up how to fix it.
Yeah mine does it too after only 5 months of owning. Razer won't warranty me either since I unknowingly bought it from an unauthorized seller on Amazon too.
Great video and information yet again. 😎👍
Got it the next day after its release .. however .. I have a claw / palm grip and it's no bueno (no good) at least in my hands. It's too short in length and height and I end up holding it at a 15° offset counterclockwise so my aims off. Since I bought it from Amazon, it's probably going to be shipped back to them. The switches and encoder are okay. I guess what I really want is a 60 g DeathAdder (not a ~89g).
Bottom line. Unless you're a fingertip grip person or someone with small hands, I would skip the Razor Viper V2 Pro. I don't care about the money BS. It's just not that good for me regardless.
GPX Superlight is still my GOAT.
How much palm is your “claw/palm” grip? I have relatively large or at least medium sized hands and I’m almost able to palm a basket ball but I’m still extremely comfortable palm clawing the Viper V2 Pro. In fact, I’ve seen most people recommend the Viper shape over the G Pro unless if you have a palm grip. But even then I think the lower hump helps with palm grip since your hand is in a more relaxed/lower position.
@@arsenai4935 .. Those people lied to you who said otherwise. Buy it and try it. I have a stupid amount of mice, money isn't the issue and I like Razor products so there's no anti V2 Pro agenda.
Perfect "SIZE" for my hand is everywhere from the Razor DeathAdder V2, Xlite V2, Glorious O, G502, GPX Superlight, etc. The Razor Viper V2 Pro is both shorter in length and height and because of that and its hourglass shape, it ends up at a 15° offset and it's not secure in my palm. I play at 5400 CPI with no reduction in multipliers.
On my Momba CoD channel the last example is a GPX Superlight at 5400 CPI.
Last night I played with the Razor V2 Pro and I got a V2 but my games were inconsistent and I went from the top of the leaderboard 95% of the time to middle the pack 95% of the time. Other reviews that I've read stated the exact same as me and I read them after the fact.
Again buy one. I'm not discouraging anyone. I literally couldn't care less what people buy or don't buy.
@@DJaquithFL I completely agree, I bought it immediately hoping that I would love it. Unfortunately, your list of perfect mice is the same for me, which means this mouse is just too small for my hands. I'm immortal in valorant and I was bottom fragging on a plat/diamond alt account (while testing the new mouse). It "feels" nice because it's so light but the shape is hard to stay consistent with if it doesn't actually fit your hand. a 60g DeathAdder would be amazing.
is that zippo lighter fluid? or is it some sort of oil/solvent?
zippo
@@Beardedbob awesome...why that particular fluid? are there specific properties that zippo fluid has that just works better than other types of solvents or fluids?
Just the one I prefer, some people use isopropyl but i've not tested it so i'm not sure if it works the same
@@Beardedbob well here is definitely one thing that iso alcohol is terrible for is anything plastic. iso has a tendency to fade plastics, discolor then, and sometimes leaves a white foggy film that can really mess up some types of plastics...💯 so definitely be careful with that...especially high % iso alcohol like 91%. that stuff with straight destroy some stuff. the normal strength 70% is easier on surfaces, but even that you gotta be careful with. i suggest watering down iso alcohol when using it on plastics or clearcoat and/or painted surfaces.
....however if you're going to paint what ever you are using the alcohol on, then it doesn't really matter that much.
another fluid i use to obliterate adhesives is "goo-gone".
its fantastic it your using it to take off residue from glues and other adhesives...but you definitely have to be careful with that stuff in some cases....it is sooooo slippery (because its a base) and once you use it, definitely clean off the goo-gone very extensively. cause its oily super lubricant type property can be very dangerous if you spill some on the floor...💯 even if you spill it on the floor it is a son-of-a-bitch to fully clean up...
...i almsot broke my ankle because i misssed a spot cleaning it off some tile floor and it was ALL BAD...so i had to use 91% iso alcohol and drench the area where i spilled it and used a green dish scrubbie to ensure that i got it all off...then for good measure i boiled some plain water and scrubbed the area again with a few clean rags, then dried it rubbing another clean rag or 2 for good measure....lol
@@ZenRyoku I used to regularly clean my fk1 (original, yellow logo) with 91% iso. Color never faded but the texture did change ever so slightly over the 8 or so years it was in use. I actually preferred the way it felt towards the end vs new, it got a tiny bit more grippy. Guess whether you wanna use it or not depends on if you like your mouse’s coating to begin with, cuz it’s not like it straight up destroys it.
9:48 best part
hehe
So if anyone reads this. Can i just take the battery out of mine and use a Dreamcable USB-C cable to make it a "wired" mouse?
Not sure but I keep meaning to test it
Just tested it. You can remove the battery if you plug a usb cable in it will work. Sadly I don't own the equipment to test any possible changes in latency etc. also it would probably be a bit front heavy since it is pretty well balanced overall.
P.S. The superglides i got for it seem to be "slower" than the older production models. Not "slow" but not gliding around my control pad as if it were ice.
The music lines up a pretty good response a 4:56
Thanks glad you like it.
"MEOW" 🤣
🐈🐈🐈🐈
It can be even lighter
Sure can
It’s an okay mouse. I will be returning mine as the scroll wheel they chose to use has too much play. They had time to make this perfect.
Should have released a viper mini ultimate but instead they released this witch if a mini viper scaled up
Yea def a really good mouse but noticed my scroll is slightly crooked which isnt the problem it just feels off or cheap for some reason, but the rest of the mouse is amazing. Prob a different encoder would fix the issue. Needs to be a bit smoother imo. However does stick up slightly high which most people will probably prefer over the ultimate. Really great mouse but still think a wireless viper mini pro and ultimate would sale amazingly well if not better. I prefer medium sized mice but the mini is solid shape for me.
@@Beardedbob Facts, whoever is in charge of the hypetrain needs to get woke because they are arrogant. They know what us consumers want out of a product it’s just that they view us as transactions realistically. They couldn’t give a crap.
The only reason why I gave Razer a chance again is because of how good the Orochi V2 is.
@@Beardedbob they devs acknowledge the viper mini’s popularity in our community and they’ve always said that they are going to take their time with it to make it perfect. The devs want it just as much as we do. Makes sense to release the viper v2 first because they need a product that competes with the logitech superlight, and they know that the backlash will be worse if they make a mistake on the Viper Mini Ultimate, but it wouldn’t be as big of a deal if the Viper V2 isn’t perfect since the original RVU is still a good mouse.

