Been putting off watching this one since it came out, and man oh man, you didn't disappoint my friend! There is something about this one...how should I put this... many of those small towns you feature are old (duh...), but they're not just old, they are sometimes a bit worn and neglected, as they'll have some moss on the stone work, or black marks from years of water drippage, or simply damaged/exploded bricks, cracked plaster, etc... It seems to me that some of the buildings here are in a slightly better state of maintenance/preservation. Like, super clean. Pretty cool! That Alfa at 22:00 is sweet as hell too.
My dear Hugo, was waiting for your idea about San Quirico actually. I wanted to hear (read actually) what you thought of this new one filmed last summer and... I already imagined what you actually wrote) Yeah, I agree that San Quirico looks like "what a typical italian town would look like", if they would have the means to keep everything tidy and restored. It's a kind of "rich" town per-se, as all Tuscany perhaps (compared to Latium and.. to a lesser extend, Umbria), and I suspect (though I may be wrong) that this is the reason for it being more "facelifted". I may be wrong though, but the nearby "bagni", are quite a famous tourist attraction so... I suspect it's because of that. The Alfa was truly a nice one; didn't fancy the colour of the other one (the beige) but the red one... gosh... in great shape!
@@StillWanderer Funny you should say that, I was indeed thinking that this might be one of those rare small-but-wealthy towns, which you often see in the US, but not so much in Italy (that I know of anyway), aside from some fancy ski resorts in the Alps or the Dolomites, or wherever George Clooney decides to live. @@hugolafhugolafHah my dear Hugo that made me laugh actually here, while at my office today! Yeah, there are some of these towns also here, but I'm not so sure they can be seen as so "wealthy" as others in the US for instance. It's a different kind of "richness" perhaps... As we wrote each other in the email days ago, it's a mistery how sometimes what it appears is not in fact the real truth or how wealth of the "older rich" anyway is very discreet. I have a friend who's very well off here, he's a very very good old friend of mine ... yet he travels in such an old car and dresses like nobody would watch at him) Quite funny actually and I don't escape the fun of poking him on this from time to time.
