Between "Gearbox Standard Ratio" and "Grand Sport Rally," the term "Grand Sport Rally" (GSR) is best known in the context of Evo models. While "Gearbox Standard Ratio" may accurately describe a technical aspect of the car, it's not a commonly used term in casual conversation or marketing materials. On the other hand, "Grand Sport Rally" (GSR) has become synonymous with the Evo's trim level, and it sounds better for marketing or I call 😊Greatly Slower than RS 😂
What you wrote here initally "Grand Sport Rally" is correct. That's the only meaning. Just a ton of misinformation in the video overall including the GReddy turbo stuff. Evos run MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industry) turbos, i.e OEM mitsubishi turbos barring a few Ralliart specials.
Im going to assume that the evo 8 and 9 are basically the same aside from the turbo size. I think I might have to get that RS engine swap for my Evo 8. Nice video.
No. The odd thing is in the table in the video it clearly calls out (correclty) that the Evo IX's engine has MIVEC (Variable valve timing) while the VIII's doesn't. Also has better coolant passages on the IX so if you can get the IX engine it would be better
Depends, are you using it for track racing, Gymkhana style driving, or will it be drip feed the finest oil, covered in a blanket parked in a climate-controlled garage and only driven once every blue moon to visit granny.
GSR is Gran Sport Rally I thought