Different kind of question :) How, where and which kind of weights would you add to make the Viper 70g-75g and keep the weight well balanced.
@NeroFat Dude I am not stupid. I have Viper Ultimate.
@@sedliska then why????
@@sedliska you are stupid for wanting it at the weight you already have bro... just keep your mouse
@@NuggetsXInfinite He just wants a heavier mouse with better specs

Make it 44g to prove finalmouse is not the only choice ( I own sl12)
The medium FM is 47g so it’s already on pair of not better as it’s a bigger mouse.
The small FM SL12 would be compatible to a mini viper ultimate if one comes out
Man, why did they have have to use plastic rivets.
Cheap like the mini viper..not the best idea from razer on a £150 mouse
57 gramns whit a big battery razer is doing homework damn
It’s ok, they have cheaped out on the construction and used a lot of plastic rivots
Best mouse I've ever owned.
There is better but given Razers recent releases this isn’t bad
@@BeardedbobWhat's better? Looking to buy a mouse and considering Vaxee XE or NP01s. I have no budget, only want the very best. Claw grip
Just want someone to sell the v3 switches so I can get them for my mm720
That won't work beacuse u can only use razer switches for their mice.
Won't work with other mice for sure, those are only compatible with Razer mice I think.
Any optical switch works with any optical switch mouse

You didn't dismantle the main keys! Do you have to pee in a hurry? That's the main problem with the Viper, those fucking keys and you didn't show how you changed the design. Old fool, but you're the best here at disassembling mice, I always watch your videos.
You can’t they are plastic riveted on so once you break that you will have to glue it.
Also watch the full Twitch vod there is more
How is it after 7months? Trying to pick a mouse after Orochi v2, had a lot of creaking and double-click problems with it, really hoping not all razer mice are like that
They definitely aren’t all like that. My buddy rants and raves about his v2 pro I’m a zaunkoenig guy
